I asked the same question back when the pf sketch was released. I'm still wondering.

Edit: just found it. And still wondering about the upper flipper.

I saw the playfield, and granted you can't tell how good a game is, or how it will play, before you play it... buuuuuuutttttttttttttttttttttttttt

I don't see the point of the third flipper. In fact, the shot variety in general looked sparse for a widebody.

It is like the third flipper on Eight Ball Champ....... It is there and you can use it but you don't have to.....

Off the top of my head.

FUNHOUSE - I get it.
STTNG - I get it.
SPIDER MAN - I get it.
ADDAMS FAMILY - I get it.
WHITE WATER - I get it.
NO GOOD GOFERS - I get it.
DEMOLITION MAN - I get it.
BLACK KNIGHT 2000 - I get it.
TRON - I get it.
STERN STAR TREK - I get it.

BONZAI RUN - is the closest example i can find for a useless 3rd flipper

Maybe it's a spare? If one of the two bottom flippers break you can swap in the UR flipper and you're back in business again without drastically affecting the gameplay.

Be thankful they got rid of the 4th flipper!

Wait, what's the point of the lower left flipper on this one?

To deflect attention from JokerSmaug and Bilbo's Book.

Two would not look good on the pre-order form.
