Quoted from NicoVolta:It is regrettable the extraordinary number of people who refuse to change... even when it is free, even when it is easy to do, even when it saves money, even when it lightens their environmental load, even when it helps their neighbors, even when it requires less maintenance, even when loads of statistics and research indicate we should, even when it is the right thing to do, even when it espouses what they say they believe in (but do not personally follow).
American hypocrisy has reached such an un-freaking-believably-insane level of madness it makes me question whether merely anti-intellectual laziness is the culprit, or whether a far greater swath of Americans are actually mentally ill than we have ever acknowledged before.
A contrarian might say...
"It is regrettable the extraordinary number of people who refuse to change..." = Number of people that dont just echo the establishments agenda/narrative without questioning the motive or wanting unbiased proof
"even when it is free," = nothing is free, someone's either paying for it directly for another person or using tax money
"even when it is easy to do," = sure just dish out the extremely affordable price of an EV to get started
"even when it saves money," = only would be true if the car was free to the new owner or cheaper than an ICE, however see second bullet
"even when it lightens their environmental load," = the load shifts to the utility also there are literally 1000s of sources that confirm how sourcing just the batteries is an extreme environmental concern, the massive earth mover construction vehicles are ICEs that pump out enough pollution to offset all the batteries they mine
"even when it helps their neighbors," = WTF, what about the people that neighbor the mines?
"even when it requires less maintenance," = ok maybe thats true...
"even when loads of statistics and research indicate we should," = figures provided by bought scientists in bed with those that push the narrative
"even when it is the right thing to do," = subjective, see point about agenda and narrative above
"even when it espouses what they say they believe in (but do not personally follow)." = much like someone that argues for EV but still drives an ICE
"American hypocrisy has reached such an un-freaking-believably-insane level of madness it makes me question whether merely anti-intellectual laziness is the culprit, or whether a far greater swath of Americans are actually mentally ill than we have ever acknowledged before" = I agree with this, but i feel like my stance is directed the opposite way yours is
