I am at the end of my Bride of Pinbot playfield replacement and reno and have been fortunate that things have gone so well but one issue has surfaced that I can't get to the bottom of. When the head in manual or test mode goes from the two eyes to the alive position, the head freezes at a 45-degree angle. When I remove the two eyes faceplate the head calibrates fine and will cycle normally on manual mode. There does not appear to be any obstruction or alignment issue that would cause the head to stop spinning. I can't find any other threads or info on a similar experience. If anyone has a suggestion of where to look I would be extremely grateful! It is torture to have come so far and not be able to play even one game.

Did you check the switch inside the head.
I think there is one that closes or opens based on faceplate location
My guess is that it works properly with the plate off because the plate isn’t interacting with that switch properly maybe keeping it stuck closed and when off it does not
Just a guess without looking at my BOP documentation but I will check it

You may also want to check the solder joints on the relay board under the playfield. It's mounted to the lower left of the playfield when you have it in the upright position. If the joints are cracked her face can do some strange things.

High_End_Pins mollyspub Thank you both!!! Though neither was my issue, if it wasn't for you I would not have discovered I am my own worst enemy. When I went checking out the Relay and Regulator boards I took my 101st look at the head movement. I removed the faceplate while on the 45-degree angle and to make a long story short I used the wrong screw to attach the arrow between the eyes. The screw head was binding up the head. I replaced the screw with the correct one and viola her beautiful face moves again. Thank you both for taking the time to help me out!
