Really wanting one of these and in a rare position to buy. Any machines floating around the upper Midwest? Pretty flexible on condition too. Projects are ok as long as not basket cases

Now that I'm legitimately in the hunt for one of these, I'm worried about fit into my vehicle. How hard is it to remove the head box on a Genesis if needed?

Quoted from 20eyes:I hope that means you got to play mine at MGC I had the one with the clear ramps.
The thing I like about the system 80B machines is they seem easier to move. loading up at MGC rather than wait on the loading dock I took it in the elevator and over the skywalk then down the elevator and through the lobby of the hilton and out to the parking structure. If Genesis doesn't fit in your vehicle I don't know what will.
Yes, I did, and my infatuation is both the fault of yourself and I forget the name of the arcade in Binghampton.
His wasn't leveled, but it got me moderately interested. Then I played yours, which was leveled, and now I'm hooked.
I'm in the club finally, just hauled one home. Minor (I hope) flasher problem to work out but otherwise very nice condition machine is now sitting in my lineup.
Whole new beast working on System 80 for me.
I think the only thing I find really confusing is going through the test sequence and watching motors turn on while being listed as a 'lamp', and flashers fire as a 'solenoid'.
As to my flasher problem, looks like just some bad sockets to deal with. Both of the lower flashers on the ramps aren't working, but the upper ones are fine now after repinning the connector. Good continuity in the wiring, and the actual bulbs test good when I move them around. Sockets are really the only thing left to look at.

Mine is just confusing me to be honest. Both UPPER flashers are working just fine, but the lowers are completely dead.
They're wired in parallel, so if the uppers are working there's no reason the lowers shouldn't be. Wiring all checks with good continuity. I replaced one socket (only have on on hand), and cleaned/soldered up the other dead one, but with no effect.
Unless they are wired differently than the schematics?

Update:
Found the problem. The LED flashers the previous owner installed are polarized, and the lower two sockets were wired in reverse from the upper. Flipped the wires around and everything is going just fine.
I can't believe how long it took me to figure out the flashers under a ramp start to blink when that ramp is going to trigger a multiball. I kept wondering why they were flashing.
As a side note, anybody aware of any apron cards out there for Genesis? I could use something a bit nicer than the old and yellowed original on one side, and empty space on the other.

Also, Pinball Resource does list the foam washers for the window under their listings for Haunted House. Part number GTB-21219, currently listed at $0.40 each, 10 needed. Screws are GTB-FA56, priced at $0.50 each. Assuming they are the same of course.
It's real easy to overdo it with LED flashers. Mine had them when I picked it up, and the reveal flashers look pretty good, I believe they are comet 8SMD flashers.
But man, the ones under the ramps were BRIGHT. I had to buy new ones a couple times to find something that wasn't blinding. When it comes to LED flashers I'd always recommend buying the ones advertised as the least bright.

Quoted from Tomass:Is anyone making plastics for this game yet?
Thanks
I'm not aware of any reproductions being done for Genesis right now. Mine are in pretty good shape but there's a couple pieces that have small pieces chipped off. I'd love a new set.
Quoted from Chalkey:Actually got it sorted. The rear "catch" coil needed a slight adjustment. Spotting body parts and life force generator now work. Now I have to figure out why the lady motor works when the game boots up but not after hitting life force generator in game.
Did you collect all the body parts letters first?
