Quoted from chuckwurt:

Literally plays once during the movie for like a minute. I can see why you don’t like it though. Everyone that is in their mid 30s has seen this movie like 200 times.

I was a teenager when it came out and like all of them except part 4. No Pixar movies would be a good idea to make a pinball out of except maybe Cars? There just isn't enough going on, like you said the main song is like a minute. Name another one? The plots were all very similiar with rescuing a friend, I'm not sure if I remember what sequal was with who for a mode in the game? I see a great playfield filled with a toybox of cool toys, casino slot sounds, and not much code to go from. We'll see.

Quoted from Pinphila:

It was a good interview. David did great. He was forthright about the company mistakes. Based on what I heard he put together a great team and AP is heading in a great direction.
The whole idea of them selling mods for hot wheels which would change game play would be cool.

Agree, I thought that it was a great interview. Physical upgrades for an existing machine is a fantastic idea. Certainly would entice me to reconsider purchasing a game like Hot Wheels. It’s a fun game but needs just a bit more under the glass.

Quoted from gonzo73:

Sherlock Holmes is simply one of the most well know characters ever created, even kids know who and what carrer Holmes is famous for.
I've read all the original stories, dozens of pastiche novels.
Jeremy Brett's Holmes was my favorite adaptation..
The modern Cumberbatch version is alot of fun also.
If done well, a Sherlock pin could be amazing.

I could see a mode where you have to hit certain shot to find clues to solve a mystery. Of course Who dunnit kind of did that already.

I hate K-man and usually downvote anyone who mentions him but I may actually have to go listen to this one unless TWIP or someone else does a nice recap to spare me. Come on Coz tell me you'll cover this in detail on The Pinball Show podcast!

It’s pretty good. No BS.

Listened yesterday and not a bad interview. Dave sure has his hands full.

No other details needed until the next game is revealed. It is a good interview.

But on the flip side, will they start really selling stripped down games and it's on us fill the playfield? Not sure this is any better than a DLC.

Well.... in Professor Moriarty you have one of the greatest super Villains in Literature.
Doyle himself Retconned his own story's several times.
You would take a selection of mysteries, and have Moriarty as the ultimate string puller.
All the minor villains as Moriartys Lieutenants.
The Navel Treaty.
The Six Napoleons.
The Dancing men.
The Red Headed league.
The Second Stain
The Empty House character Colonel Moran/assasin
The Blue Carbuncle.
Silver Blaze.
The illustrious Client
The Dying Detective.
The Greek Interpreter
Charles Augustus Milverton
The Priory Shool.

All leading to the Ultimate Confrontation of Holmes and Moriarty atop the Riechenbach Falls.

Brett and Burke, the best Holmes and Watson.

Not that we didn't already know...and take it for what it's worth...but Kaneda just "confirmed" that the next AP game is LOV. He claims to have pictures and a list of game credits for those who worked on the the game. He read them off. I didn't recognize most of the names except for Josh Kugler and Michael Grant.

I would assume most of those names will be the guys that are Riot Pinball.

They are. I've worked with Frank / Luvthatapex during the Visual Pinball days when he would provide Zaccaria materials and other resources to convert to that platform.

#863 53 days ago

what is LOV?

#864 53 days ago

Legends of Valhalla. It was done by Riot Pinball and picked up for mass production by AP.

It’s a modified Wrath of Olympus

#866 53 days ago

They’re totally different, unless they’re retheming WOOLY as LOV which I doubt.

#867 53 days ago

Good look at the proto version with chuckwurt

Quoted from onemilemore:

The layout looks like a modified WOOLY. Same third flipper, several similar shoots, same pop bumper but obviously modified.

Edit guess just the flipper and pop bumper. Rest looks a lot different on closer inspection

#869 53 days ago

Yeah looks a lot different on closer inspection in that video.

thanks, So I’m just guessing it won’t be exactly like this but like 90% plus another 10% finesse?

Is the America prototype going to be at Pinball Expo? I plan on going?

Game 4 reveal should be at or before expo with games available to play!!

American pinball has a seminar Thursday October 28th at 7:00pm. Maybe they will have games available for sale?? We will find out in just a few weeks.

#873 52 days ago

Really curious to see price point on this one...

#874 52 days ago

Does anyone know if there will be playfield deltas between "Standard" and "Deluxe"? Or is the difference only accoutrements?

Not sure if David Fix mentioned it in his recent interview.

#875 52 days ago

Yes, someone does.

#876 52 days ago
Quoted from Viggin900:

As I've said, Jack the Ripper would make a way better pin if you were going with a Victorian investigator theme. Or Van Helsing. Paying 7k + for Sherlock Holmes is not going to happen but it does sound better than Toy Story. Another title no one asked for.

Oh, I am asking for it... and from the sound of it... lots of people are asking for it. Good luck trying to find a CE. By the sound of it they are all already accounted for.

Dragons Lair would be pretty epic. The funny thing is that controlling Dirk via pinball action is likely easier than controlling him through the joystick. Has there ever been a game that mixed soooo much awesomeness with such awful game play?

Hell No!
Except for the PC version which managed to make it vastly worse by adding mouse control!

What's great about video game license is that it comes with video, sound, and story already baked in. Bring it on.
@,punkin gnr and Rob/white zombie are 30 years ago. Also I played the first Assassins creed how many years ago? I was hoping AP's next game was gonna be Assassins creed

I would pay for a world of warcraft (the game) pin. The options for modes etc are endless and so are also the amount of sounds/effects etc. music attract mode alone would make it a mandatory buy for me.

Civilization would work too.

This would be a great IP for American Pinball to get.

Slightly OT, American Pinball, holidays are just around the corner, anything new in the AP store we can be looking forward to? Hot Wheels or Oktoberfest Tshirts? OF! art print? Limited Hot Wheel? Light kit for topper soon? (Know thats been in work for awhile)

Not sure if David Fix mentioned it in his recent interview.

Unless they change dramatically from what they are doing right now the answer is no. The "deluxe" editions are the standard plus things you could always add yourself like art blades, shaker, magic glass and possibly a topper.

I'm looking forward to seeing (virtually) what AP's version of LOV is like and how it's changed from what Riot had out there with the few games they'd built.

Excited to see this next week at expo.
Getting close.
I have new phone with better camera now. I'll post tons of pics.

I’ll be there for Expo too. Hope to stop by the new factory as well. Looking forward to seeing the team unveil the new game.

I can’t make it to Expo, but I’m looking forward to the updates and pictures from those of you who’ll be there.

O.K. Here is the strategy… if it’s Sherlock Holmes and it looks fun I get that if it something else I just buy a new Houdini. Either way American Pinball stockholders will be happy.

You won’t be disappointed with Houdini. I love mine. But all indication is that the next AP game is Legends of Valhalla. Maybe Sherlock will be down the road. I hope it is.

I too would really like to see Sherlock at some point and hopefully not very far down the road.

I have a somewhat modest collection of pinball machines and I love them all, but lately I have been playing almost primarily Houdini, and Oktoberfest. I can't seem to get enough of those two pins right now. Every mode feels like a different game and is highly appealing. Why worry about the next American Pinball machine and pick yourself up a Houdini that you can play right now. You won't regret it. Just make sure you pick one up with the upgraded package with new power supply, shaker and knocker. The games are the best value in pinball right now, hands down.

#897 40 days ago

This may turn out to be super good advice cause they could announce a price increase as well considering their games have more in them then most stern premiums and they are 9k now.

#898 40 days ago

Getting closer, less than a week from Pinball Expo. How about a sneak peek

#899 40 days ago
Quoted from McDoom:

My list:
Predator
Friday the 13th
Shogun Assassin
Terminator 2 (Remake)
Nightmare on Elm St. (Remake)
Gremlins (1&2)
Goonies
The Last Dragon (This could work)
Mad Max Fury Road
Pink Floyd
The Warriors
The Thing
Escape From NY
Ong Bak (1,2,3)
RoboCop (Remake)
Batman (The Dark Knight Returns)
Will we ever see any adult titles from American?
Only time will tell.

Fury road...WITNESS ME!!!
