I have a lot of Zaccaria games and its the innovation that drew me in
Pinball Champ 82 had the first complete upper PF, they had to think how to get the
ball up to the second level (not split level like BK) and how to get it back down!
the ZZZ boys made a great little spring loaded wireform that eased the ball back
down to the main PF rather than letting it "freefall smash" back down
they also introduced the first elevated wireform shooter habit rail that delivered
the ball to the top of the main PF (above the traditional lane location) which in turn
frees up more "real estate" on the main PF
Then came Time Machine 1983 with the first neon tube (in the headbox) to illuminate the
first 3D molded backbox insert and a Headphone Jack located under the shooter rod!
TM has 4 flippers up front with the 2nd tier having unique "wings" to prevent drain between
the bats
It also has verbal speech directions on where to shoot in the PF down mode
eg "shoot for 1, 2 ,3" and "more to the left" "more to the right"
ZZZ games sound great as they put the speaker in an enclosure box rather than letting it go
"free air" down in the cab
Farfalla 1983 introduced the "react flippers" into the outlanes that when lit, enabled the
player 1 attempt to flip the ball back out rather than draining helplessly
its very likely Farfalla had the first "automated" computer controlled ramp
1980 ZZZ Space Shuttle had what is now considered the "standard style" coin door
which predates any Ive seen from the Williams Bally camps who still used the EM types
and then theres MR GAME......
wonder what we will see next.....& who will do it first?
nice topic
