They could have tested one in my house if this is true...
I could have had a number of my fellow league members over on short notice

Quoted from Knapp_Arcade:

It looks like American Pinball's next game, Legends of Valhalla will be out at several locations for testing this weekend...

I'll probably have to put these kits together myself if they're going to get listed.

Thanks! brenna98 ordered and watching for the kit!

Well it's out! I'm underwhelmed by the 3D-printed and sketchily painted figures shown on the deluxe. If Stern put these on a playfield there'd be a riot. Should've had Lior do the sculpts.

Anyone spot differences between this version and what we've seen? The hammer is new?

To me, the art is still 'advanced amateur' and I'm not convinced. For an unlicensed theme, the art is what lets you knock it out of the park. Quite a custom soundtrack available for it though!

Look forward to hearing about how it plays....ultimately comes down to that for me.

Seen the Deluxe version $8400 - How about the Classic version and pricing ????

Well it says for the classic -- 'announced later'

Could be as much as another 6 months before a Classic according to one distro ...

They had to save something for them to talk about at Expo!

I can't wait to give it a spin. All three of their other games have had their own charm to them.

Any details you can provide of any code updates or additional LCD work we can expect to be different from the prototypes?

Looks great!

#911 2 years ago

Nice to see LOV announced. Congratulations to Riot Pinball and AP.

I will wait to see how long it takes for the Classic production to be announced and the pricing to be revealed.

Sounds like it might be a fairly long wait though ...

#912 2 years ago

Order in game looks great. A nice direction for AP.

#913 2 years ago

Order in with PinballStar, this pin looks Dope

#914 2 years ago

Looks to be good value versus the $8900 Stern Premium. If you can do without the bling and wait for the Classic, even better.

Doesn't look to be any gameplay differences between Deluxe and Classic?

#915 2 years ago

Lets see off the top of my head:
9 months of code updates based on AP group testing and IFPA member feedback. Rules are similar to the prototype games but enhanced with some animations, callouts, and lightshows.
New code framework and OS.
Message system clearly describing shots for each mode/battle/etc.
All new artwork by Scott Gullicks for the display/characters/modes/battles, etc. Display refinements.
500 new callouts by 9 voice talents including the reprise of Odin by Jeff Teolis
Changes to the playfield including additional magnet, skulpts, lighting additions, optos, different sound system, wireforms, a bunch of things.

No waiting. Go play it today at one of the 11 arcades that have games or will get them early next week (west coast/midwest).

I’m interested if the classic is around 7k

I thought AP was changing their head design? They also desperately need a new logo

#917 2 years ago

Looking forward to playing LOV at pinball expo. Love 3 flipper layouts

#918 2 years ago

Any pricing out yet on standards?

#919 2 years ago

Just curious, not complaining.
Side blades for this game yet?

#920 2 years ago

Btw. I love the backbox design, it will look nice next to my hotwheels and houdini

#921 2 years ago

Game looks cool. I hope it sells well for American. I understand parts shortages and whatnot. But they really needed to announce this before Godzilla.

Awesome! Fingers crossed we can get one to Pincinnati so everyone can see the prototype and the final version.

I don't know, that thing that passes for Thanos's glove on AIQ is pretty damned sad and that's just the first one I can think of. I bet these looks better in person than you're seeing in the pictures.

Seems like a good strategy but I would be anyone $100 game four is NOT Sherlock Holmes, I have no insider knowledge but I'm still that confident.

You're right that glove is awful!

#927 2 years ago

Maybe a classic in the future. I love AP machines, disappointing they went the deluxe/classic route. I don't see the value at $8400+shipping especially with those 3D printed figurines.

A few hundred dollars less than Zilla…. Going to be a hard sell

Quoted from Yesh23:

Maybe not. Limited to 300 vs. 1,000 Godzilla LEs now going for $12K+. I bet these don’t last long. We’ll see though.

Oh yeah, and 300 at $8,400 as an LE with a mirrored backglass, powder coated armour, shaker motor, and Invisi type glass. Compare that to a an unlimited Godzilla premium at $8900 without any of those additional items that are found only on their $10,500 LE's...

You can always add a shaker motor $100, inviglass $250, powder coat $300 but can you add a big 5 story mech in the middle of the playfield????

Quoted from Yesh23:

It’s the same argument everyone has on a stern Le and prem as the difference is similar for those as well. hd glass, art blades, powder coat, shaker, mirrored glass etc for 1300-1500 more. It’s just taken directly out of the stern playbook so it will be preference for that stuff. It’s an old argument. It comes down to how many people love the theme to want the Le or just want it done from the factory to make it easy.

About as easily as you can add the shit build splitting cab missing screw soupy play field big brother spy equipment within

Looking forward to seeing an updated video of the game.

Was the Thor hammer up-post replaced with a magnet in the production version?

Per pinball profile interview yes. There is a magnet instead of an up post.

Damn it....I am in... FOMO....HAHA.

I am into supporting other vendors for 2022.

Alien and LOV will ne a nice start in the new house, if it will ever get finished...crazy times.

Is this the dedicated thread for LOV?

The list of arcades is in the thisweekinpinball article. Thanks

Correct. Magnet is replaced the up post. We felt it was more fun to stop the ball when the hammer crashed down and you could shake the ball releasing to a lane. Its used several times during the game
