Hey chisox , don’t forget that you and the rest of the knuckleheads are coming out here for crabs.

    Quoted from poppapin:

Personally not a fan of the broccoli rabe You guys in Chicagoland have some amazing places like Portillo's, loved their Italian beef sandwich with giardinaire!!

Chicago does have some great food but allot of it is scary big.

I have had some plates that looked like they were for 3 people put in front of me.

I am all for good food but that I dont get.... I want fries sure but do I need 2 pounds of them?

    #53 14 days ago

When in LA, I recommend the El Tepeyac Cafe where you can feast on the Hollenbeck Burrito.

Bay Breeze Seafood a half mile from me has awesome Fried Jumbo Shrimp! Not too expensive either.

Wallace BBQ about 3 miles away has good BBQ, but a awesome rib-eye for what they charge.

Stoney River Steakhouse not far from the Braves stadium is pricey, but they have awesome food.

The best pizza I ever had was at Olympic Pizza, about a 40 minute drive from here.

My favorite place ever was Destinies in Fort Walton Beach, FL, sadly they closed years ago. The steak, shrimp, everything was awesome! The hushpuppies were to die for though, they had brown sugar or something in the middle. And they had a early bird special that was super awesome!

    Damn I am hungry now!

Doubled down on the beef/sausage combo last night. My heart will be fine.

Slyman's looks de-lish and piled high! Best corned beef sandwich I can find around my area is at Greenberg's Deli in Las Vegas.
    [quoted image][quoted image]

In Las Vegas, I like the Corned Beef or Pastrami at Weiss Deli (Formerly Samuels) On Sunset & Green Valley Parkway Strip mall on the SE corner. Many Bally/WMS/Shuffle Master (Scientific Games these days) Konami and JCM employees have lunch there.

Some of my friends from IGT/Anchor Games would also frequent it. Once IGT moved further west, the employees don't want to travel that far and there are no Deli's near their offices.

My son had his first taste of corned beef at Greenburg's there as we were in NY-NY and wanted to eat. He was probably ten at the time.

Weiss looks good! Lots of 5-Star reviews. I’ll have to check it out. Thanks!

The best king crab legs I’ve ever had were at Half Shell Restaurant in Chicago on Diversey near Clark. The place is a dive, but their seafood is amazing.

Perfectly seasoned beef with hot AuJus.
They expanded into Michigan about 12 years ago. It was short lived as they closed after a year. I always grab a couple when I'm in the St. Louis area.

Grab some Burnt Ends in KC. There are at least a half-dozen legit BBQ joints where you can get lunch. For dinner, you are better off paying a bit more at Jack Stack. Many of the local BBQ places have more than one restaurant, but I have best luck at the original locations. If you are really hungry, add a couple of ribs and don't forget the Red Creme Soda. If you are not a little bit concerned that your car is going to be where you left it, you are not in the right lunch joint.

I’m currently in Dallas/Frisco, any suggestions from the Texans?

While Seattle has some excellent seafood some locals may suggest a bag of Dicks.

No special restaurants but we have the Bunny Ranch here in Northern Nevada. Not for picky eaters though.

About 30 years ago I was in Houston for a job interview and when lunchtime came around the boss took me to Hooter's for lunch. I had never been to a Hooter's and didn't even know what they were at the time. I would now recommend Hooter's for their hot wings in just about ANY TOWN, USA.

If you are on an expense account, I recommend Bob’s steakhouse. It’s been a while but have fond memories of the ribeye there. It’s also a chain, but no complaints.

in Ann Arbor it would probably be Blimpy Burger. I hate to be "that guy" but it's true Zingerman's isn't what it used to be.

Also, whilst you're at a Coney Island you can get a "Hanni" (or similar) sandwhich; which is a chicken fingers in a pita with lettuce, tomato, 1 piece of a swiss and 1 piece of 'Merican cheese....as we don't want anyone leaving thinking Michigan food makes any fucking sense.

    #89 11 days ago

Alright alright! Jaybird’s scenario is exactly what I had in mind with this thread. Now he can get down on some delicious Tex-Mex (which is awesome btw) and delicious lingerie on the road. Poor guy was going to have Texas BBQ and grandma panties all week

Anyone know the record offhand for the most combos eaten in a week? In my defense, I’m in the middle of a kitchen remodel so I’m ordering out almost every night. But still kind of gluttonous haha.
