Quoted from Dbaum88:IMO - after playing and rating so many pins over the past several years, I have to report that the greatest pinball machine of all time is:
Star Trek The Next Generation. Williams, 1993.
Here's my argument: Greatest modern designer (Ritchie). Greatest modern pin company, Williams. 1993 - excellent year and era for pins. Universally loved theme. Best audio ever with voice overs by numerous cast members and great ST sounds. Deep ruleset, 8 modes, numerous multiball modes. High replayability and longevity. Two cannon shooters, great upper right flipper with numerous targets, ST toys (model ships), nice back glass and gorgeous cabinet with pinks and purples. Still reasonably priced. And it's hard as heck, with some of the worst outlanes ever (they even built a mod for it). A real shooter's game with control needed to keep ball in middle of PF. I just think it has it all and is tough to beat. #2 on IPDB. #10 on Pinside.
So, do you agree? If not, what IS the best pinball machine ever?? In YOUR opinion?
