Quoted from dboeren:Hey guys, I'm currently doing research for my next pin and Legends of Valhalla is on my short list of games to check out. I have not gotten to play any American titles yet but I should be able to try a Legends of Valhalla (and Hot Wheels) in a couple of weeks.
Here's something I've been wondering... Other than art and a licensed theme, what do you feel is keeping American Pinball machines from getting a higher rank? If I compare American to Spooky it seems like Spooky somehow gets much higher rankings on their machines despite all sorts of problems. American machines seem more solidly made, provide a good value, and haven't had the quality scandals that Spooky has had and yet they seem to be struggling to breaking into the higher rankings. Is there something I'm missing, or is it mostly just due to the themes?
Do we have any info on when Galactic Tank Force or the upcoming Dennis Nordman design will be revealed?
Thanks!
The reason is that rankings are irrelevant and don't represent anything in particular that you should use to judge a game. It's a compiled list of rankings from various quantities of fanboys, haters, the misinformed, the informed, the rank amateurs, professionals, and randos - only some of whom have actually played the game - which is then weighted and sorted by a hidden formula. Don't worry about it.
