You probably played one that wasn't set to a steep enough pitch of 7.2 degrees and have flipper strength set to compensate. This was the typical setup and why it played floaty and overall bad. It's a shame so many people had this experience.

I learned some things and it was fun to watch. I did not know about the ability to select the right or left VUK from the magnet catch.
