Hello, does anyone of you know why the main power board below the blue relay in some models contains a fuse?

3 weeks later
#236 3 years ago
Quoted from Dayhuff:

Sorry for not writing everything in English, the translator then wrongly conjugates the words making it seem like he says something else that I don't want to say, I think it's better that he write it to you in Spanish, Clytor and ss-pinball Can help you Dayhuff Translating things, I think they could help you in this situations

Hello, does anyone of you know why some speakers come with this design without the W? Is it because they were bandalized the same as mine? that some evil child has ripped it off and someone restored it with a black grid?

maxresdefault (resized).jpgmaxresdefault (resized).jpgxd2 (resized).jpgxd2 (resized).jpg
#244 3 years ago
Quoted from ss-pinball:

Yes, it is supposed to come with the stylized Williams "W" on the speaker.

Are you machines because they won't come with the W? I have seen only one machine on Youtube that is a mixture of both, it only has the W in the center without the characteristic yellow and red lines, I could never see what mine looked like, but I knew that if I got the W even though as I said it was vandalized /:

#247 3 years ago
Quoted from snyper2099:

By the way, you know where I can get a grille material to restore mine, mine they ripped off part of the chrome and all the W because as I said before it was in the arcades, They know of any trustworthy page that sells the grid or someone who posted it here on Pinside

#249 3 years ago
Quoted from snyper2099:

Here’s a decent picture of one with the logo:
On the ones without it, that area is covered with black fabric. I thought someone was reproducing the entire plastic trim of the speaker panel but it does not have the logo. Maybe he could send you some of the black backing material and you could paint it?
[quoted image]

Yes, I have seen how they are originally, thanks to a very nice guy in this forum my panel will look very good, I have the scans but the problem is to find the grid, My panel machine went through several things, like: It had a 5 inch horn and it was screwed directly to the wood, the 4 screws were cut, as I said the W was ripped off, the chrome was destroyed in one part, The ground contact was also removed / stolen and the grill that originally came from the back (with the horn) is missing, Now I have two bolts restored to it, I have attached the 6 inch horn and I have placed its ground contact again, now I am waiting for the chrome thanks to the kind boy I mentioned before
I have a photo of how it was, they put a horn grill that drilled part of the chrome to be put, soon I send you a photo of how it is currently, here is an image that I take, Excuse the high quality jajq

speaking of grid I saw that mine lacks the one that the transformer had, any idea where do I get it? I have seen here that they mentioned the subject but not where to get it, right?

It is not a bad thing that happens when you put the driver card in the cpu badly stapled, mine I thought it was bad but it is not only that it is not well connected, Once my game made the sound of a roar I think it was from Gorgar or I don't know what machine it was.
You are in the right forum and place, we are a united community and you can ask about what you want and need (as long as it is within our reach)

#260 3 years ago

Hey, I know they don't want to produce hardtops for this machine, but thanks to a guy in another arcade forum I got a scan of the firepower II, with a more modern design, this design comes unedited but I'm currently editing it to be the closest thing to a hardtop, cutting the inserts in the image so that when they are pasted on the playfield they look like a hardtop does, look at me I pasted it somewhat crooked but since I am going to edit it again I will print it again.

I need to know if anyone of you has the font format that williams used for these machines, since with this I can finish editing the file.

This design is modern and beautiful, it does not look the same as the original but in my opinion I loved it, when I finish editing it I will print it on transparent paper to paste it back.

Quoted from nglayton:

I am working on adjusting the inserts to the original size, they passed me the scans of the original game, so with the originals I can rescale the modern design, it will have to be printed on a vinyl or transparent sticker, the inserts will be glued First, I am also designing them as they originally were, then the scan of the playfield is pasted and then the mica (I do not know how to do it) I think the mica is easy, you buy one meter and only stick on top of the scan.

#265 3 years ago
Quoted from ss-pinball:

Is there a way for you to share the original scan?

Of course there is a way, but I'm still adjusting the file so that when they want it they just print it, without cropping without adjusting it, all set

#266 3 years ago

these are photos of the playfield already armed

Quoted from nglayton:

Are you looking for a pop bumper cap, to replace that broken one?

Yes, I don't know whether to try to get the original or put some transparent ones on them

#270 3 years ago
Quoted from snyper2099:

I do not like the white ones. They don’t fit the theme at all. I put translucent blue on my game as a test and was shocked that they actually look great so I kept them on there. They match the blue planes on the backglass.

I would like a natural transparent one with the mod of chrome prints and a blue LED

#271 3 years ago
Quoted from snyper2099:

snyper2099 can i see yours?

#273 3 years ago
Quoted from ss-pinball:

which? the ones that originally said 10,000 and Mystery Lites? /:
I can put it again if you want, Obviously when I have the scan ready and adjusted, I do not want them to comment on the same mistake that I made

#275 3 years ago
Quoted from nglayton:

So if im going to put clear bumper caps with blue leds, what rubbers are better, white or black?
If you don´t like the modern playfield I will try to get the original scan.

#277 3 years ago
Quoted from ss-pinball:

Well, and what's wrong or good?

#279 3 years ago
Quoted from ss-pinball:

in my case they are worn by not putting a Mica / protector, someone here will want the scan?

#280 3 years ago

Well, following the theme of Firepower Jets, apart from the bumpers, is there anything else that is not with the style of the machine?

#282 3 years ago
Quoted from JethroP:

Per Waxon request to post pictures of how I protected the wire bundle from touching the transformers. My machine came with the cage missing. I made protection with PVC pipe.[quoted image]

Wow, it's a very good option to protect the cables, I'll see if I do something similar to my machine, thanks!

#283 3 years ago

guys I think today may be the day we have our hardtop for the firepower II, the playfield scan is ready, it will have to be printed on transparent sticker, here is the scan, A comparison of the old design to the new one, if someone wants it, send me a message

https://www.aussiearcade.com/forum/pinball/pinball-restoration-s/solid-state-ss-pinball-restorations/97496-firepower-2-here-s-to-you-dazza

Exactly, they come from there, the guy told me that I could pass the scan to you, nothing else that is not edited, or adjusted or anything like that, I gave myself the task of editing them to the correct size so that you can print it

#291 3 years ago
Quoted from ss-pinball:

It is not necessary to contact the guy in the forum, I have the scan as I originally handed it to me, but when I print it without editing note that the inserts come in the print drawn, so when they shine in the game the stamp gets to cover something, And well let's be honest, nobody likes their inserts to be opaque, that's why I tell them that now I edit the file and it is ready to be printed

#292 3 years ago

Besides, I edited it so that you did not suffer with the same problems that I had when I had not been so informed, as I said, it is ready to print, it must be on a transparent adhesive paper, IT IS NOT NECESSARY TO EDIT IT AGAIN SINCE IT IS TO YOUR CORRECT SIZE, yes, you will have to create your protective mica

#294 3 years ago
Quoted from stumptown:

This is complete

#296 3 years ago
Quoted from ss-pinball:

No quedan muchos.

I think that at least of the 3400 there are about 1000 alive

let's wait if It could be posible

#305 3 years ago

Does anyone here have scans of the firepower II cabinet?

#308 3 years ago
Quoted from ss-pinball:

I do not have my machine with me right now, but in case of not finding scans I will do mine, I will be updating what happens around here

#314 3 years ago

would it be possible for someone to create some graphics for the firepower II gabite?

#315 3 years ago

Well, I have seen that the design as you say ss-pinball is the same as the laser cue, and I saw that for the original firepower someone created an alternative design (more faithful to the F-14 jets AND space theme)

#317 3 years ago
Quoted from ss-pinball:

Fortunately, the size of the pop bumpers can be said to be universal, so it is only a question of recreating the design perfectly or scanning them.
The cabinet I am currently creating my own stencils, with the original design, I am not very expert in this so I can not create a new design for the cabinet, I contacted the created of the new design of the original firepower, to see if there is any chance i make one for the firepower 2

#318 3 years ago
Quoted from Waxon:

Personally, I would like that pieces more faithful to the art and theme of the game could be created, since Williams apparently put more his typical W logo on these machines than any drawing or design of the machine.
Many people here have made their modifications to give the theme more style, so the pop bumper or gabite could be a new design or the original, although as you say, with limited units, because not everyone will want or be able to access these, I think

#322 3 years ago
Quoted from greatwichjohn:

Like I said, the art is already set, can't wait for the test print to come out

#323 3 years ago

Could someone give me the exact measurements of the cabinet and the whole machine itself? cabinet, box, etc

Quoted from greatwichjohn:

Prints look good just needs a little more work.

Of course, as I said, the file will be further refined

#333 3 years ago
Quoted from ss-pinball:

¿Ambos se refieren al mismo archivo?

Of course!

#335 3 years ago

The file continues to be edited.
Looking at the advertisement flyers of the machine, I noticed two things:

1-This I do not know if it is due to the lighting but it seems that the bumpers lack the W, I could rule out that it was lighting because being normal bulbs these should not completely eliminate the mark, although it may only be the photo

2-I have seen that there are very few machines that lack the plastic 31-521-15, I do not think it is because the owners remove it, because in the official announcement it is shown without it, this leads me to think that the versions vary and that There are machines that come like this from the factory, is the same with the objective of Relase Locked Ball because it is round while some of us know that it is more square in some machines

What do you think?
Fire2annou (resized).pngFire2annou (resized).png

#338 3 years ago

I have scans of the cabinet, of the stencils, you paint it and paste the stencils and it would be the same or similar

#341 3 years ago
Quoted from nglayton:

Nunca redondee.

Yes, although as in the original it has always been circular, I thought that versions could vary the same, I have seen that there are some machines that have a chrome door while others are black, it is something about the Australian version, right?

Hello everyone, it's been a long time since my last connection, first of all, I want to apologize for my sudden disappearance.

After this time I have been able to resume my projects, I want to continue with the hardtop project, I have more preparation and I have much more time to continue, to continue with the project I have two options, if someone can scan their playfield in real size to base myself on it or if there is no possibility, I can take mine

I hope you can see this!

#528 8 months ago

Investigating a bit I discovered that the origins of the "modern" hardtop file come from a creation for a vpx virtual table, I would like to know if the creator of this playfield is here, I have seen FP2 pinball in videogames that have the original art, I wonder if anyone knows how to extract that file to allow us to produce hardtops with the original art or three of the following options:

1-Extracting the original art from a platform such as VPX pinball, it would only be necessary for someone with the knowledge to do it
2-Follow the project with the "modern" hardtop
3-Edit the modern hardtop to make it look more faithful to the original

I am trying to carry out the third option for the time being, it looks good but I want to know what opinions you give me
