Joined the club! I am an Aussie currently located in Canada for work. playfield is ok w the usual small wear patch on right lower bumper. Inserts need doing. Some planking. Plastics ok. Have upgraded power supply plus Trifurcon and headers as per clays/vids guides. Combo Rom cpu board mod also. Next is driver board and header/connectors to Trifurcon on cpu and driver boards.

Couple of interesting things I'd like to hear from people on.

No red/white grounding wire?

The backbox has a different serial number to the playfield and cabinet. one of a pair (or more) on a route and got mixed up when stored?

Special solenoid wire (purple) had an extra wire (black ground) for some reason. Yet to check coils, trying to get cpu/driver going. Any ideas why?

General illumination. Nothing there even though circuit has continuity right into playfield. Haven't tested the voltage but the PS board is ok. Any thoughts/tips?

I'd also like a CPR playfield. Any new leads would be great. Anybody w a good scan of that area?

Can't wait to play this, so much so that I've got a rottendog waiting if I get too impatient! Even if I install it, I've got to sort out the solenoids. One of them keeps blowing the fuse.

BTW, I did start a thread On my restore. Nothing outstanding, just a place to put a few pics, videos and stuff.

Hi all, a question on the left flipper ramp/lane. Anybody got any ideas as to the post part number at the top near the rear of the bumper? I am missing it and want to replace it?

Is it 02-3905, or something else? If somebody could post a close up of theirs, I'd be happy to track it from there.

Thanks!

SOLVED. It is a 02-4020 and not listed in the manual (that I could find). Bay Area amusements is out of stock, so it's find a suitable replacement or substitution.

Quoted from Schwaggs:

GI is really simple on this game. 6.3v winding from the transformer straight to the 20 amp fuse 6F1 (in the block of 3 fuses next to the rectifiers behind the transformer) then on to the rest of the game. Assuming the transformer winding is OK, should be pretty easy to test...

Thanks Schwaggs, sorted on the weekend. Voltage was good, Replaced the fuse and something much more simpler, which I couldn't believe was that, every (yes, every!) GI lamp was blown. In with a bunch of 44s!

Quoted from La_Porta:

So I've been having this "left flipper sticking for a second if I hold the button down" issue. I took to looking under the field and noticed that both flippers have different springs and other parts. Take a look:

I wonder: was the right one rebuilt? I don't know my a** from my elbow with flippers yet, so does anyone know what the difference between these are...and why I may be having my issue?

Before you buy, read this! Made all the difference to my flipper rebuilds and I brought the full kits too.

Quoted from aztarac:

How many could use a new set of plastics for their FP?

I'd be in for new plastics. I've got a CPR playfield and a Mayfair translite all in storage waiting for the restore. Just need to stop working overseas!
