You have a Bally Captain Fantastic E.M. 1976 correct ?
If your game is a solid state Home version then the part above would be correct...
But, this is for Electro Mechanical pinballs, not solid state...

Yes I have an EM. I only randomly grabbed the picture I included, because is illustrates the piece I need, though it's not the exact part I need. It does look very similar and I have taken mine apart and even epoxied it back together, so I know that it looks very similar to the posted pix. The epoxy gave up after 2 or 3 weeks. Placed my order with Steve Young today and brought this part up again. Again he said he, nor any other distributor has them anymore. I asked if there was anything close I could try to shave to fit. No. Anything he could think of to "rig" it to work? Epoxy.

I need Melody. I assumed they were the same. The project that I'm looking at has a lot of playfield wear and not a lot of ink coverage. It looks like a lot of the ink that remains was flaking off.

The playfields are extremely similar, with only the top center stand up target and rollunder having different scoring language. The rest looks close enough to use if you can find a nice Sing Along playfield and just have to change that scoring art.
They made more Sing Alongs. Maybe you can use a Sing Along pf.

Slickfam99 Ok I dug through my parts bin and found a kicker stand, added a U mount and plunger/spring yoke and fiber yoke. seems to be the right height comparing to a newer pop bracket. You'll need a coild from PBR etc. Let me know if you want.

I don’t think so. That is a Bally shooter and he needs the Bally liner.
Unless you can shave the Gottlieb part down to work.

"Sing Along", being a replay machine, awards "specials", and it uses the word "special" on the playfield. While physically identical to "Melody", the lettering is different.
"Sing Along" has bright coloring, and "Melody" has more muted pastel shades.
The best of both worlds would be the NOS "Harmony" playfield which is listed on eBay (in Italy). It would work in "Melody", but has the bright colors of "Sing Along".

Somebody replaced the OEM ball shooter assembly with a Solid State shooter assembly that came a few years later after Captain Fantastic was in production.

I did get one of his Diamond Jack playfields, it is very nice but one thing to keep in mind, the playfields are NOS meaning they're old so the inserts do have a little dishing to them and not perfectly flat like one of Wades would be. Now I need to figure out what to fill them with to level them. I really didn't want to clear the entire playfield.

Walt - Have the entire playfield clearcoated by someone that does it regularly. They should be able to fill/level the inserts in the process.
Being there would be no restoration the expense should be minimal - less than about $200 by someone with experience.
I had a friend talk me into clearcoating my Wade Quick Draw repro playfield. I am so glad I did it. The game plays fast at first but after 40-50 plays the speed settles down and it is perfect in appearance, durability, and play characteristics.
I'm getting ready to have a 4 Square playfield restored and clearcoated. I also have Wade 2001 and ACD and CPR Firepower playfields that will get clearcoated in the near future.
Clearcoat is not just for the high dollar late model games. Mike

It's looking like I'll have to have it done. I'll see if Kruzman wants to do it, he's fairly close.
I just finished installing a new Wade playfield in my Kings and Queens, very nice and plays great but I didn't clear it. The Wade Knock Out is in line after I finish the Flipper Parade with your backglass, finally! but I wasn't planning on clearing the Knock Out either. Actually I got that one from Kruzman. I'll have to see how the Diamond Jack plays after it's done.

It’s easiest to clear it before you install it. I highly recommend it if Kruzman can fix the cupping easily enough.

Hello everyone!
Looking for a Bally Nip-It grabber mech, (Ballygator). Mine is 90% complete but missing connecting parts and bushings for where the wire hoop attaches to the driving mechanism. The parts book is very vague and doesn't give me enough info to fab whatever is missing. Detailed pics of both sides of the slider would really help. Thanks so much!

Heat Wave (1964) came to me with small hard plastic clear cylinders protecting some of the GI. Some of the cylinders encase lamps that would never possibly be touched by the ball-- they are inside the apron at the top of the playfield surrounded by metal. Others are inside small bumpers that a ball might bounce into.
They are clear, hard plastic, 1" tall, 1/2" outer diameter, with thin walls. Of course, the ones I have are very brittle and yellow and ought to be replaced, if the machine really needs them.
Do I need them? Where can I get them? Don't see anything like it at Ace, Michaels, Hobby Town, Home Depot or Lowes.
Any ideas ?

Yes, the one on the right(yellow presumably) is closest to clear that I have ever seen in Gottlieb games.

This is for Williams EM Heat Wave. Guess they used yellow to make the playfield look hot. I might as well use the ones I have. Or maybe go to yellow LEDs for the ones that have the sleeves.

Correct, I seem to recall my Heat Wave had both yellow and red sleeves.

The gottlieb ones work for williams just the same. You may have to cut them down a bit.
