Quoted from RobT:Post pictures of your Raptor!
What's your opinion on the new one?
2014 Roush Supercharged 600hp Raptor. The Roush exhaust on this truck sounds amazing, better than any muscle car I've had in the past. It's tough to think of getting rid of this, it does everything, and does it well.. rides like a cadillac, hauls pins and arcade machines, and getting on the 600hp motor is a blast on the street or in the dirt.
I like the new Raptors coming out, but I prefer a V8 and the 6.2 motor over a ecoboosted V6. The most appealing part of the new Raptors to me is the upgraded electronics and options, like lane change warning, parking cameras, and all the new stuff. As of now I have no plans on upgrading, the Roush factory supercharged Raptors are pretty rare and I'm still smitten with this package.
I really have fell in love with the GT350 though, and my dealer wants my Raptor back badly. Wish I could haul a pinball machine in a Mustang!
Quoted from SilverUnicorn:That is SO nice. I didn't even know they made a Roush version. Love the color too. All I see around here are gray and white ones.
Chris
Thanks. It gets a ton of attention everywhere I go also.. which surprised me. I've had Z06's, Cobra's, and this gets way more attention than any of those ever did. This red color was only done in 2014, the last model year, so it's hard to find.
Quoted from Roostking:Whats the towing capacity?
I have no idea personally but the 6.2L is a towing beast. This truck is intended more for Baja and offroad racing with it's beefed up frame suspension. Just do a youtube search for Raptors jumping or off-roading. They are built very tough.
Quoted from SealClubber:I didn't know they factory supercharged the Raptors. My '11 is plenty powerful. They have plenty of power to tow, the issue is the soft suspension reduces the overall capacity compared to other models. We have a bunch of dirt/gravel roads here in Kansas and I love cruising at about 70mph down them. Rides like a Caddy on the dirt roads.
Technically, Roush supercharged it, but it's sent to Roush by Ford and sold by Ford and it gets a full warranty.. think of it like how they do up the Shelby Mustangs.
The 600HP is crazy, I have to stay off the boost down low on pavement as it will chew up the tires (and hop like hell, lol).
There has been no price announced on this.. so, this very well could be a $90K+ car. It would be cool to have one, but I like cars that have a lot of horsepower and can handle on a track.. this is a one trick pony, even if it does that one trick really, really well.
Now if I could get one at MSRP, run it hard for 6 months to a year, and sell it and not lose much, I would seriously thing of doing it.
