Not every machine needs a club .. but Firepower is surely worthy.

We'll even share the love with Firepower2 ( face it - it needs all the help it can get in the shade of its big brother)

I am about to instal this lovely piece of CPRs finest work

Into this well worn veteran of the 80s

Its apparently a Silver grade PF. I guess it didnt get a perfect score because they forgot to add the registration errors the original one has where the inserts are only meant to be 'sort of close' to lining up.

Its currently got a mix of switches in it for the main standup targets .. i have some bullseyes but the original targets seem to be long gone? I'll probably use GTB 25460-6R unless someone has a better suggestion? http://nikolich.us/Maverick/catalog/index.php claims to have them but it seems to be a ghost town site that doesnt work any more.

It is decent just faded and a bit cracked up ( it had full mylar) .. sorry its not for sale as its going on the wall and anyway its in Australia - it would cost you $200ish to get it home.

I have a really good scan of the manual and schematics if anyone needs them too .. send PM

Do we really need a club for EVERY GAME?

The coil sleeves are in the 1980 williams parts manual jack

#102 6 years ago

Not off hand but the parts manual has either 1-1/2, 2 or 2-3/4.
Why not just measure the length of the old raised and cupped ones you have?

I fixed it by getting a better staple gun? the long nose air powered ones will go right in around pop bumpers.

Quoted from Jumping-Box:

Silly question. Placement of the three AA batteries... Should the positive side face down on all the batteries? I replaced the batteries and now I get a 1497 2 error code.

There is a + printed on the board .. its at the bottom .. all three the same.
Open the coin door and turn the power off then on ..If it continues booting in audit mode look at the 5110. maybe a re-seat or a new one.

Quoted from Arnoud:

I like to have a firepower, but they are not that available there down under :-<
So I going to make my own one. I know I am crazy… but I like a nice challenge and a good game.
I am looking for a high resolution scan of a undamaged firepower playfield (original or CPR) to print the decal.
Any suggestions where to find one?

I know of a couple of machines in Australia if you decide to ship one over

If GPE/Ed said the smaller one is the replacement that would be more than good enough for me to use it.

Which strength shooter spring do you guys prefer in your Firepower? I can't seem to find what the factory original one was.

from the parts manual it was 10-148-1

Wire Help please. The yellow wire shown with the cable tie from the other light sockets. I believe it goes to the socket lug with the yellow brown. Please check your game and confirm. Thanks

looks right to me as well.

Does anyone know if CPR have any plans to do another run of these playfields. I would be in for one, for sure.
Mine is ok , but would love a new one.

i have one for you

#707 4 years ago
Quoted from La_Porta:

Got more than one??

actually yes but they are in australiia so you will cry when you get the bill for the playfield plus freight to here plus freight back again, .. you best keep looking

Quoted from BriPin:

I can't get this shot regularly at all ... If anyone has any other ideas I'd appreciate it.

take the glass off, stand at the side and try it by hand.. sometimes its easier to see whats deviating the ball when you're up close

Quoted from scampcamp:

Did we ever figure out what the correct/original flipper rubber color was?

http://www.firepowerpinball.com/downloads/PlayfieldParts.pdf shows 23A-6519-4 which is red

page 11 of http://www.firepowerpinball.co.uk/2ya/downloads/FP-497-Parts.pdf also shows red

so .. red seems like the answer

#914 3 years ago
Quoted from mtmellum:

Ok, and thanks . where can we get red bats with the Williams w ?

please check the full quoted post..it is about the rubber color not the bats

#941 3 years ago
Quoted from Jumping-Box:

Because the batteries in my Firepower do not work, I need to do this for every power up.

you could always just fit the battery...
