Resistor can be any wattage 1/4 or higher.

#3452 3 years ago
Quoted from mrm_4:

I did a lot of reading on this thread and found mention of 22uf 50v so that’s what I was gong to order.
Also I’m assuming the resistor is 1/2 watt?
Thanks for clarifying

Perfect!

1/4 is all that is needed as the others have said.

Manual pg.25

I only have to page 12 and stops.

I've noticed on my playfield & others I've seen online have this spot on/near the yellow that has a straight almost triangle pattern.

Does anyone know what caused this?

I'm trying to clean it up with novus 2.

That is caused by the pinball its self.

Agree, caused by the pinball itself.

The dirt stops in a straight line across the bottom due to the ball hitting the metal return frame between the inlane and outlane. The upper boundary is as far up as the ball can go before hitting the star post on the corner of the sling. There is similar dirt in the white patterned part, it just not as obvious.

Novus 2 might not be strong enough to get it off. I've had good luck with Magic Eraser and isopropol alcohol. Just go slow as you can rub through the paint pretty easily.

Ok. Doing a pf swap right now and I want to double check the value of a resistor. It's on the undersode of the pf. It is not the bigger resistor (that resostor has been cut off to accomodate leds), but the smaller resistor which spans from position 2 to 3 on this terminal board. I THINK it is just 1 ohm... am I correct? It's a little hard to read.

Should there be a plastic post here?

And should there be a rubber ring added?

It's under a plastic so I don't know why its needed.

Assuming that is the terminal board connected to the flashers. 100 ohm 1/2 watt or larger

Anyone happen to know? Thanks.

If I look at the Firepower pinball flyer... would it show the accurate placement of what the targets should look like?

I've seen it in several ways. I'm guessing the 6 front targets are the flame design.. the 3 right are bullseys. And the straight back is a bullseye also?

Thank you

Here is how mine is now... you can see i need the 6 front targets decals replaced for sure.

That looks right to me. That is like 3 of the Firepowers I have had! Well, except for the one with a couple blue bullseye targets behind the arrows but I'm pretty sure thats not stock

#3471 3 years ago

Recently joined the club, and while removing the pop bumper assemblies I noticed that there is a yellow wire connected to the light socket of the 10,000 bonus insert (in the group of 10,000 / 30,000 / 50,000 bonus inserts between the pop bumpers), that came loose from somewhere. Could someone either post a pic of the wiring from their machine, or advise as to where this wire should be connected? Tried looking at the under playfield pic on ipdb, but couldn't tell from that. Thanks in advance!!

I emailed this link to a print shop that makes vinyl decals etc.

http://blackknightpinball.co.uk/wp/artwork-2/spinner-targets

He called back & said he would need a password to open the pdf. I have never heard that.

Do you know what he means?

When you PDF a document there’s a way to protect the file so it can’t be edited or accessed even as a PDF.
I’m not sure why he would need that. He should be able to print it as is just like everyone else.

10, 30, 50,000 insert lamps are all in column 6 yellow with blue wire. When inserts are close to each other that are in the same row or column, Williams used patch wire (often yellow) to connect them. You can see the yellow/blue wire on the 50,000 insert. A yellow wire from there to the 30,000 insert. The loose wire should be on the 30,000 insert to connect the 10,000 insert.

Interesting... the bottom right bullseye targets are red not blue.
The Firepower pinball I have played, have blue bullseye spot targets.

FWIW, all the FP's I've owned, seen, played...red bullseye targets for the right hand ("POWER") bank, and the top single target. Fire Power flame logo stickers on the middle banks, and IIRC those are applied to plain red targets but I'm not certain - can't recall if I ever peeled any to see if they were plain red or red bullseye.

One variation I have seen on several FP's would be the inserts for the POWER target bank - usually all three blue, but occasionally a sort of magenta-toned one mixed in. I've posted a pic in this thread of a playfield with one in the center of those three.

I am looking for print files or a purchasable version for my Firepower cabinet labels.

ie. The service button decal, fuses, install 3 balls, and the rest of the warning etc

I'd prefer printing, but I'd be okay buying something like what flashinstinct sells for wpc

Thanks!

Hi,

does anyone know the value/reference of the flipper capacitors on the firepower pinball?
My right flipper assembly filter capacitor has one of its leg that broke and I need to replace it but was not able to find the values or to find a clear reference to that flipper capacitor on the different websites I could use to replace it.

thanks in advance!

Did anyone pick up a spare Planetary Pinball backglass? I'd love to get one if someone has a spare they'd be willing to part with.

Looks really nice! I had similar wear plus a few other spots...I am not artistically inclined so I took long expensive approach of hardtop and almost complete rebuild. I should have it completed in a week or so.

Here is my FP restore I am finishing up. Pretty happy with the results even those numerous mistakes were made along the way.

You sure that wasn't one of the Alan Meyer repro's from that time period? (The fade at the top was more orange than red, and there wasn't as good as/any dithering in the color fade)
