Quoted from RobT:I'm still doing my research, it's all speculation at this point, but the motor in the STi has been around for what...8 model years now? So it's probably time for a new one. The WRX motor is direct injection, and would get better mileage than what's in the STi right now.
And what's with all the ringland issues I'm reading about?
Still...there is a lot about the STi that really appeals to me.
Subaru has had Ring Land Issues for quite some time on the Turbos. My 2005 Legacy GT turbo had half of its motor rebuilt due to Failed ring lands with 30k miles on it under Warranty. But now its has 163k on it and still going.

Ive had a Valentine One Radar Detector for 12 years or so. Sent it back about 6 years ago to have it updated and am about to do it again.
Quoted from MrBally:An updated V1 (or the update from 6-7 years ago and disable K band to eliminate the traffic CONtrol radar) and the Waze app makes for faster travel.
Thank goodness for the 80 MPH limits in some of the Western States. and the 85 MPH limit on the toll road around Austin, Texas.
Indeed. I'm always worried to turn off K Band, thats the biggest reason I think Im going to update.. its not cheap at $289 but worth it
