A little disappointing, but better than having the cutouts there and Stern never releasing the expression lights for it, a la Rush pro.
Game looks good, LE looks sharp, but I can't be the only one thinking if they made 1k and are asking 13k, they are gonna be EASY to get for quite some time, and prolly at a not-insignificant discount.
Bought and LE and I had no intention of buying a game for a while. This just totally surprised me. The layout looks like a ton of fun, and they did a killer job not making the game just about the band. Kind of reminds me of my Alice Cooper in that way. Just a great sound track to back up a great theme.
Just noticed on the premium back glass, there is a bearded jack with a hot dog and burger tattoo. Jack posted the thank you to his family on FB and used a hamburger emoji and a hotdog emoji when mentioning his daughters. Damn man thats the best dad award, putting the family recognition front and center on the back glass.

They are coming - it's been confirmed multiple times. Just a long wait.
I'm surprised the FF pro doesn't have the cutout. Seems like a revenue stream Stern would want to have!

I don’t see it? It looks like a flat metal ball guide that could always (maybe) save the ball? Not a coded outlane ball mech.
If we’re just listing ways to save outlane drains, there are countless other idea to have physical means to save outlane drains.
Well darn, playfield looks awesome and game gameplay looks promising,
Initially waiting this one out............now---------------> Order placed on premium!
Quoted from Yoko2una:With the art on the Pro having a void at the Deadpost spot, I also wonder if there's a plan for that area. Stern can basically sell the plastic uppost part of that mech with a piece of tape and Pro owners stick it to the apron. In the code it could be when you qualify that save, the left flipper still works upon the left outlane drain. In all other single ball play scenarios, the left outlane disables the left flipper for a few seconds so the bangback isn't possible. Cheap and easy way to sell Pro owners half a post and a piece of tape for $99 + shipping.
or they could sell the entire mech and just keep that code in the Adjustments as something you can enable... Unless the production Pro Playfields are different.. But it certainly looks like there's a hole underneath that piece there. Fingers crossed.

I hate that they don't powder coat the coin doors on the LE.smh
Looks like Jack did a great job on his first cornerstone. Tons of shots and sounds like a good storyline to go with the band. Interested to see how the pro plays vs the premium. Looking forward to get a chance to play both

Who is doing the coding?

Quoted from bangerjay:I know I showed him this
Yeah! You get him! Next, why don't we start talking about how he stole the idea of flippers and ramps and that cool idea I had about a band fighting aliens while I was on the toilet that one time!
Quoted from manadams:Scooby buyers be like...
I got a free topper
I got a real backglass
I got a powdercoated door
I got a better sound system
I got free speaker lights/custom speaker grills
I got a free cup holder
Don't forget sales support.
Quoted from kciaccio:I hate that they don't powder coat the coin doors on the LE.smh
They are powder coated.....in black, like a modern coin door should be.

Tanio Klyce (of Deadpool fame) is the lead on code and Raymond Davidson is working on it with a focus on the rules and score balancing type stuff. That is according to the Stern Insider podcast.
It's an absolutely perfect combination in my opinion. Tanio for overall fun pinball stuff, Rayday to complicate things and make sure things are balanced and interesting for us rules nerds. I wish TMNT had a Rayday involved...
I really like the art on the one that looks like Scooby Doo, not so into the one that looks like Avengers Infinity Quest.
happy about the drop target bank placed in the middle of the playfield and not just tucked to the side.
I like that the upper playfield is streamlined so its not blocking much, but also has all the fun aspects I'd want. Pro looks great without it.
Love the kicking target. (I've been playing a lot of Genesis)
I like the captive ball turnaround.
the death-save post is interesting, but will it be reliable after 5000 games? I expect a number of people at A and B levels to tilt out because of that dang thing
It seems on par with an Elwin design, except without the need to stuff one-too-many shots in. What I mean is, nothing looks TOO TIGHT to hit. Look at the upper left ramp on the Pro model, it seems to be a really decent size opening.
I have no idea what a "Foo" is or what they're fighting about, but I assume it has something to do with that alien? Who knows, this game looks SUPER FUN
I want to see his next two pins, but ooooooo boy if we have Elwin & Meunier killing it in the pinball designs, and Danger it stepping up to that challenge? This golden age of pinball just got a bit extra gilded.
Quoted from cait001:I have no idea what a "Foo" is or what they're fighting about, but I assume it has something to do with that alien?
ugggh sorry, I just realized I posted about this game without saying what I DISLIKE about it.
I went back and rewatched the video.
There's nothing that stands out to me as bad. This game looks great, all models.
I can't find anything to nitpick.
For those of you on the market, I have no idea how you're supposed to pick between all of the gems out there now.
This is our golden age. For anyone who thought oh it must have been nice to grab an Addams Family or Twilight Zone or Cirqus Voltaire NIB back in the day, we are once again in a GOLDEN AGE OF PINBALL.
Quoted from cait001:the death-save post is interesting, but will it be reliable after 5000 games? I expect a number of people at A and B levels to tilt out because of that dang thing
I mean, is anything reliable on a pin after 5000 games?
I don't think that bang back post NEEDS to be perfectly reliable, plus an Adjustment in the settings to make it a virtual ball save would be a super easy way to "fix" it, if need be. With that being said, I really, really, really hope that they choose to incorporate the action button into making that thing come up, with an adjustment for how long it will stay up after hitting the button or game rules that make it stay up for longer. Hold the left flipper up and wait until the right time or you blow it? That would be fun pinball.
Hope not, way too easy. Plus it was active during the multiball.
Quoted from TheLaw:So the deathsave kicker wi be activated by the action button like magna save right?

This is great, love the depth Tanio and Raymond bring to the game!!!! Gotta go have a listen
I like the pro cabinet art & backglass the best. Like the old Metallica days when everybody wanted the pro cabinet with a premium playfield.
All I have to say is this looks a whole lot better than that Rolling Stones remake. Jack did an awesome job.

oh that's such a great idea!
I’d have to see how it plays.
There are some nice looking new games out there that don’t hold my interest, as they just don’t play as well as I would have expected. I had my mind made up to buy a few of the newer games, based only on theme alone…and then I played them and quickly changed my mind. The “video assets” that hold the ball while they play the same clip over and over don’t do anything to improve gameplay, and I have walked away from a few games because of it.
Hopefully this is one that will change my mind.

You mean the part Jack had on his homebrew, 3+ years ago, and posted about, a couple of years ago?
I mean...at some point, hasn't everything in pinball been tried? Only so much you can do, if it was even inspired by the metal bit in your post.

Would definitely check it out, I love hearing ZY talk about the games he works on. Though he usually shuts up eventually and says "I'm talking too much, I'll let someone else talk" right when I'm thinking I could listen to him talk for another hour.
Quoted from Capn12:You mean the part Jack had on his homebrew, 3+ years ago, and posted about, a couple of years ago?
The implication was that the idea he "stole" from pre-dates that implementation on even Jack's homebrew. But, I think most of us will agree that "no".

This is how I feel. I prefer the art on the Pro but want the toys and deadpost lol

I love the expression lighting too.
I'm thinking Pro on this one. Premium looks great as well but imo the upper playfield doesn't look fun enough for the extra $2500.

And this looks nothing like the other design. This is a standard outlane design with a mechanical post to sometimes give the chance at a save vs. a curved ball guide in the outlane always offering the chance at a save.
I had a feeling Jack would make a unique design and I was correct. This layout is genius. The ZY art is superb and LCD animations are gorgeous! Playfield design has some touches from his preliminary homebrew from a few years ago, with some original figure-8 action. No pops are seen...and that's fine by me. Maybe it'll prompt other mainstay designers to stray away from the pop bumper trio requirements in most games. Elwin blew all of us away with his out-of-the-box designs and it looks like Jack is following in his footsteps. Job well done!
Quoted from EaglePin:This is a standard outlane design with a mechanical post to sometimes give the chance at a save vs. a curved ball guide in the outlane always offering the chance at a save.
Not quite standard, it's curved to give it the extra speed to help pop back into play. Though, based on my previous comments, it's clear that I agree that this is "not stolen."

Yep, and the curve is only where the ball turns the corner. And the length of ball guide leading up to the post is a standard straight outlane setup vs the deeply curved design for the entire outlane guide in the other one.
Quoted from SLCpunk2113:No upper playfield. Plastics instead of models. No death post.
and no magnet in the spaceship lock area.
