Hello everybody, as you no doubt have guessed... I'm Gerard. Together with Dennis I made our Matrix dream come true this year and we'd like to share it with you.
On our Facebook page you can read all about our Matrix pinball machine.
A complete make over of Johnny Mnemonic with all new rules, software and art.
We just uploaded a short movie of the Morpheus mode, to give you an idea what the Matrix is all about.
Feel free to give us your feedback!

#36 11 years ago

Thnx everyone.

My idea is to transform a JM in to a The Matrix go way back.
I always had the idea that the movie JM was a prequel of The Matrix
but most of all, i love JM the pinball machine.
I have about 35 Machines (MM,CV,CC,MB you name it) and the JM is my favorite.
we spend a year to realize this, 2000 men hours and eleven people that help me.
Dennis van de Pas did a 1000+ hours work in the software (P-Roc).
The playfield is airbrush with 40 layers of clearcoat.
Here,s another gameplay video made by Pinball News at the Dutch Pinball Open.

#73 11 years ago

The most essential toy in the Matrix is almost finished.
We found a 3D artist who is making a NebuchadnezzaR toy.
It wil be placed where the "hand" from the Johnny Mnemonic used to be.

Only the cockpit/nose has been created.
There is no place for the whole ship.
The magnet wil be intergrated in the ship as the hand did in the JM.

image.jpgimage.jpg

#74 11 years ago

Well, no reactions on the 3D toy so far. (-;

We will show you some animations this week.

Pherhaps you will scream and shout, and let it al out.

We are considering attending the 2013 Pinball Expo in Chicago coming October 16-20. Things look promising getting the Matrix machine abroad, although a lot of stuff has to be checked. We'll keep you posted on that.
Find enclosed the beginning of the Trinity mode.

Second time watch the diverter.

Quoted from Profgrif:

man i want this game!!! This is the best home made pinball i have ever seen, I loved the Evil Dead/Army of darkness one, but this is simply incredible, and the theme is so good!!!

Thnx

I hope we can show it to you guys at the Expo (Chicago).
Tickets and hotel room has been booked. now let's find out how we get the machine over there.

Gerard

#111 11 years ago

Kits, production ? I don't now guys.

We're gonna think about this.
Fist priority is finishing the game. Then get it to Chicago.
Mayby that's a good time to analyse everything en think about taking the next step.

@pinballgeek. What do you think is the best show in the UK to show it?

@apekop. Ik zie je binnenkort volgens mij (-;

Latest update. A custom lockbar.

Enjoy.

Gerard.

We have made a paper craft model of the matrix pinball
If you want it you can download it at http://www.zazama.nl
Have fun.

The folding instructions for the mini matrix paper craft model is now availible in english.

Good luck

You can download it at www.zazama.nl

MINI PINBALL (english)

The mini pinball is designed to print on an A4 size paper (210 x 297 mm) = approx. 8¼ x 11¾ inch.
Paper weight ~ 120 grams/m² .

What we need :
Glue / knife + cutting board + ruler / scissors / thin transparant plastic for the playfield window /

Description / folding instructions:

Start with light incise all the dotted lines before cutting out all the parts.
Try on a piece of paper how deep the incision is needed for easy folding and not to cut the paper in two.

Widely cut out piece “B” (cabinet-siderails / lockbar) , first fold on dotted line, then cut out very precise the in- and outside.

Legs “P”. For more firm legs, at the backside, glue some black paper, let it dry , then cut out the legs and fold them 90°

Cut out Cabinet “K” , pre-fold and flatten it again.
Fold and glue black strip “K1” to the inside and fold back the last white strip, this white strip will be supporting the playfield later on.

“K2” is the place where the lockbar is mounted and makes the cabinet more sturdy at the frontside.
The small picture next to it makes clear how it has to be fold.
1st 90° angle compared to the frontside. 2nd part +180° and 3rd the last 2 mm back -90° . Glue it.

Glue “K3” and “K4” (cabinet around plus baseplate) so you have now a closed cabinet, only open at the topside.

“K5” (backboxsupport and rear-playfield-panel) . First fold 180° and glue the white strip “b” under white area “a”,
Fold back “c” -90° (see small picture under K5).
Fold “K5 a” 90° compared to the backside and glue it to the inside of the cabinet.

Pre-fold Backbox “H” and flatten it again.

“H1” fold 180° to the backside of “H2”, now glue only between the arrows where it says “lijm”. Yes , “lijm” is dutch glue.
In the space between “H1” en “H2”, at the very bottom , will fit strip “H3” once the backbox is almost completed

Now the three folding lines from the backbox-top to the translite. Left there’s the little picture with 135° , 45° and -90°
where it shows how to fold this one.
So, top backbox horizontal, then slant to the inside, horizontal to the inside and final the translite straight down.
Glue white strips “H2” to the inside top of the backbox.
First try to fold the rest of the backbox together without glueing to see how it fits, especially how H3” fits between “H1” en “H2
Now glue “H5” and then “H3” and “H4”

Playfield “S”: bring up the three dark sides and glue the two corners. Glue it into the cabinet. Fold “K5c” over the playfield

Cabinet-siderails / lockbar “B” is already pre-fold in the beginning of the instructions.
Depending on how your copy is printed, without resizing, it should fit a piece of transparent plastic of 37 x 78 x 0.2 mm
(that’s approx. 1 7/16 x 3 1/16 x 1/16 inch) , glue it at the backside of “B”
Glue it together with cabinet “K”

Glue and place Backbox “H” on the cabinet “K”
Glue the two joints “J” under the backbox
Glue the gun together and place it on the Cabinet right next the (coin)-door
And finally the legs “L”.

Enjoy, good luck and lot of patience,
Sascha Voskuil

Pinpeet and Apekop.
Thnx for your positive feedback.

#133 11 years ago

NERG will be the first visit to the UK for THE MATRIX.
Even if it's a small event like you say. We are looking forward to it.
Philips entusiasme did it for us.

I know Andrew, mayby we can work something out as well.

#140 11 years ago
Quoted from Astropin:

Crazy I know, but this conversion is the coolest thing I've ever seen since I first entered this hobby in 2001.

Wow, thats a nice compliment.

Tonight we're gonna post another animation.
I think it's the best yet.
Cypher mode start.
Buckle your seatbelt Dorothy, because Kansas is going Bye Bye.

Soon we're gonna make some gameplay videos and a photoshoot.

Hello everybody, just to let you know Dennis finished the software for the full 100% about two weeks ago.He Needed a little holiday after completing it. Of course he added all the DMD aninmations in it as well and it came out amazing. The second protoype playfiels is nearing completion as well.
Also anouncing that we are going to attent with The Matrix at the Chigaco Expo 2013 on October 16-20, with the Demolition Man on Steriods as well, in the Pinball Controllers booth!
It's going to be quite a "Dutch invasion" as Koen and Barry are setting up their Bride of Pinbot 2.0 as well. We are really looking forward to it and hope to see you all there. Don'f forget Ep the Geek's upgrade on the Cactus Canyon and The Predator pinball for an amazing line up.
Besides proto #2 we are workign on the #101, #201 and #301 in the meantime.

#160 10 years ago

Guys, thnx for your enthusiasm.
But it takes time to swallow the red pill (-;
We don't want to choke.

We are seriously working on the idea of a kit, but we can't say yes or no right now.
Patience.

At the Expo we should now something more.

Till that time, if you live in the Uk, visit us at NERG.

New gameplay vids wil come soon.

#164 10 years ago

Today we'd like to share a video with gameplay of the Smith mode, followed by Neo Multiball.
In Agent Smith mode the goal is to defeat Smith by shooting the White Arrows only. The Orange Arrows represent Smit beating you up. The arrows change color in time, a ramp shot changes Orange Arrows into white arrows.
Multiball consists of 3 rounds for Super Jackpot. Round 1 goal is to hit both ramps 3 times to get the first Super Jackpot on the right loop.
Hope you'll enjoy, sorry if the horizontal/vertical frame results in a neckache....

#167 10 years ago

We will show you another gameplay video later this week.

#170 10 years ago
Quoted from canea:

Way to hit those loops!

I don't want to repeat things but that seems to be no problem over here (KIT) (-;

But here's a vid of the loops on the right side.

Why not?
I think the most hard part of making a pin is the layout.
If you do that yourself the machine will suck.
I always say. George Gomez did the layout for the matrix (-;
The JM is the fastest game i know. I love it.
What beter than use this layout than create your own.

Still no idea on the Kits.
Let's see how the comments are after NERG

#227 10 years ago

Apron stickers arrived this weekend.

image.jpgimage.jpg

#241 10 years ago

Yes we do.

The left ramp reprecent te blue pil.
The right ramp the red pil.

The speakerpanel was designed to keep the blue to the right etc.
With the animation we notice that Morpheus has the pills the other way around.
We have not decided yet to flip the animation or flip the speakerpanel.
This is still the prototype (-;
