Got some cool shit? A great topper? A limited edition pinball machine that you could sleep with? Really, really clear glass that makes your playfield colours pop like a champagne cork?

Tired of complaints about how expensive everything is all the time?

Well come on in and celebrate your cool stuff in an environment where the centre of attention is, guess what, your cool stuff!

One rule.. don't mention money, ever.

    .

I've got so much PDI glass I could build a tempered glass skating rink with it. It's fking cool. I can't get enough of it.
When I ordered my Alien LE I ticked every freaking option box I could find. All that shit is just too cool to not have.

Does it have to be pinball related? If not, here is my totally impractical and way to expensive possession. Wouldn't trade it for the world. Well, maybe for a brand new one

To funny. Still have and love my Vette. Heck, it's not uncommon for me to pull up in that and for at least half a dozen guys to come up to check out the "Corvette" as they call it.

And OP is thinking - Damn pinside. Less than 5 post to officially derail a thread

Bahaha, I suppose it's a little to much to handle for some folks

    On a smaller scale,
When I am restoring a game that I like I will buy the repro backglass because I want to.
I dont care what it costs because I am not interested in how much money I will get back.

    #13 7 years ago

I dont care what it costs!

I ALWAYS buy Best Foods mayo instead of Kraft or oddball grocery store brands.

    There, I said it....

    #14 7 years ago

oh, and that mustang was sweet

    ***Sold***

    Ok, I'll play:

TAF NOS clear coated playfield. Needs to be drilled, but perfect in every way. Selling it to help me get to GB Premium.

    PM me please.

Came here to see if someone shares an original Laser War topper. PM me if you want to sell it. Thanks! P.S. - nice vehicles and stuff!

I needed a new right slingshot plastic for my Pinbot because the red ink was faded. That's really all the game needed. So I bought a whole CPR Pinbot plastics set. And a CPR playfield. And a CPR mini playfield. I still don't know why.

I bought a 10,000 sqft house with a huge pool and 5 acre lot with amazing views and then spent another 10% of that cost on my arcade and theater and then almost 10% of that cost on my favorite pin, my WOZRR! I have my parents to thank for the fortunate life I live. I think their policy of seeing their children and grandchildren enjoying their inheritance now instead of after their death is a great one.

I don't have a Viper or a Corvette but am strongly considering a Tesla P100D.

Quality "Entertainment" at the next Bachelor or Super Bowl Party.

I dont care what they cost!!

    #24 7 years ago

I have over paid, technically, for a couple of games. When i tell other pin heads what I spent they think im crazy even though it was less than $500 more than the "going" rate. To me id rather be playing pinball than wishing, waiting, and checking classified ads every 10 min like a crack head. If i lose a couple hundred bucks on a sale big deal, I chalk it up to money saved on coin drop and beers drank at a local spot. Thats even assuming you can find the games i like to play in the wild.

The Aztec Tomb and Steve Holt's letter jacket. It cost, like, eighteen grand!

Let's just hope you never get to the point with that purchase where you say, "I've made a huge mistake".

Side note: Got to meet Tony Hale last summer. Warm, sincere, and truly a nice guy. Hilarious, too.

Side side note: He was on the Men in Blazers show last year and when the lights got turned off at the end, he screamed "I'm a monster!!". I got to ask him about that he said it was his idea to do it. He also said that the studio they film that in is about the size of a small custodial closet, just as it appears on TV.

A very small number of beers; it doesn't matter what they cost. I'm buying them. Also, a few beers I have, it would take silly money for me to part with them.

    Hot rods, man..... Hot rods.

    Rich people

    #40 7 years ago

Not necessarily. I was hoping for pinball related things that were that few extra hundred bucks, but in the eye of the beholder are totally worth it and the cost was not even considered.
My Tron LE has some weird type of wear around the shoot again insert that looks like it's under the clear. Rest of the PF is spotless. The untrained eye never notices it but it makes my skin crawl every time I see it. I now have a new TronLE playfield that is properly cleared ready to go in. Crazy right? And if I ever sell the game the money is gone. BUT, I don't care. Had to do it.

I do the same with my pins or did. I can't waste the money now.

    #43 7 years ago

We all own pinball machines, isn'tthat enough?

    #44 7 years ago

It is most interesting what we're willing to spend money on. Everyone has their thing. Travel, cars, kids and, yes, pins. Paid more for TAF than it was worth, have had to do some serious work on it and I don't care one little bit. Always wanted the game and the price just didn't matter.

    Unfortunately I'm also into cars.
