Just joined the club! My machine has been on location, but the playfield is nice, everything works, and no broken or missing pieces. First question: suggestion for color dmds? Lcd or led?

Any mods i should be looking for? Toppers?
Thank you for the suggestions, im already addicted

#4538 4 years ago

A few more questions -
Are the pop bumpers supposed to be weirdly shaped? trying to figure out if they are like that naturally or if mine has chips out of it.
Any suggestions for a good topper?
Planning on Palantir mod, any other amazing mods I should seek out?
Thanks again

#4544 4 years ago

Thanks for the suggestions everyone!
Got the color dmd and palantir ordered!
is it worth it to upgrade speakers? Speaker recommendations? Loving this game

Just picked up a LOTR that had been routed a few years ago. Some good things, some not so good. Has color dmd, path of the dead mod, needs a shop job, some guy spray painted the wireforms gold. Any thoughts suggestions, recommendations before i get started?

Quoted from Pin_Guy:

All you have to do is look at the color of the 2 switch wires, then locate the switch that uses those colors on the switch matrix.
For example if your connector contains a White wire with an Orange stripe and a Green wire with a Blue stripe, it would go to switch 43 (Left Top Lane).
[quoted image]
If you are still unsure of the location, you can fine the switch number on the playfild switch locator shown below.
[quoted image]
One of the connectors you show has red and yellow wires, this is not a switch connector at all, its a lamp connector and you dont want to put this in the wrong spot. It should be fairly easy to find out which lamp isnt working, or you can look it up in the lamp matrix using the exact same process as the switch matrix.

Got it all back together! Thanks chief. Still needs a lot, especially a flipper rebuild, but everythings connected. Thank you again!

Anyone have or know where to find an extra #07 plastic? The one that holds the Uruk holding the head? (Back right corner of the machine by the tilting tower) My machine didn't come with either of them. I found an Uruk online but can't find anything but complete plastic sets.

Quoted from yyyyyikes:

Reckon I have a spare...you need just the plastic?

I think.... probably the figure holder that goes on top as well, although I think I saw that Pinbits sells replacement figure holders. I'll send you a DM.

BIIIIIIG shoutout to Yyyyikes for helping me out with the 2 plastics I'm missing. Didn't want to have to purchase a new full set. Thanks again!

In the middle of restoring my LOTR. (Ramps and wireforms are off to Pinball plating for brass) and I noticed my #6 plastic (far back left corner) is broken and missing. (This machine was heavily routed before I got it) Anyone know where I can pick up a spare #6 and maybe an Arwen (even a repro is fine) plastic? I'd like to exhaust other options without dropping crazy prices for a full set. If anyone has spares I could probably use the extra thick plastics and a backboard decal, but now I'm just being picky about mine. More than happy to pay if anyone has spares!

I thought pinball center stopped delivering to the USA

#6200 3 years ago

And on that note, if there IS anyone able to get a pinball center shipment delivered to me in the US, I'd be happy to pay for the hassle.

Hey folks, i picked up a heavily routed LOTR a while ago and have finally started going through it.
Both playfield wood rails need replaced due to damage. Does anyone have decent photos of the posts and holes on the left rail? Trying to figure where these spiky posts go on the new left rail im building.

Hey folks, finally working on my LOTR a year after I planned. I picked up this piece so long ago I dont remember where it goes. I THINK its a mod to prevent airballs on one of the ramps or something, but dont recall exactly. Anyone recognize this?

Quoted from drummermike:

It goes on the end of the left ramp. It replaces the ugly piece of plastic hanging over the ramp.

This one? Sorry im not fully reassembled. Lots of parts in the tumbler at the moment. Thank you in advance

Does anyone have a part number for the post that goes here? To the right of the ramp. Doing the slow process of reassembling my LOTR and i think i lost a few pieces while tumbling the hardware.

Perfect! Thank you! Just needed to see the order they went in

#7302 2 years ago

Ok hopefully last question for awhile. Have these 3 plastics. Pretty sure the far right one is a key chain but wanted to double check and didn't see where the other two could go. Pf is fully repopulated except path of the dead now

Quoted from Chalkey:

I think the middle one is a clear protector for the gimli saucer or the shire area and the one on the right is a key fob. Is the one on the left also clear / no print? Is it a figure mount?

Middle was shire protector, right is key chain. No clue on left
