I recently joined the club. My playfield is pretty beat as well. This one will need some help as it is hacked up a bit too. Someone actually put a gum wrapper on a fuse and scorched the board. MPU and Driver boards look really good though. Hoping to get it set up in the next couple days to see if it boots.

Any chance someone has a scan of the BG to print a translight from? My latest pickups both need BG's and I am looking for something to hold me over till I buy them. Thanks

Can someone post a pic of the trough switches, please? Mine is missing a switch and the wiring is wonky. Trying to put it back to normal and get it working. Thanks.

Is anyone still in this club?

I’m here, I’ll try to get a photo of my trough switches tomorrow, my backglass is pretty roasted too

Thanks!

Does anyone know if there is a repro backglass for FP2?

#83 4 years ago
Quoted from ss-pinball:

I thought there was one but I don't think there is. No repro playfields. Or hardtops. Or repro plastics.
I like my FP2 enough that I'd consider a new old stock playfield.
I have an extra severely crazed back glass. Have not attempted to preserve what is there yet. I just found a better one from a parted out machine that was an improvement but still not perfect.
I AM still working on trying to get an intact 31-521-13 plastic (just above the red bulb/tower and directly beneath the exit curve on the ramp). I've been sending messages to every FP2 seller, explaining the situation (that I am trying to amass an entire set so that it can be scanned and hopefully reproduced someday) and offering some cash AND my chipped at both ends plastic for an intact one.
You'd think that someone would actually do that deal as most FP2 machines are trashed anyway, a potential buyer wouldn't know the difference anyway (and if the other plastics are trashed AND the buyer was intent on fixing it, in a round about way the seller would be HELPING the buyer--if we can get the plastics made somewhere.
No luck so far.

Which plastic is that?

Quoted from JethroP:

Removed the playfield to install a missing guard over the transformers. Reinstalled and plugged everything back in (can't see how I could have plugged anything into the wrong connector). Now when I turn the game on, the right flipper immediately locks on. What's going on? The flipper switch (at the button) is open, but even if it was closed I wouldn't think the flipper would activate unless the game had booted and a game started. Any ideas what's going on?

Any chance you swapped the white and black playfield plugs around? I believe they were used in this system, but I could be wrong.

#134 3 years ago
Quoted from JethroP:

Well, as a matter of fact, that's exactly what I did. So I corrected that and now the game doesn't boot. What did I fry? All the fuses check good.

There was a thread a while back where someone did this. I will see if I can find it. I think he fried some ICs on his boards but not exactly sure which ones.

Actually this is the one I was looking for.

If you have a suggestion about who to approach to do these items, send me a PM.

Did CPR ever start their "one off" model of business for the plastics? I have a few broken plastics, plenty of wear on my pf and my backglass is missing completely.

Quoted from topkat:

If anyone has a photo of their power board connectors, specifically gi it would be helpful
My pcb, that was rebuilt, has two wires coming out but I think the pf has a connector with 4 or 6 yellow wires..?
(I am switching out populated pfs)
[quoted image]

Looks like someone added a connector there. Mine has a 2 wire connector that plugs directly into the pcb where your 2 wires are soldered in.

#206 3 years ago
Quoted from topkat:

The two wires that are soldered directly to the pbc.. do those go to the GI? Mine has a 4 wire connector..
ty

Some of my system 11's have 4 wires in that spot. One comes from that yellow jumper wire that connects those 2 plains. I can look at it better tomorrow.

I must have missed it but how do you go about adding speech to FP2?

#231 3 years ago

So does it just use the same speech as FP?

Just talked with Rick PPS & the title is available. See if we can move forward with new playfields this winter.

Well I finally brought my game in to get working. Got it playing w/ a few minor issues and now I am shopping it out. Does anyone know who carries these plastic lane guides? Didn't see them on Marco. When I measure for lenght, is it center to center from the screw holes?
Thanks for any advise!

Yeah, I know. But I got 2 more pins and a cocktail Galaga with the funds.

Gorgar and a Bobby Orr. I don't want the Gorgar, but I have someone who wants to buy it.
