Hi all I just acquired and early version of the getaway and I noticed that the kicker(auto fire) doesn’t always hit it hard enough to go around the first loop. After doing some research I saw that they used a smaller coil in the first version and realized it wasn’t enough then used a larger in the second version. Am I able to put in the second version kicker assembly in mine and if so does anyone know where to find them? can’t seem to find any online.
Looking at the manual, it appears this is the coil you want (A-14789)

Should be same voltage, can't imagine they changed anything else. Make sure to wire it correctly with regard to the banded side of the diode on the coil.
If memory serves correctly, it’s not just a different coil but also a different coil mount because the A-14789 is the same size as a WPC flipper coil and the early Getaways used like a 27-1200 (don’t quote me on the coil number, using for size reference) for the ball launch.
