Quoted from Sammy31:

Oh man... Not til Junish now? I'm with Playdium also.

Yes, but apparently they have a bunch ordered, and the deliveries will be from April to start of June. Depending on when you ordered, it could be April....or May, or start of June.
Good luck.

#152 8 years ago

Just looking at those numbers it would seem I have the highest one so far LE #914 + playfield protector (via distributor). No date given.

I'm guessing i'll be waiting a while, which is fine

#153 8 years ago

Are they shipping by order date, or by machine #, by order paid in full, or the "who the heck knows" method? My logic says that if you order earlier, you should get your machine earlier.

Pretty sure its by order date, but we will see.

#155 8 years ago

Not manufactured by machine # since you could request a specific # when you ordered, or change it later, like I did.

By the reports of folks it looks roughly by order date, but I'm sure the distro orders, intl, and other factors will impact your experience.

No. Why would they??

Read the other thread about ramps breaking on test machines.

#160 8 years ago

Got a Ring and miniature Thorin key for when the machine arrives. Will either use as discreet playfield props or as key rings.

Right, WOZ code update out of the way, now full steam ahead getting The Hobbit out the door.

I think the ramp replacements will delay it a few days or so.

Yes, I am sure we would all prefer they got it right before sending them out, even if it means an extra few days.

Looks cool! That doesn't even show the twenty-some-odd modes!

It's way more than we've seen to date.

Absolutely...just pointing out that there is way more to the game than that shows. Still, impressive set of rules. And look, a rule for the upper flipper.

#172 8 years ago

There was always going to be a reason for the upper flipper, just some people couldn't work out what.

#173 8 years ago

BTW : I'm out of THSE #859

I was told today by Jen, Hobbits are shipping next week.

That's great. Can't wait to see some unboxing photos.

Played it last night at Louisville Arcade Expo. Only two balls. Was fun and still looking forward to getting mine. Maybe a little excitement is lost by seeing it before getting it but I wasn't going to pass on the chance while amazingly being in town while the expo was on. My takeaway is that it's obviously not a Stern game and not a BW game, and so it's not going to play like those games. It's a different approach to pinball which is about having fun playing shots and progressing through the tasks - with a great sound, light and video show accompanying you on the journey. One thing was clear to me and that was the ball being affected by the edges of the rollovers and pop-up mechs. There was enough of an edge to change the direction of the ball. Production games will be a bit "tighter" I expect.

Played it tonight in Southern California. Only played 1 game but I LIKED it! Even though the flippers were weak and the drop targets weren't working it was still a blast. I had some crazy intense multi balls going on so I completely forgot about the useless 3rd flipper. On top of that, it is visually spectacular - I'm a super picky graphics guy so that's saying a lot.

Long story short, I went in thinking I'd hate it but that didn't happen - I'm still in and can't wait to get mine.

#179 8 years ago

Played it for the first time at Louisville this weekend. It looks phenomenal and played great! Flippers were plenty strong to hit the shots and I can already tell the ruleset is going to be great. The player has so many different options when it comes to modes and most modes are short and doable. Stacking Smaug and Beast multi balls seemed to yield some pretty good scores. The book does a great job of telling you what to do in each mode. Also each of the four skill shots is very unique. Overall, I was very impressed with the game and can't wait to get mine later this year!

Looks like Jack is getting ready for that cartwheel.

#186 8 years ago

And it's more epic than the last cartwheel

#189 8 years ago

Going to be some very happy people in the next few days.

#190 8 years ago

Love seeing this. Games are shipping. Jack has done the cartwheel. Workers are busy. Factory is ramping up. March 2016 is a sweet month indeed. Congrats to JJP & Team.

#191 8 years ago

CONGRATS INDEED. I'm in 22nd position w/ The Pinball Company. They are having 5 shipped them them w/in a few weeks. If JJP gets out 10-20 to the Pinball Company w/in the month or so, that would put me in around end of April or sometime in May. I'm good w/ that.

We received one of the games that shipped on the 8th and set it up yesterday.
They are original ramps with added welds. Should be fine.
The only problem out of the box was the shooter spring couldn't get the ball into play even with a full plunge. Hope they all don't ship with this weak spring - probably the same strength as Twilight Zone shipped with.
We threw a stronger one on there and all is perfect.
Had skinny flipper rubber - like old Gottlieb style? We changed those to regular also.

Game plays flawlessly now and is just amazing. I'm supposed to get my personal one by the end of the month.
So happy to see these shipping.

So...about 20 more updates after a complete game code.
Got to love KJ's polish to his games.

So no customers are getting theirs til April.

Just because three distributors got machines does not mean that no customer has received a machine. Not everyone who pre-ordered is a member here or posts regularly. People very well may be just enjoying their new toy without having to tell the internet all about it.
