Quoted from Raff:

I am looking for a spring on a player unit it's a Chicago coin machine.[quoted image][quoted image] and after 2 coils for the pop bumpers 22-550 thanks.
Raff

If you know what game it is, and you have the part number to the spring,
you can try flippers.com in Canada.
They helped me get a spring that did the same thing that you have;
for a Chicago Coin Hi-Flyer.

Good to see you still around Raff. I'd been wondering what you were up to as you've been quiet for a while. Have you finished painting all those pins? lol

Pulled out some stepper units that can be sold off. Does anyone need any of these? No idea what game they are from but they may have other usable parts for your projects on them. I believe they are all from shuffle/bowler games, but I'm sure coils/stops ect. could be used in any other games as well. PM me if you see something you need. The only units I have available are in the photo.

Thanks!

Bally stepper units! Bowling trip units, and maybe a Bingo unit or two.

I'm hoping someone on here can help me out. I'm in the process of bringing a bally all-star deluxe bowler back to life. I have most of the parts but am missing one critical piece. I do not have the cam that stages the balls to load them into the turret. The coil is there and I have the plunger and link but the metal cam itself is just missing. If anyone has one or knows where I could get one would be a huge help.

I also am missing the turret cover but have a mold I bought a few years back to have some vacuum formed. I was going to try and get a price and might make a few if there is interest. I'm also in the market for a used one if anyone has one laying around.

You can see the black cam I'm talking about in this video. It's the mechanism that stages the ball into the turret.

May be a long shot but I need a swinging target with a musical instrument on it for a GTB Swing Along I'm working on (for someone else). I do have a blank target to paint as a last resort but thought I'd try for an original first.

Another option is to buy a spinner decal set from Pinball Rescue in Australia. Yesterday they announced that they are reopening international shipments using flat rate DHL for $34, total package weight up to 1.1 lbs. It may be time to combine some orders to ship to one address like Ken did for us recently.

I’m in need of a coin relay coil for a 50’s vintage Bally shuffle bowler. Mine is open. Usual sources don’t have one. The wrapper says 2400 ohm, 2842 110. Thanks! Mike

Can you peel the paper and see the break? Might be an easy repair.

Yes, more than not the break is in the outer winding. If so, easy fix. If not, I'll take a look.
Note. As I'm sure you know, before re-soldering, the outside winding's coating has to be
scraped away..

I tried that, hoping to find the wire broken. No luck. It's broken now from me messing with it. But I can't get the continuity (and yes I scraped off the insulation to bare wire)

Thank you for checking, that one does look close!

Thanks for looking, maybe one will turn up!

Thanks everyone for the suggestions!

Quoted from nomo:

Mike, to be truthful, because it's not a holding relay like the Anti Cheat Relay is,
a relay coil from the Relay Bank would work. They should physically be the same.
If you don't have any extra relay coils at all, I have plenty and I'll send a couple
including one directly from a Coin Relay. Let me know. (T)

#6822 3 years ago
Quoted from Mopar:

Good idea, thanks! I have some various coils, and some bank relays from Williams units. I’ll check to see if one will fit. My first thought is the mounting screw hole and solder lugs are on opposite ends, and others brands may not be the same orientation.
What’s the purpose of the capacitor across the coil? I assume it’s to prevent the coil from chattering when the coin switch closes. Chattering could falsely adding more credits.

Quoted from nomo:

That's the Coin Relay coil? I don't remember seeing a capacitor on any Bally Bowler coils from
the 50s. I'd say it was added. The Coin Relay is a quick pulse, so it wouldn't really chatter..
Although Williams Bowlers are also 50V, I'm not sure a relay coil would physically fit.
Using a Williams Coil (like for a Step-Up-Unit) for a Bally you may get to work, but very
tight. What I meant was a relay coil from a Bally Bank Relay. That would surely physically fit
and work fine. I believe the only difference is that the Bally Bank relay coils have a little
more pull.
If you have extra Bally Bank Relay Coils, you're all set. But if not, let me know..

#6824 3 years ago
Quoted from Mopar:

Yes that’s the coin relay. Last year I worked on a Bally Magic Bowler, this is the sister unit Mystic Bowler. Other than name, it’s identical. Both units have this capacitor across the coil. Although not shown on the schematic (pic).
Unfortunately, I don’t have any Bally bank relay coils. It might be simpler for me to just use another relay all together. It only has one set of normally open contacts.

Yes, United/Williams bowlers are 50V. Another relay all together would surely work okay..

It might be blasphemy to use another brand coil, but I found a Williams coil that was very close in size to the Bally. With a little modification to the mounting hole, it works just fine. Thanks

Anyone in here happen to have an extra 6ft section of wire harness for a united ball bowler? I'm in the process of finishing up my conversion of an end piece of lane section into a center lane addition to extend my bowler and need the wiring harness to connect the pieces. I will just build the harness if I have to just would rather have an original if possible. Current one has 10 wires but the number of wires isn't really important as long as there are at least 10 plug holes in the connector. Forgot to take pics of it but if you've got anything that you think may work please pm me. Thanks

look for foosball table balls. Those should work if they are the same diameter. Foosball balls are between 32mm and 35mm in diameter.
