My Windlance Up Post on Hobbit stopped working.I have no voltage on coil now.
Visually wires look ok.
I guess I have a break somewhere?

Check fuses though something else would probably not be working if this was the case. Make sure you're testing with the access door closed as there's a safety switch. Trace wires back and see if there's a loose connection. Call JJP if all else fails

All fuses good.Coin door closed.
This is the only coil with a problem.
I have continuity from the wires at the coil all the way to where they go into the big wiring harness protector in bottom of cabinet

You may have problem on the main board. Talk with JJP to diagnose (Best to call directly). It cost about $85 to send yours in for repair if out of warranty.
In my case a coil was stuck ON with my WOZ. Lloyd and the others are great diagnosing over the phone.

Actually it has voltage.
I was looking for 70 volts and realized this is a 20V coil.
I have voltage but it doesn't work in game or test mode.

Thanks I'll give them a call after the holiday.
I was hoping to fix it before the big party today.
It makes the game unplayable because as soon as you hit the right ramp the diverter kicks it over to Windlance and ball just drains...

Coil is bad most likely. If it shows signs of overheating replace but be prepared to immediately shut off if it's stuck on due to something else

With my WOZ I blocked off the area with pull ties temporarily so it was playable (I'm not too familiar with the Hobbit)
You might find an identical coil under the playfield in a not too critical area and swap it but I'd wait for a replacement.
Also a good idea to order 2 coils from JJP in case this happens again - it's the shipping that's expensive.

Coil reads 10 ohms and shows no signs of overheating.
I did unplug the ramp diverter which kicks the ball to the area not working.
It's playable now but not with Windlance options to kill Smaug. No one playing today would do it anyway, lol.
Thanks for your help sir.
I'll look into a fix after holiday weekend.

Is it missing the rubber stopper on the bottom of the coil plunger? Try testing it and slowly lift up the plunger and it may fire

Awesome I'm glad I could help. Mine had the same problem and all I did was pick up the coil with my fingers to figure it out. Have fun!!
