Quoted from Whysnow:

so where is the on/off switch going to be if transformer is in the head?

My guess will be bottom of the backbox on the right. When TWD was shown in Amsterdam both gary and Dave were informing with their customers how they would feel about moving the on/off button to that position.

WWF Royal Rumble VE confirmed

Quoted from Kneissl:

What's the bet?

That it does or doesn't sell out. Duh.

#654 9 years ago
Quoted from beelzeboob:

Anybody want to take bets that if there's an LE version, it doesn't sell out?

Quoted from dantebean:

Wish they would release a retro addition.
Hulk Hogan
I would be in at that point. Stopped watching wrestling in 1993-1994.

Have you guys not read the press release??

#655 9 years ago
Quoted from dantebean:

Wish they would release a retro addition.

They did say the LE would feature "legends"

What are you wagering?

Man...that playfield is hideous looking (image-wise) but interesting layout-wise.

This game has location pin written all of it.

#659 9 years ago
Quoted from Pinchroma:

So the LE is going to have a different playfield entirely? Different artwork as well?

Has to. If the LE is going to be Retro you can't have the rock and john cena on the playfield like the pro and then subsequently have classic artwork on the cab.

It may also have different voice calls as it is likely to feature other superstars. I will not be surprised if the LE will sell out and lead to a Premium.

Quoted from Wolfmarsh:

Considering most of the other companies can't seem to hit deadlines for games they have been trying to pump for months and even years.... Stern just goes to CES and shows off a pin that's ready to purchase.
I think that deserves some respect. Development and production funded by profits from previous projects.

Stern, thanks!

Just have to say, I was a skeptic at first glance of the picture, but this thing looks really cool. Metal ramps, very cool toy/s, upgraded board set, the pro looks amazing. Can't wait to put some plays on this one.

BTW. Cheers to the Lorenzo Edition

So the press release says the LE version will have an LCD screen!

That's big news.

"Wrestling legend Hulk Hogan will individually autograph each of the numbered WWE Legends of Wrestlemania Limited Edition (LE) machines on a bottom arch mounted gold plaque. With only 400 autographs available, this collectible must be limited to that number of games. The LE game art features classic WWE stars, of course including Hulk Hogan. Actual WWE wrestling action is projected on the LE's replica "Titantron" playfield level 5.7 inch LCD directly above the ring. The ball is always wild when it comes into contact with the LE's exclusive "Chaos" spinning DISC while a third "Wham! Arm" flipper allows players to knock the ball off a wire ramp."

#663 9 years ago

Three wires to the flipper coils. Interesting.

#664 9 years ago

A hidden tribute to Python (Jokerz similarity), that's honorable!

I'll join the ranks of the haters of the theme but looking at the pictures this morning I must say this looks like classic, solid and fun pinball! This will sure catch my quarters but not my grands.

on the playfield, it will still have a DMD

#666 9 years ago

That's not the type of LCD screen we've been expecting...

LCD on the playfield. Might be something MikeD could possible do in the future for pro owners....speculating.

Quoted from Aurich:

Haha, Greg's my friend, but we hardly have a hive mind. Guessing he's with me on this one though. Utterly uninterested.

My brother might like it....oh wait, C.M. Punk isn't featured - so, nah, even he won't care lol

I'm indifferent. Even if it was a theme I liked, I'm out of the NIB game due to the never ending code problems on previous releases. Thankfully, I won't even be remotely tempted..

Design looks interesting, though - I'd play it if it was on location.

From a sales perspective though - 400 LEs signed by Hulk Hogan? I think those will sell out quick to hardcore fans, like Master of Puppets sold quick to Metallica fans.

#669 9 years ago

That is a really decent looking pro.

#670 9 years ago
Quoted from dantebean:

Wish they would release a retro addition.
Hulk Hogan
Roddy Piper
Ultimate Warrior
Undertaker
Big Boss Man
Sgt. Slaughter
Macho Man
Brett Hart
Mr. Perfect
Ect.
I would be in at that point. Stopped watching wrestling in 1993-1994.

Sounds like the LE could be for you (depending on what they mean by "legends").

#671 9 years ago
Quoted from Pinchroma:

LET THE HACKING BEGIN!

Ssshhhhh. Less posting, more hobbitting.

#672 9 years ago

I want this one so I can have both versions

WWF, The one with dead wrestlers and WWE, The one with alive wrestlers......

#673 9 years ago

Ok, it may not be a looker but the LE does look as if it will be a ton of fun to play.

#674 9 years ago
Quoted from epthegeek:

Isn't it just Spike(TM) not Spiketm? Figured the presser didn't copy-pasta properly.

Probably. You'd think they would make sure to get the ™ correct on the launch of their new hardware brand...

#675 9 years ago

is this the pro or LE version?

#676 9 years ago
Quoted from dantebean:

Wish they would release a retro addition.

I also stopped watching wrestling around 1993-94 and have some nostalgia for 80's / early 90's WWF. I don't recognize a single wrestler on the Pro model artwork, but I'm sure I'd enjoy playing an LE with some of the legends. I'm curious to see how the upper PF plays, and how often it's used in the game. If it's used sparingly like The Power in TZ it might be cool, but I could see it getting annoying if it's overused. Seems like there may be some cool features. Looking forward to checking it out, but I highly doubt I'd want to own one.

#677 9 years ago
Quoted from gambit:

is this the pro or LE version?

Pro. Since the presser says the LE will have 'classic' WWE people

#678 9 years ago
Quoted from o-din:

Three wires to the flipper coils. Interesting.

The upper pf/ring kickers are player controlled. I'm assuming they are daisy chained in with the lower flippers thru a relay (or simply fire all the time and are annoying and wear out like a stock TSPP).

#679 9 years ago

What's up with the triple rubbers near the flipper lane guides? Maybe some type of nudge target in the arch?

#682 9 years ago
Quoted from MikeS:

wwe.jpg 60 KB

I think it's wrestle ring looks only.

#683 9 years ago

Metal ramps on the pro...

And can we all please realize... a premium will follow if there is demand? No whining over "I had to buy a LE..."

In the verge video you can see there are PCBs on the back of several of the brackets and attached to the bottom of the playfield. Looks like the new Spike system is using an addressable bus with maybe replaceable boards vs repairable boards?

Will be interesting to see once we get some good details on the new system.

#684 9 years ago

Atrocious art but looks like it could be a fun player.

#685 9 years ago
Quoted from MikeS:

They resemble the ropes in a wrestling ring. Pretty smart thinking.

Probably just to make it look like the wrestling ropes...

EDIT: looks like a few guys type faster than me

#687 9 years ago

I love playing NBAFB primarily because the announcer makes it feel like being at a real game to me. If they come close to that same feel with this table then they'll have a winner. Quote it

I'd like to see the board(s) clearly, i think i'm gonna miss boards you can repair without magnifying glasses and gucci soldering tools.

#690 9 years ago

WOW! A Stern Pro with actual star posts? No way!

#691 9 years ago
Quoted from Nelly:

Have you guys not read the press release??

But the "Legends" will probably have The Rock, Triple H, Steve Austin, and others after 1993. I couldn't careless about wrestling after that year unfortunatly. Only 400 and signed by Hulk, it would be hard to get ahold of one of those I'm guessing. Probably pushing $9k at that point.

#692 9 years ago
Quoted from flynnibus:

At this point I think most are simply LED boards, or opto boards much like Metallica's drop target bank. (certainly the one on the center drop bank is optos)

Could be 100% wrong tho, I didn't study too close.

I was pointing out that the coils now have three lugs like Williams.

Could mean the end of the stern flipper humm

Ooooooh I did not look close enough. Good catch!

No more flipper buzz?????

The rock and hhh are already on the playfield of the pro.... so not sure why they would be on both. If its signed by the Hulkster, I'm guessing it will feature classic Hulkamania era wrestlers.

metal ramps!!!

The driver circuits need to be somewhere... and they aren't in the backbox... so they are likely some of these boards

I believe they are using williams style and cycled flipper coils. This has been rumored for a while. NICE
