Just got a Fast Draw in from a customer with several cracked-down-the-middle inserts, so looking for a few (or more) lettered inserts also used on Quick Draw/Pioneer/SO76). So if you've got a trashed one of these playfields hanging around I'm all ears... definitely need at least one 'B' and one 'C' insert. Would gladly accept more, as well as one 'A' insert, or the whole FD/QD set or Pioneer/SO76 A,B,C inserts)

I'm aware of creating a decal and so on, but I'm really looking for something as close to original as possible since it's a client's game.

Thanks

Don

Looks like I will be needing a score reel unit for a 63 Gottlieb. Do any of you gentlemen happen to have one? I have sent a few machines to a local game museum and got a message today that it's burnt I am hoping it's just the coil and metal score reel but I think it would be good just to have the whole unit......

Thanks!

I have a switch for a quarter mech from a late 50s Gottlieb (photo below—the wire on this one was mangled, but I think I got it back to reasonable shape), but the one I have for a nickel mech has a broken wire. Does someone have a spare nickel mech switch or at least the measurement of the wire on a nickel mech switch so that I could bend a new one. I assume that the wire on the nickel mech switch is just a bit longer than the quarter one given the smaller diameter of the nickel, but otherwise haven’t seen any photos of comparison. Thanks for any help!

Which game?/year?

#7567 3 years ago

Oldest GTB parts catalog I have is from 1962. Unfortunately it only depicts one of the wires, and not too well. The 5 and 10 cent wire part (A-4400) does have a different part number from the 25 wire part (A-4401).

Any chance the broken wire piece is still in the bottom of the cabinet somewhere?

Quoted from jeffc:

Lots of other pieces were present in the cabinet and so I was hoping to find the broken wire, but no luck. The wire from the quarter mech switch was dangling and so was getting mangled whenever the coin door was opened and closed. I suspect that the wire from the nickel mech switch was also dangling and got mangled so much that it broke and likely fell off outside the cabinet.

Thanks too for the image of the catalog! More bad luck for me in that the three switches aren't shown!

I am guessing that the wire just needs to be a tad bit longer to work with a nickel. I tried the quarter mech switch with a nickel mech and the wire doesn't extend far enough for the nickel to move the wire far enough so that the contacts on the blades of the nickel coin switch touch (but the quarter mech switch does work well with a quarter mech). I suspect that the wire of the nickel mech switch is a tad bit longer than the quarter one and have enough wire to bend so that I can try a few different sizes if I can't get a measurement.

Quoted from vec-tor:

Which game?/year?

This is for a 1958 Contest. It has a quarter slot and switch that can give 3-5 credits (adjustable option) and this works fine, but the nickel switch doesn't work obviously due to the broken wire on the mech switch (and yes, I want to get the damn nickel slot operational again even though I can put it on free play or just use quarters). A previous owner soldered the wires from the nickel switch directly to the replay button (and tied off the replay reel with a piece of string so that it never goes to zero--never saw that before!) to set the machine on free play. The coin mechs were also removed and so I was surprised to learn that "modern" coin mechs work in a 1958 machine (all my previous experience is with earlier Gottliebs that don't use mechs like these or later model machines).

Does anyone have an original set of drop targets in good condition for Gottlieb Big Hit? I know I can get repro from PBR, but then I should replace all the white plastic-not sure if I want to go that route yet.

Here’s pics of the ones I have, looking for a step up.

Thanks.

Wade has this on his reproduction list. If you can wait 4-5 years you may have an option. I have put mine at the back of the line to restore.

Wade once told me that if you merge “Crosstown” with “Kings and Queens” you get “Sing Along”. Pretty certain he’ll do Crosstown one day.

Thanks for the heads up. Wish I would have thought of that when I got the Big Hit plastics made through them. The site says they are printed on a white background. I wonder how they would look on my old discolored targets.

Pinball Rescue orders are sitting in the DHL Cincinnati Hub facility on hold due to an overload. It may be a two week delay in shipping from there. (Just spoke to DHL)

Hello, looking for any machine specific parts to a Gottlieb Subway or Central Park. PM me. If you have been sitting on anything like a backglass, used playfield, or cabinet, now is the time to squeeze my nuts for them. Motivated buyer here... will pay premium prices for good usable parts. Need more Subway parts than Central Park, but I thought I would look for them too while I am at it. Or if anyone can point me to a supplier of recreation Gottlieb BG's or playfields. Seems weird I can buy an art print of these, but an actual usable BG or playfield is hard to find...

LOL - makes me feel a whole lot better about the few worn spots on my Centaur!

On topic: If anyone has a Gottlieb AS relay (as used for spinner/bonus scoring), I might be interested... Mine is operable, but really finicky and I think a few prior folks have tried to "persuade" the switch and latch leaves into position - it often misses a few cycles when the spinner is hit hard.

Thanks!

I’m looking for a pair of pop bumper ring and shafts for a 1977 Gottlieb. Part A-16634, which is apparently longer than its predecessor A-1316?? Looks like PBR and Marco are out of stock, but A4754 is the replacement. Does anyone know if the A4754 is the same length?

If you have a pair of A-16634 in good shape, I’d be interested. Thanks.

Here is a pic. Left is for "BEFORE Surf Champ" and Right is for "AFTER Surf Champ". Dimensions in millimeters.

A4754 is a substitute for A1316.

The solution : Buy a A4754 and put some washers.

Washers are the solution. Without them the stroke will be too short and the pop bumper action will be weak.

Your other choice is to remove the mounting plate on the bottom side of the playfield and mount the bracket right to the playfield. I have never done this myself and don’t know if the DC power will pull the screws out.

I used #6 washers to shim the R&R to the longer A-16634.
Maybe someone can make a thick washer that is the thickness of the metal base
as a shim. Better still, is to get the OEM part refabricated.
