I was just curious, because I have an unheated garage and I never have to heat or cool the car based on the garage temps.

I don't either, and I can't with my ICE truck - but it would probably be something I do when I get my EV

I have an insulated but unheated garage attached to my house. I sometimes use my EV in the winter to warm the garage so I can perform some ICE related auto maintenance on one of my other vehicles, works great. Crank the heat, open the doors, come back in 20 mins.

When my house was built, we insulated the garage and installed an electric wall heater that I have set to the low 50's - works well and doesn't run that often

Welcome to the thread that goes round and round with the same banter back and forth over and over. Each time someone new sees it and pops in with their view (that’s been beat to death on both sides of the issue).
Full disclosure, I love EVs and started the thread as a place for haters to bring all their angst and keep it out of other, more positive threads (like the Cybertruck thread).
No apologies needed. I’m just here having fun. I got a few good laughs and it’s nice to see a few people lighten up and realize I’m here shit posting funny ev memes and gifs. Someone needs to start a Harry and Megan thread so we can use all that new material for the latest episode!

The cybertruck thread died off at the same time as progress on the cybertruck died off. Sadly. I’m still eager to get mine but I can’t imagine it will be before 2024 or 2025.

Tesla prices went up, almost monthly, for two years due to the pandemic, chip shortages, etc along with increased prices in materials. Model Y AWD went from $50k to $65k during this 18 month timeframe. Elon even said when they could cut costs again they would.
Now that goods are stabilizing, chips are available, and they've implemented production improvements the prices have come back down and the first thing the media runs to is a demand problem. Nevermind that the new prices are still higher (Model Y AWD) than they were two years ago or that the delivery numbers continue to climb every quarter.
It's a "can't see the forest for the trees" mentality.
On this topic, not everyone realizes this but Tesla does no advertising. They sell most every car they make quickly, often with 2 month (or longer) wait times.
The demand is there.

Its amazing that people thought the elements/minerals used in batteries, which are finite and incredibly costly to get from the earth would, in the long term, just be thrown away.
