Quoted from Sea_Wolf:

Looking for a pawl that drives the Match Unit ratchet wheel for 1976 Sonic ‘Faces’. Looks like the original one broke off. Not sure if a 1976 Williams would be compatible like from my Space Mission but I can check if I need to.
Thanks.[quoted image]

Identical to a Williams unit.

#9502 1 year ago
Quoted from vec-tor:

OUCH!
Maybe someday someone will have the means to reproduce the 1976 era
Williams style 00 to 90 unit stepper unit.

Tomorrow I’m going to pull up the bottom board and see if maybe the thin wires broke off of the pawl and it’s down there.

Quoted from John_In_WI:

Thanks. Now I’m wondering if someone swapped it out.

#9504 1 year ago

Sometimes you get lucky. Sure enough it came off and had rolled under the bottom board. I’m assuming that’s the entire pawl piece minus a little wire.

The spring is the tension/torsion spring for that unit piece.
It looks like a part of it has broken.

I need to rebuild pop bumpers on a Surf Champ. Can anyone suggest which parts I should order to make them snappy again?

Pinball Resource sells pop bumper rebuild kits. Not sure if your pin is ac of dc power. http://www.pbresource.com/pfbumpb.htm#rebuild

Thanks, I'm ordering flipper kits and stuff from them anyways, didn't know about the pop kits.

I THINK this one is 25VAC coils but I'm not sure. I can't tell from the schematic... maybe someone else can chime in.

The pop bumper switch stack has two contact points. The relay holding contacts
usually break or points drop off the switch blade. I would get the new contact lube.
The cup contact, part of the switch stack, uses a small amount...

Thanks, that makes sense. It fits perfect and drives the nylon gear by hand but I’ll have to figure something out. I’ll look at my Space Mission tomorrow.

So I’m guessing there’s no E-clip on this to keep it in place.

There's got to be something. I have seen two styles of clips for the assembly.
One is a regular E-clip the other is a ring-clip.

If you really want them snappy, convert them to DC.

Anyone have an extra Williams top Left rebound gate that is part #A-4817-L?

It’s the same one that is on my Space Mission but I need it for a 76’ Sonic ‘Faces’.

Steve Young said they didn’t have any.

Thanks.

OUCH! I hate when plastic parts become brittle...
It's like the manufactures wanted these parts to fail and the games to
be discarded.

Might anyone have or know where to get a Gottlieb A-15910 spring washer that secures the 10k score unit shaft to the disc along with the #5133-25 E clip (1978 Parts Catalog Vol P page 49) for a 1977 Lucky Hand? PBR has the E clip, but not the spring washer. Thanks, Jeff.

Looking for a ball lifter rod and bushing as shown here. For a Genco Hit and Run, but perhaps I can use something similar?

Looking for a plastic (lower left @ flipper) for Doozie or Daffie.

Would also be interested in any "closing flipper action" mech's for safe keeping.

Did you try Pinball Resource?

I haven't checked about plastic and they do not have anything related to the closing flipper assembly. I believe the reply was "ha-ha Good Luck!", I enjoyed my conversation with Steve. Ill have to ask more when I place my next order.

Most of the parts/mech can be fabricated but I figured I would put that out there.

Quoted from MrVern:

This is the part where you just can’t wait any longer for one to fall off a truck somewhere and then the unobtainium part to magically survive the fall, and then be recognized as the rare earth element it is, and then finally it makes it’s way to Craigslist to be purchased by a parts hoarder who then posts it to eBay where the final bid ends up somewhere between financing a kid through college and the cost of a reasonably priced used car. Cut your losses now and ask your uncle Bob if he can knock one up out of plywood for you.

Even dumber question - what is the purpose of those steel pins? I just can't figure out the reasoning, other than protecting the paint from a ball hit on the apron?

Also acts as a ball guide, they're not only at the aprons.

Yeah, I noticed that. My two EMs are missing random ones, and I never saw the point of replacing them. (Also never knew they were available.) I'll get a few once my games are unpacked, and put them back in.

I believe it's just music wire.
