I'd name it "I Don't Care." That way, any time the wife/husband/boyfriend/girlfriend and you inevitably say they don't care where to eat, they'll know exactly where to eat.

I've wanted to do something like this, if only I had more $$$ and this town could support it. I want a small southern bbq restaurant / music venue with 6-8 pinball machines. I'd call it something like Billy's Bar-b-cade. A person name / illiteration is optional, as long as the Bar-b-cade is in there.

Is there a trademark on that one for a barcade?

    Bar and Grillcade.

    #112 3 years ago

No trademark? Good luck - it's a common phrase.

Yup, a few places ran into trouble because they used the name "barcade", which is trademarked.

Do you own the name “Barcade”?
Yes, Barcade is a registered federal and international trademark.

Why do you call yourselves “The Original Arcade Bar”?
We are certainly not the first bar in history to have arcade games in it. However, we opened in October 2004 with a business model specifically aimed at combining a craft beer bar and a classic arcade. Our original location is widely credited as the inspiration behind the current arcade bar trend and for popularizing the concept.

Who cares what the name is, just bring one to Houston.

    #118 3 years ago

I thought every city in America already had 4-5?

Yes, but that's not a proper English word, it's a portmanteau. So, it's a defensible trademark phase.

Recent reviews of the Poison Girl have been...unkind.

Microsoft Windows is trademarked--whether or not something is a real word doesn't really seem to have an impact on filing a trademark for it.

    Microsoft Windows is trademarked

But not "Windows". Plus, we're talking MS here, they have the money to really aggressively pursue trademarks.

I've got a "Beercade" in Omaha. Pretty neat place, though not top of my list

I've always thought if I opened a bar it would be called BJ's. T-shirts would read "Everyone Loves BJ's".

Poison Girl is the absolute worst. 7 of the darkest, dirtiest, non functional p.o.s. ever in the wild

There was a gyro place just off-campus at NIU. Tom and Jerry's. With a poorly drawn cartoon cat and mouse that resembled the notable pair. Urban legend (between "informed" college students).. lawyers approached them about the name.... but I still see them around and the cat and mouse is still there.

But then there's never been a problem with stealing IP in pinball.....
