Needing 1 phenolic ball 7/8 inch diameter for a 1964 Williams Zig Zag (or Wing Ding), used in the back glass animation. Anyone have a parts machine? Photo of ball and old parts list with part number shown. Thanks

Does this look like the part you need? I can take it apart and check the Williams part number if needed.

I’m in need of a coin relay coil for a 50’s vintage Bally shuffle bowler. Mine is open. Usual sources don’t have one. The wrapper says 2400 ohm, 2842 110. Thanks! Mike

Quoted from pinhead52:

can you find a substitute off of this chart?
https://www.pinballmedic.net/coilchart.html

I looked, but am unable to find one in the chart.

Quoted from gutz:

Can you peel the paper and see the break? Might be an easy repair.

Quoted from Mopar:

Yes, more than not the break is in the outer winding. If so, easy fix. If not, I'll take a look.
Note. As I'm sure you know, before re-soldering, the outside winding's coating has to be
scraped away..

I tried that, hoping to find the wire broken. No luck. It's broken now from me messing with it. But I can't get the continuity (and yes I scraped off the insulation to bare wire)

Quoted from PinballAir:

I have several that look like it but none are more than 100 ohms.
[quoted image]

Thank you for checking, that one does look close!

Thanks for looking, maybe one will turn up!

Thanks everyone for the suggestions!

Mike

Quoted from Mopar:

a relay coil from the Relay Bank would work. They should physically be the same

Good idea, thanks! I have some various coils, and some bank relays from Williams units. I’ll check to see if one will fit. My first thought is the mounting screw hole and solder lugs are on opposite ends, and others brands may not be the same orientation.
What’s the purpose of the capacitor across the coil? I assume it’s to prevent the coil from chattering when the coin switch closes. Chattering could falsely adding more credits.

Quoted from Mopar:

That's the Coin Relay coil? I don't remember seeing a capacitor on any Bally Bowler coils

Yes that’s the coin relay. Last year I worked on a Bally Magic Bowler, this is the sister unit Mystic Bowler. Other than name, it’s identical. Both units have this capacitor across the coil. Although not shown on the schematic (pic).
Unfortunately, I don’t have any Bally bank relay coils. It might be simpler for me to just use another relay all together. It only has one set of normally open contacts.

Quoted from Mopar:

Yes, United/Williams bowlers are 50V. Another relay all together would surely work okay..

It might be blasphemy to use another brand coil, but I found a Williams coil that was very close in size to the Bally. With a little modification to the mounting hole, it works just fine. Thanks

Looking for a 50’s Bally 10 cent coin mech, for a shuffle bowler. I have a few of the parts in the first photo. It also says United on it. Second photo is what it should look like. I also am looking for the foul line metal bar as shown in last photo. Bally Mystic or Magic Shuffle Bowlers. PM me if you can help. Thanks!

Operating instructions say the relay is E-146-362. The coil is C-2794-5.

Update on this relay. The original (open coil) says 5000 ohms. I checked a friend’s machine and his measured 4950. The DC circuit runs about 90 volts. So knowing the resistance and the voltage, I started searching for suitable relays. I found a good one on Surplus Sales of Nebraska. Actually I purchased 2. It’s now working perfectly!

Thanks for the link. Quite impressive! I didn’t take mine that far apart, but have cleaned and cleaned for days now. I’ve found very similar issues with mine as you have shown. Especially the flipper area. Mine had a fire in that area! I’ve upgraded the coils and switches from a slightly newer donor. Many coils were in need of replacing throughout. When some more parts arrive, I’ll finally get to play a game in a few weeks. Still needing the plastic cover for the card wheels. This one might be my first to consider repainting the cabinet. Time will tell. More issues to address first. Thanks. Mike

#masquerade Looking for a back glass for 1966 Gottlieb Masquerade. Good condition would be great. But as long as the condition is such that BG Resto could copy it, would be fine too. PM if you have ideas thanks! Mike

I hope to acquire some project EMs in a few days. I know I’ll soon be needing two black glasses right away. Before going to BG Resto I’ll ask here first. Does anyone have a used Gottlieb Road Race or Aquarius back glass willing to sell? PM if interested. Thanks for reading. Mike

Quoted from vec-tor:

What's the KIKER?

I knew I’d get a hard time. The plastic to the right and left of the flippers. Sometimes I hear it call the kicker, sometimes I hear it called, a slingshot.
