(Sung to 'Right Said Fred' by Bernard Cribbins)

Right said And, we need an innovation
Transparent screen tech, that's the way to go.
Was a prism, what a load of jism,
My eyesight went haywire
And then he broke the bloody screen and

Right said And, I'll do a presentation,
Unveil Circe, explain it to the proles.
Was a dead loss, hung up on the mythos,
Not quick or high-concept
And so I went and had a cry and

Andrew had a think and he said "look Dave,
My feet are getting itchy
From advice said by Mark Ritchie
Even JPop admits that he thinks the idea's shit"

And right said And, we'd better change the theme then
Need a fast one, we've got a game with flow.
Started pacing, wasn't keen on racing,
Another plan like that on the go,
But then Andrew declared that we'd do some motorbikes
And I went "oh no".

Right said And, the loop accelerator,
That's our main mech, you've got to make it go.
Out of its box looked just like a big cock
Phil* and I went "NO WAY"
And then we took some dick pics with it

Right said And, I want some flyers printed,
Early '13 release at a show.
Two years later not a sweet potater,
Promo work went nowhere
And so we faced insolvency and

Andrew said "it's time to throw the annual UK Pinball Party
Which we'll hold at the factory
And we'll save some cash even though it looks slapdash"

And right said And, we've got to get this game out,
Spruce it up quick before we meet our doom.
By committee playfield art looks shitty,
Worked my ass off to make it bloom,
Until Andrew launched Alien to get preorder funds
And FT went boom.

'So I said to Roger, "We'll just have to make a fresh start of it, that's all. You see the trouble with Andrew was, he's too arsey. You never get nowhere if you're too arsey."'

Not sure what this is about, but I enjoyed playing Full Throttle.

Full Throttle did turn out a decent game, but everything that happened there during development is true.

This is the original song:

Why not just write about what happened in plain old English?

#6 4 years ago

?????? This post makes no sense. Just like full throttle.

With this "creativity" I can see why it failed.

Thanks for sharing. Always fun to get an insiders perspective on a game they were involved with.

Can we see pics of the loop accelerator dildo? That part had me rolling

#8 4 years ago

yeah I like hearing the inside story too but just say it.....much easier to follow.

Cringe-worthy

Dave, as the first owner of Full Throttle, it is a fun game. You did a great job, especially under the circumstances.

You've posted some of the personal challenges you face in your life, so I hope and wish the best for you, to move on from the things that didn't work out the way you would have liked. All you can control are the things you have control over. Learn from that and I hope you can find some pinball success again.

Say it however you want, it’s your story. Forget the typical internet assholish responses. People will pick apart anything from behind their keyboard with no regard for the actual person they are slagging.

Full throttle #2 still going strong in its original location. Public loves playing it.

You guys realise this was a gag, right? A song pastiche with factual lyrics? Written that way because it was funny?

Oh well, it rolled them in the aisles on UK Pinball Info.

I had one brand new with the extra backbox monitor.
Sold it month later.
No sound effects when you hit a target.
Only event sounds/music.
Thats makes it dull to play.
Lot off clunky shots. Not bad and not great.

Definitely have to listen to the song, then it was pretty funny. I hope development actually wasn’t like that! Sounds like a bunch of wankers!

It's all true. And if you think I'm dining off the chain loop accelerator anecdote for years, I haven't got to Andrew's original 'chestburst' idea for Alien yet, it's even more hilariously unintentionally NOPE.

I still love my game after many years

Andrew's original 'chestburst

Not heard that one. So basically you have an in-bedded screen that could play a clip of the amazing blood soaked sequence

Or a 1 inch plastic cock that popped through the playfield. Love it

do we really need that? im betting what your imagining is better than the pic...

Very little humor going on across the pond, these days.....when there is, everyone looks around before laughing...Just an opinion of mine...

Funny Dave! The original song's lyrics pretty much sum up the company which was going nowhere. You should spill the beans and tell the whole story. Many would find it interesting.

#22 4 years ago

Full Throttle is a cracker of a game. Dave knows this.

Could be time to ditch the Redline the tunes on mine & chuck on some Right Said Fred, or those they've penned for Taylor Swift.

Nah, Motorhead & custom anims of Mel with no top.

Other side. Andrew wanted a flesh-coloured 'torso' mounted over the reverse ramp that would have let the ball through via a flap.

I DO NOT NEED TO TELL YOU WHAT THAT WOULD HAVE LOOKED LIKE.

Jesus. We are talking the playboy pin right

My immediate and vocal response to the idea was 'I AM NOT PUTTING A SHITTING ARSE ON THIS GAME'. And that was being *charitable*.
