So, Ive had my Hobbit awhile. I was so worried about the layout that I went back and forth wondering if it was the right decision to purchase the machine. At this point, I'm really glad I did. I didn't think I would like it as much as I do. The loops and holes are challenging shots and add to the game. The ramps aren't difficult, but they still are fun to shoot, and can actually be a little tough in MB. The rules in the game are very interesting so far, so it's not like I get bored of the shots at all. I looked at reports and after more than a month, I still hadn't played 2 of the 31 modes. Ive seen 2 of the Arkenstone modes and they are fun and different from the Smaug MB and Beast MB.
The only thing I wish was slightly different, which has been stated here, is that Beast MB starts often while in Smaug MB, and kind of hurts the Smaug progression. There's almost no way to keep from starting it while in Smaug. Maybe Keith will add a little more of a goal with Beast MB and separate the 2. Not sure, but if he tweaks it a little, it will help in my opinion. In WOZ, it's easy to keep Rescue MB and the main MB separate, but you can combine them if you like to set it up for that, and that's a positive.
As some have stated, Hobbit is a different game from GB or GOT, but not in a bad way. It really adds to a collection of fast games.
