RFM is so different from standard pins that it will stand alone.Nice in a big collection but very linear in game play.HS2 by a nose.

Ha. Pin2K was an amazing step forward 20 years ago and there is still nothing like it being manufactured today. It's just sad Williams sold out and the platform wasn't allowed to continue to develop. If Williams had stayed in the pinball business and we had another 20 years of development on the P2K platform then our world of pinball would be completely different today. Kudos to Stern for keeping pinball alive in the dark years after Williams sold out. Anyway, Getaway is a fine pin but RFM is an overlooked historical gem. No contest, RFM for being unique and original. The callouts never get old and it's an absolute pleasure to play even after months of not turning it on. Getaway is a fun pin but conventional, RFM is unique and special.

That sir, was a big blessing in disguise.

Never again in my pinball life do I want to shoot pinballs at a cartoon. Even if it's Yogi Fucking Bear.

Quoted from Rarehero:

Pretty much all of them have a "something other than the middle" component.

In RFM yeah, there is scoring potential for shooting other shots in the scene. With SWE1 no, you literally hit the middle a whole bunch to finish certain modes (with no other scoring potential) and then again to start them. Some of the modes are aren't bad though... except that musical chair one SMH.

Have owned both. Sold RFM. Both great. Slight edge to Getaway because my wife played it more.

Give RFM a second look. applejuice is making great updates and changes to code. It''s a great game. If someone's review/perception of the games is from 20 years ago they need a fresh perspective on it.

Don't think I've ever said "hit the middle" so many times in my life.

Well you could aim for the saucers that never hold the ball

Well yeah, Ep1 is a bad game and a bad way to show off what P2K can do. RFM is both a good game in its own right and a cool way to show off P2K.

What are fan layouts?

What are fan layouts?

It's what most pinsiders are a big fan of.

Basically a two flipper game where all shots fan out from a center point between the flippers.
