Nice, thanks!
Quoted from pauloz:Anyone got any news? Got theirs coming soon?
Yep, Jen called me today. Smaug is on the truck and will be here next week. I am a Day 1 order.

Are you getting a SE or LE? ... or Smaug must mean SE. Must have been one of those pictured in recent posted pics.
Game looks gorgeous. I've got the money for this or a WOZ Standard. I'm still thinking WOZ more for the sheer amount of "stuff" in that game. Theme wise, I vastly prefer the Hobbit. But toys and shots go to WOZ for me (also, the playfield on Hobbit just looks so empty). Still want to play one, though...
Question - not meant to sound like a troll - but what's the point of the upper flipper? From the geometry, it looks like it's 100% not necessary?

Yes, an SE. One of those beauties in the photo must be mine. Three days of pinball heaven at TPF then my new game arrives next week. What a week!
Anyone have an idea what kind of mods are being developed for TH? Looks like Pinnovators has a topper in the works! http://www.pinnovators.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=68&osCsid=jqp5g7hb0ud0q5aoed11q58et6

Copied from a rulesheet posted on Tilt Forums (hope that's okay).
"Super Jets
After shooting the pop bumper barrels enough times, Super Jets will start. Further jet shots will load dwarves into barrels, which can be kicked over by using the upper right flipper to hit the flashing DWARF target. Kicking over 5 dwarves is one of the two requirements to light Extra/Ball on the Left/Right VUKs."
Sheesh, Jack. Looks like Pat's next game is going to be "Jack's New Hip."
Eagerly awaiting Smaug #31!

Cool, thanks. I should check out the rule sheet, ha.
Jen called me last Friday to let me know mine was ready. I'm hoping to pick it up this Saturday. I am also a day 1 order, trying to sell my Congo so I have enough to pay my balance, if that doesn't happen by Saturday then I'm waiting longer. Someone please buy my Congo!!

That is a beautiful cabinet.
Quoted from Skyemont:Are the Smaug's numbered? I have number #661. Is this on the game?
It will show on the display for sure...not sure about a plaque like WOZ.

What decals did you go for? Radcals or regular? Did you get the pf protector.
Quoted from Pimp77:That is a beautiful cabinet.
Isn't it just. The more I see it, the more I like it.

The LE was numbered!
The LEs are numbered but more limited (in theory) SE is not?..or is that the SE and we will know how many will be made?
Quoted from JoeJet:The LEs are numbered but more limited (in theory) SE is not?..or is that the SE and we will know how many will be made?
The LEs have 1500, the SEs an unknown number presumably less than 1500.

Got the Radcals but not the pf protector. Having a great time at TPF!

Was told by Jack today that the SE's will be numbered just like the LE', right on the apron.
Quoted from Skyemont:Is this your's?
No not mine.. I was lucky enough to have played at the local distributor. Awesome Game.
Quoted from Skyemont:Was told by Jack today that the SE's will be numbered just like the LE', right on the apron.
Interesting.. that was my question..but I also heard they would not say how many SE will be produced.. so SE #160.. or 160 of XXX where XXX changes the story and we know how limited it is.

I don't think the number has to do w/ how many SE's there were. I think from what i am told, less than 500 SE's have been sold. My number is #661 but does not mean 661 have been made.
It is actually pretty simple. Anyone that wanted to buy or switch to a Smaug edition could do it by December 31st. Some (like me) switched. Some distributors ordered SEs to have in stock. You could pick any number you wanted that was not already claimed. Numbers are not sequential. Numbers will be on the game but will not say "of xxx".
None of us know how many pins JJP makes for sure. Looking at the number on an SE will not provide any clues.
I played The Hobbit earlier this evening at TPF and enjoyed it immensely. Heading back downstairs to play again now. If you have one of these on order, you're in for a treat!
GB Pro is very impressive and fun and so is SM VE.

Agh man your killing me. I can't afford all 3, but want all 3! Lol.

Jack said that he's got 1800 Hobbits spoken for. I'd assume that if there were 1500 LE's , that would leave 300 to be divided up between the Standards and SE's. Or has he not sold out of the LE's yet?

Probably more like 1200 LE's + 300 SE's + 300 Stds. That leaves 300 LE's remaining that can be sold plus unlimited Stds. Could we see a Hobbit 62nd Anniversary edition?

Yea, that kind of stinks. To me it says the LE could actually be less limited than the SE since majority of LE owners probably switched for the free value add and distributors could have purchased any number. That raided the 1500 LE which allowed them to "re-sell" up to 1500 LE which (who knows) may not have even been sold yet.
Would be nice to know is the SE was at least as limited as the LE since I have an SE on order and prefer the look of the LE but want the more limited pin.

I figured when they announced the SE with a cut-off date of 12/31 that it would be the most limited model. It was a difficult decision not to switch and if value was my highest priority I would have. By the time we had to make a decision, we didn't even have any good photos of the trim and I liked the LE cabinet art more. Since then, they changed the finish of the trim and both look great, but I still like the look of the LE art and trim better.
Quoted from frankmac:I would assume 1000# SE Smaug Gold. . But what do I know...
From an inside source I was told 500ish SE's but the exact number will not be released to the public. FWIW

I flipped to SE when I was offered the chance. I hadn't seen or played either. I do actually love the LE art & armor, however, the SE swayed me a tad more to switch.
Great news... we'll all be seeing and hearing about unboxing VERY soon on both versions.
Congrats! I can't wait for ours to get here (with RADcals too)...Get off the internet and go play already!
Awesome!! I ordered with RADcals also, when you get a free chance after playing, could post some close ups of gold rails, legs, and RADcals?? too cool enjoy!
CONGRATS. Just seems like there should be more people posting based on Hobbits being shipped over 2 weeks ago. Still confused. Its like one a week.

No confusion. These are the first machine's going into private collectors hands. The others went to operators Distributors and personal friends / affiliates.

I'm more confused now.
