I just bought a Gottlieb Royal Flush 1976 in very good shape to fix because I couldnt say no to my self. I bought it from a theatre were it had been used in a theatre-play over 25 years ago, after that its just been stored and never used and they were planning to throw it away(!). Im not an total amateur and no-technical-person but Im much more familiar with electronic issues in the 80s and 90s games where I have been troubleshooting a lot.
The lamps lights up in the top box and in the coindoor when you press the power on button underneith. But when you press the credit button nothing happens. No other lamps lights up, the playfield is dark. No contacts responds, the ball is in place. All fuses are ok. No motors, counters or solenoids are powering, not a single sign for the game trying reseting and start up.

Where do I start the troubleshooting? Witch parts are the ones to suspect as weak links? THANK YOU IN ADVANCE! I know there is so much knowledge in Pinside.

Regards, the 80s and 90s pro - Sören

Quoted from Zatan:

If pressing the Replay button doesn't activate the Replay Button (V) relay,
Inspect and diagnose this circuit with Alligator clip jumper wires

Tank you a lot, I Will check these links later. I saw in my game that 3 relays in a row where loose like someone has worked with them. It was the ”Q game over-”, ”first ball-” and ”W second chute-relay”. And when I without purpose activated the "AX-relay" by hand, the lamps on the playfield lit up, including scorelamps while hitting targets. The flippers, slingshots and bumper worked. But there were no scores counted in the top box. The outholekicker didnt work and it didnt reset bonus. After turning game of and on again the playfield was ”dead” again.
Its nice with more confirmed, working, alive parts, but I still not understand where to locate the ”bad” part/parts to get the game into the start mode. Any suggestions?

The interlock AX relays can be sticky, ie dont flip during the startup process. A small bit of superlube where the two armature plates overlap helps a lot.

You need a ball going over the trough switch ( or manuelly set it) to give your solenoids powers.
Check-out your orange/brown white red contacts on that ax relay. That's part of your relay button circuit.
Check all contacts on that relay when you have it pulled.
