Here you go! Un-boxing, few mods added right away, and LED lighting! Sorry I'm partial to the quality of PDI glass so put that in and out goes the Invisiglass...flipper gold covers, mirror blades, lit flipper buttons, lit legs, lit shooter assembly, LED's under and back of cabinet, LED's under top part of back play field area and front near flippers, red coin door eject buttons, Red Ring Shooter rod, powered Subwoofer, and few other little detail stuff on way! Really would like to find a Red Start button to replace yellow...anybody got an idea where I could find one? All this done before I turned it on for the first time . Time to start playing this bad boy!! Your wait will be worth it!!!!! So glad I didn't bow out...pic link below

Is there a noticeable difference between the two types of glass?

My personal opinion and experience seeing them side by side in person has me sold!

I have about 20 sheets of each. There really is it a significant difference.

Great photos.
Quoted from koops:Our ship has just docked in Melbourne!
Great, when do you expect to have it?

They are in Wayne's warehouse today and shipping out from there. Guess the locals can get theirs today if they pick it up. Another round of shipping for everyone else to their new homes.

Is yours one or those ones Chris?

Yep one is mine. He got two full containers so he has heaps! I am guessing he will deal with the locals first, then the australian orders then whoever he has over in NZ last since he has to do more paperwork for us (or maybe just me). I am hoping to have it in a couple weeks. Shipping only takes a couple days but not sure how fast he will be getting things out.
With 66 in the first shipment and another batch in 3 weeks, we are doing them in batches of 10 customers at a time, starting with Le then smaug

Picked up, unboxed and first games last night
Only JUST fit into my car in its box! Not the greatest car in the world (it's just a tribute! )
Does anyone know how I can get the games logs out via a network from the machine? Something like a syslog port etc.
I'm wanting to do some analysis of the log information that you can get via a usb dump and would rather it be automated rather than having to sneaker net the data.

Which hobbit club thread is best?
Up to you. This one was here first but it's a lot quieter here now. Not that that's an entirely bad thing.
Can I join?
THLE #251
Been sharing a bit on the other TH threads.
Not much to report except that I totally love this game and can't believe how amazing the quality is of this pin!
Gameplay is awesome too and can't wait to see what Keith has in store for us in the next update.

Quoted from pauloz:Hobbit is in the air. Should be delivered on Friday. Hmmmm what will I be doing this weekend.
Enjoy Paul! Mine is still sitting in Melbourne. I was hoping for Friday but I suspect it will not be until next week.

Yours was collected today

better than green slippers but still just ok.

The shipping company called me. I should have it next Tuesday or Wednesday. Can't wait!
Quoted from tron1969:Gold coin Flippers What do you guys think?
Not so sure about these. It looks a bit much to me but I would have to see them in person.
Steve at Pinball Refinery has done it again for me! Coin door powder coat complete with gold bling and Cliffy's protectors rock...I'm so thankful for talented modders to feed my addition
Quoted from tron1969:Gold coin Flippers What do you guys think?
I like'em quite a bit! Thinking about getting some. Do they feel like they're solidly mounted to the flippers and won't pop off?
WOW Congrats on the new game!
It was worth the wait, and it looks like you get all of the current fixes!
40 months and now its here! YAY !
Quoted from tron1969:Gold coin Flippers What do you guys think?
I for one think they are just plain gaudy. I plan on going a different route when I get my game. I won't disclose until it is done as I don't want anybody stealing my thunder.
Quoted from tron1969:They are all little gold coins that match the coins on Smaug.
Looks amazing! Nice job
Quoted from tron1969:Gold coin Flippers What do you guys think?
The game looks great, but them flipper tops, pass.
I think I just hit Orc Ambush mode for the first time in like 250 games.
Anyone else's hit this one as rarely?
It was really cool had some musical effects I had not heard before as you hit shots. At least I think that's what was triggering the "falling violin" sound, could just as easily havebeenfrommissed shots. (Falling violin because it made me think of the sound of violins trying to imitate rolling down a hill or something)
I'll have to figure out how I started it because it was really a neat mode with lots to aim at. Naturally I didn't complete it but ya...
Something else to love about this game....pleasant surprises after so many games!

Did you know that after you hit the book / time ramp (left ramp) you can hit the RIGHT flipper button to turn the page on the book while the ball is returning to the inlane. That way you can 'pick' your next mode. I didn't know that till last week and I have had the game a month! Heck of an idea - and adds to the game alot. Nice work Keith!

I did not know that, thanks!
I have a feeling I'll be learning little nuances like that for a while. Love it.
I've read this Keith gentleman did LotR too...what other awesomeness is he responsible for?

Read the pinballnews hands on review...this is one of the rules they mention...great read..
Another feature I love: After Smaug awakens he follows Bilbo's "sounds" as the ball moves around the PF. Quite like in the movie when Bilbo is wearing the ring and is invisible. Very well thought out!
Last night we showed off the new 1.35 code and Jack was in the chat room answering questions. You can watch the replay here:
