should be soon now...

#157 8 years ago
Quoted from PACMAN:

Are they shipping with spare ramps?

No. Why would they??

#169 8 years ago

Looks cool! That doesn't even show the twenty-some-odd modes!

#171 8 years ago
Quoted from pauloz:

It's way more than we've seen to date.

Absolutely...just pointing out that there is way more to the game than that shows. Still, impressive set of rules. And look, a rule for the upper flipper.

4 hours of the Hobbit gameplay. Some rules explanation and a lot of the back screen video.

Nice, thanks!

That is a beautiful cabinet.

#218 8 years ago
Quoted from Skyemont:

Are the Smaug's numbered? I have number #661. Is this on the game?

It will show on the display for sure...not sure about a plaque like WOZ.

#219 8 years ago
Quoted from txstargazer3:

Yes, an SE. One of those beauties in the photo must be mine. Three days of pinball heaven at TPF then my new game arrives next week. What a week!

What decals did you go for? Radcals or regular? Did you get the pf protector.

#226 8 years ago
Quoted from JoeJet:

The LEs are numbered but more limited (in theory) SE is not?..or is that the SE and we will know how many will be made?

The LEs have 1500, the SEs an unknown number presumably less than 1500.

Quoted from Eskaybee:

I thought jjp games came with headset connection?

They do...with LE/SE at least. He added the external master volume controls, not the headphone connection.

#297 8 years ago
Quoted from Eskaybee:

Ah ok cool. Headset connector is $100 and I need it for all my games cause of my open game room to living room. Good to hear as I take that, invisiglass, shaker, etc.... All into account when budgeting these high dollar toys

The solenoid aren't too loud but the sound of the game is? If you want it even quieter, get the pf protector add-on. Those really quiet a game down.

#305 8 years ago
Quoted from pauloz:

I wasn't going to bother with getting the Rad-Cals but hearing people who did rave about how good they look has made me think about reconsidering. Do they really look that much better than the standard ones? Do they look as good as WOZ does?

I haven't seen one in person, only decals...but I've heard they look even better than the direct print WOZ cabs. That would be amazeballs because the direct print cabs are spectacular!

Quoted from Jvspin:

Differences are only cosmetic, they all play the same.
Standard and LE have the same cabinet art. Smaug SE has the dragon lower cabinet art (same on both sides).
Standard has stainless steel armor, red Smaug head. Does not have invisiglass or shaker.
LE has veined dark copper armor and red Smaug head.
Smaug SE has veined bronze armor and gold accented Smaug head. Also has different attract screen.

Standard is missing the sling axes and barrel pop bumpers...not sure what else.

Quoted from docdeath:

I surmise that the radcals are for the cab. only, not the back box or front. It would be nice if it included the sides of the back box.
Another question? How many LE's are they making and are they finishing & shipping the Gold LE Smaug first. I ordered my LE Hobbit on 12/13 (bad luck?)/2013. At that time, Jen said I just missed the $7500 order including shipping. At that time, they were only making 1000 LE's and I opted for #1000 (#'s 666, 43, 15, 20,etc.,were taken). Later, I was informed via Pinside that the LE number had increased to 1500 and the Gold Smaug edition was introduced. Are they making 1500 LE Hobbit's and an additional number of Smaug LE's?
Has any pinsider received the LE Hobbit, not the LE Smaug Gold addition?

Radcals are for all cabinet sides (including front and head).

Smaug 11 has arrived...though work prevents me from getting her unboxed until the weekend. Will be a long week waiting to get home.

Quoted from pauloz:

Really looking forward to some photos of the unboxing and your first impressions.

Me too! Another tease...and new code dropped today! Woohoo!

#534 7 years ago
Quoted from txstargazer3:

It is called a Newton Ball setup. The front ball is fixed in place and when you shoot a ball into it, the energy is transferred to the loose ball behind it and it travels up the track to hit a target behind it. It is a fun feature.

Yes, it is really just a cooler target.

#557 7 years ago
Quoted from ptrav1:

Good evening. This may already be posted but with the latest code do the two upper magnets beneath the ramps do anything? Just got my Hobbit and I don't think I saw those active once.

Probably coming more with code, but I've seen the upper left one work when completing the "Thief in the Night" mode. Gives a nice pause to enjoy a movie by dropping it in the subway. I've not seen the upper right one work yet so probably not in code yet.

Here's a pic of the scratch...make sure to bend down that tab that holds the ring light ... or else...

Yeah, that bracket isn't bent right. The LED should be pointed up. It's missing another bend I believe.

Open a ticket on the support site.
LTG : )

I did and haven't heard anything on it. Are kits being sent out?

#677 7 years ago
Quoted from hillbilly:

I submitted a ticket and they sent me the kit earlier last week. Was more concerned about the springs breaking but I will admit, I'm not have problems. My game is playing great.

Ramp flap kit? I got the other kit.

Quoted from thewool:

Anyone at Expo notice if the Black Arrow edition had hammered black side rails/legs (same effect as the LE and SE), or just standard black paint. Thanks.

Not hammered.

Quoted from konghusker:

Install it. It's worth it and I've had no issues other than black screen in barrel escape.

Don't you mean "Battle of Five Armies"?

#714 7 years ago
Quoted from Vyzer2:

^^^^^^
You did have a black screen during the battle of the five armies.

LOL, yes he did.

Quoted from Ranhorton:

A coworker of mine came over the other night for dinner. For the record, he's not a pinhead. He saw my THLE and asked if we could play it. His jaw hit the floor. Absolutely amazed by the integration of artwork, lighting and video. He's a photography director in my department and a documentary he worked on earlier this year was accepted and being reviewed by the academy as an Oscar contender.
He's a harsh critic and is beyond impressed with THLE.
Well done Team JJP!
You are definitely turning heads.

Those are the types of guys that usually fall over from shock or crap themselves when discovering the actual price of one.
