Tickets and hotel room has been booked. now let's find out how we get the machine over there.

Wow. This is the first time I caught wind of this thread and your machine. Truly amazing work here. One of the best rethemes I've seen.

Also, on a selfish note, I would LOVE to see this at Chicago this year. An expo highlight in the making!

*fingers crossed*

I just want a kit made and made yesterday!

#103 11 years ago

If you really are thinking about a kit for JM, I would be down for that! Kick-starter,pre-order or what ever! This is the machine I have been waiting to see

#104 11 years ago

Folks lets be a little realistic.
I LOVE JM. I hate the theme.
I LOVE The Matrix movie. I would love nothing more than to combine the two. But seriously if this were able to be made into kit form, I would expect it would end very quickly once Warner Brothers steps in with a Cease and Desist.
Believe me, I would JUMP at the opportunity to own this. I just can't see it happening. One can dream though.

Not if they purchase a license to do it from WB......can you say "kick-starter" to cover the licensing fee. Might be a long shot, but never say never.

#107 11 years ago

Great job!
If Pinpeet comes over, can I come as well?

#108 11 years ago

Is there any chance once its completed bringing it over to the uk

#109 11 years ago

Kick Starter!!!!!!!!!!!!!

#110 11 years ago

let me put it this way. You won't get as many people kicking in on this as easy as Farsight does but the people who will kick in would be willing to kick in a lot more money. I kicked in $10 to help get Star Trek The Next Generation done but I would be willing to kick in at least a couple hundred on a project like this.

#111 11 years ago

Kits, production ? I don't now guys.

We're gonna think about this.
Fist priority is finishing the game. Then get it to Chicago.
Mayby that's a good time to analyse everything en think about taking the next step.

@pinballgeek. What do you think is the best show in the UK to show it?

@apekop. Ik zie je binnenkort volgens mij (-;

Latest update. A custom lockbar.

Enjoy.

Gerard.

I love what you guys are doing with this. If I knew you were going to offer a kit, I'd have to start hunting down a JM right away.

#115 11 years ago

Ziet er top uit geer!! Kom m graag weer eens bewonderen. Erg benieuwd naar de updates.

We have made a paper craft model of the matrix pinball
If you want it you can download it at http://www.zazama.nl
Have fun.

The folding instructions for the mini matrix paper craft model is now availible in english.

Good luck

You can download it at www.zazama.nl

MINI PINBALL (english)

The mini pinball is designed to print on an A4 size paper (210 x 297 mm) = approx. 8¼ x 11¾ inch.
Paper weight ~ 120 grams/m² .

What we need :
Glue / knife + cutting board + ruler / scissors / thin transparant plastic for the playfield window /

Description / folding instructions:

Start with light incise all the dotted lines before cutting out all the parts.
Try on a piece of paper how deep the incision is needed for easy folding and not to cut the paper in two.

Widely cut out piece “B” (cabinet-siderails / lockbar) , first fold on dotted line, then cut out very precise the in- and outside.

Legs “P”. For more firm legs, at the backside, glue some black paper, let it dry , then cut out the legs and fold them 90°

Cut out Cabinet “K” , pre-fold and flatten it again.
Fold and glue black strip “K1” to the inside and fold back the last white strip, this white strip will be supporting the playfield later on.

“K2” is the place where the lockbar is mounted and makes the cabinet more sturdy at the frontside.
The small picture next to it makes clear how it has to be fold.
1st 90° angle compared to the frontside. 2nd part +180° and 3rd the last 2 mm back -90° . Glue it.

Glue “K3” and “K4” (cabinet around plus baseplate) so you have now a closed cabinet, only open at the topside.

“K5” (backboxsupport and rear-playfield-panel) . First fold 180° and glue the white strip “b” under white area “a”,
Fold back “c” -90° (see small picture under K5).
Fold “K5 a” 90° compared to the backside and glue it to the inside of the cabinet.

Pre-fold Backbox “H” and flatten it again.

“H1” fold 180° to the backside of “H2”, now glue only between the arrows where it says “lijm”. Yes , “lijm” is dutch glue.
In the space between “H1” en “H2”, at the very bottom , will fit strip “H3” once the backbox is almost completed

Now the three folding lines from the backbox-top to the translite. Left there’s the little picture with 135° , 45° and -90°
where it shows how to fold this one.
So, top backbox horizontal, then slant to the inside, horizontal to the inside and final the translite straight down.
Glue white strips “H2” to the inside top of the backbox.
First try to fold the rest of the backbox together without glueing to see how it fits, especially how H3” fits between “H1” en “H2
Now glue “H5” and then “H3” and “H4”

Playfield “S”: bring up the three dark sides and glue the two corners. Glue it into the cabinet. Fold “K5c” over the playfield

Cabinet-siderails / lockbar “B” is already pre-fold in the beginning of the instructions.
Depending on how your copy is printed, without resizing, it should fit a piece of transparent plastic of 37 x 78 x 0.2 mm
(that’s approx. 1 7/16 x 3 1/16 x 1/16 inch) , glue it at the backside of “B”
Glue it together with cabinet “K”

Glue and place Backbox “H” on the cabinet “K”
Glue the two joints “J” under the backbox
Glue the gun together and place it on the Cabinet right next the (coin)-door
And finally the legs “L”.

Enjoy, good luck and lot of patience,
Sascha Voskuil

I'm pleased to announce that The Matrix pinball will be making it's UK debut at NERG! (North East retro Gaming)

June 29th & 30th

#123 11 years ago

We're looking forward to it.

#125 11 years ago

I bet you should create 2756 conversion kits as they were that many JM made any you never know every JM owner may want one

#126 11 years ago

Pinpeet and I got invited to Peer's house yesterday. We got to play the Matrix for about 3 hours but I'm not sure that was enough to see all that they put in to this game. What a monster job this must have been. The game is deep and I'm not sure I've ever played a game with so much flow.
Almost every shot gets delivered back to one of the flippers for the next shot.
Peer pointed out a lot of cool details like how the grid of nine lights in the back counts down the ball-save timer.
I can recommend everyone to go and check this machine out if you can and hope Peer will find the
time to make more Matrix machines for some lucky owners.

#127 11 years ago

I'm in for a kit.

#128 11 years ago

Simply Amazing, you guys did an amazing job, I love my JM but I love the Matrix even more and if you did a kit I would be in to buy one. I was on the fence about attending Chicago this year as I havnt been since 2010 but if this is gonna be there Im going for sure!

#129 11 years ago

Peer,
Your Matrix pinball machine looks and sounds amazing. I'm so glad to hear that you will be bringing it to the Chicago Expo in October. I can't wait to see it in person and have the opportunity to play it.

#130 11 years ago

Pinpeet and Apekop.
Thnx for your positive feedback.
I think we did a great job but when others confirm that, thats a magnificent compliment.

@pinballgeek. What do you think is the best show in the UK to show it?

Uk pinball party 2013 the biggest uk event every year over 100 machines George Gomez is gonna be there and Andrew heighway runs the show and this year maybe revealing full throttle and if lucky his next game. so NERG Is a small show with only 15 pins so go to ukpp2013
It's on August 9th to 11th if not northern lights is the second biggest in October

#132 11 years ago

Excuse me, NERG may be a smaller event but it has more than 15 pins. Where did you get 15 pins from? There has always been more than 15.

At the last count, there are going to be 40 pins. Still more to come.

Northern Lights Pinball is also going to be attending NERG.

Please go to the website and read up about it. www.northeastretrogaming.com

#133 11 years ago

NERG will be the first visit to the UK for THE MATRIX.
Even if it's a small event like you say. We are looking forward to it.
Philips entusiasme did it for us.

I know Andrew, mayby we can work something out as well.

Quoted from Peer:

Thnx everyone.
My idea is to transform a JM in to a The Matrix go way back.
I always had the idea that the movie JM was a prequel of The Matrix
but most of all, i love JM the pinball machine.
I have about 35 Machines (MM,CV,CC,MB you name it) and the JM is my favorite.
we spend a year to realize this, 2000 men hours and eleven people that help me.
Dennis van de Pas did a 1000+ hours work in the software (P-Roc).
The playfield is airbrush with 40 layers of clearcoat.
Here,s another gameplay video made by Pinball News at the Dutch Pinball Open.
» YouTube video

The fact that you said you like JM over those other games vindicated me in a big way, I've been saying that about JM too...but there is so much detractors and smack talk about this pin makes you wonder whose right....nice work, if you ever sell a kit, I'd have to buy another JM.

#137 11 years ago

29 have been announced "SO FAR" on the website. There are still another 13 to announce if you want the exact number. So actually, more than 40 will be at the event.

If you'd been following NERG progress from the beginning, and across the UK forums, you'd know that machine announcements are done almost daily. The UK community have been very generous with donations and I'm actually spoilt for choice on machines, that's why the rest haven't been announced. It's not known which ones will be picked to be at the event.

If you'd like to talk about the event to understand it in full, drop me a PM and I'll give you my number.

But back on topic, BUZZING to see The Matrix!

#138 11 years ago

Still love this theme and the machine looks awesome. Hope the kit idea becomes reality!

#139 11 years ago

I'm picking up a JM this weekend. Love the pin as is.....but I would probably pay as much for a Matrix Kit as I am for the machine. Crazy I know, but this conversion is the coolest thing I've ever seen since I first entered this hobby in 2001.

#140 11 years ago
Quoted from Astropin:

Wow, thats a nice compliment.

Tonight we're gonna post another animation.
I think it's the best yet.
Cypher mode start.
Buckle your seatbelt Dorothy, because Kansas is going Bye Bye.

Soon we're gonna make some gameplay videos and a photoshoot.

Just complete pure awesomeness!

#146 10 years ago

Okay boys I just picked up a JM on Friday.....so when is my kit coming?

P.S. I'm not kidding.

#147 10 years ago

I would kick myself in the nuts for that pin. I'm not kidding either.

#148 10 years ago

I have a JM whitewood I'm having a cabinet with custom decals and chrome redone for--I'd scrap it all if a Matrix kit came available.

#149 10 years ago

A few days ago if got this clip from somebody how has been creative with the paper craft model that you can download at www.zazama.nl

I thought it was funny.

#150 10 years ago

Kickstarter for a kit and I'd put money towards it. Have never put money on a Kickstarter before, but this would be an awesome project machine....just need to find a beat up JM.

That machine is THE BEST custom pin I've ever seen and a pinball theme I'd love to own. Amazing a Matrix pinball had never been made in the first place. You guys have done an amazing job!

Cheers!
Adam.
