Make sure the optos are clean. I was having the same issues. Put in new balls, still the same. To really clean the optos, the trough needs tobe removed. Mine were really dirty. After cleaning, works great! With opto boards off, you could also reflow solder as well.

Kensurfs looks great! I have to get one. Question, is that an LED DMD or LCD one? I'm planning on getting one and can't decide between LCD and LED.

How many plays, or how long, before the new ball(s) become magnetized? What are others experiencing?

Nice! Owner put the blades and back sticker on? I don’t think those were original.

#1040 5 years ago

kidchrisso those results are just elbow grease and novus?

#1043 5 years ago

When you say bleach white do you mean this product?

PAR fuse on the 12v? Loose wire on plug to trough opto?

jhanley somewhere in this thread this is mentioned. I believe you need to move the habit trail slightly back (or something like that).

Yeah, I seemed to lose the punch out sounds in bar room brawl with A2.25 On.

Cliffy has not done Dirty Harry protectors

#1387 3 years ago

I installed the blades and the sticker on the back. I did use the blade protectors from pinball lift, however, I don't really need them because nothing rubs. Just make sure ramps aren't making contact. When did cliffy add a protector for the magnet? I bought the set and did not get that. I just put new mylar around my magnet.

Quoted from seah2os:

Is this bulb a 12v, a flasher, or both? It says 89 on it. Want to order a Comet LED, not sure what to get. Thanks
[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]

Comet will have 12 v led flashers labeled #89.

How do i get to the right ramp opto sensor? Do you need to take a bunch of ramps, maybe the warehouse etc off the playfield to get to it?
Is there a backdoor method??
Any thoughts appreciated.

Slide playfield out as far as possible to see if you can get to screws on the back board. Take them out and after you take the board off should be able to get to it.

Does anyone have a pic on how the band needs to be this doesn’t look correct.

Quoted from TateCenter:

Hello.
I just joined the club a few weeks ago and love the game. I have run into my first issue with the game. Anytime I press the left flipper button it scores 2 million points automatically. After 5 presses it gives 10 million magna force award. Also at the start of the ball the three options flash up and then disappear before a choice can be made. I have checked all the wires to flipper coil and everything looks clean. There are no errors. Having the game for only a few weeks I am not familiar with the scoring. Anyone have any idea of what shot is worth 2 million? Could it be magna force? The gun does launch the ball normally. Unfortunately I do not have the schematics yet. Still trying to find those. Thanks!

I'm better with system 11's, but kind of sounds like a bad diode on a switch. But I know these era's don't have as many diodes as earlier games. I think you can get the manual online.

Quoted from LoPan:

Has one one done this alteration? I’m thinking of adding a deflector like this or cutting back the opto bracket to clear the ball path.

Wasn’t this standard? I have this on mine.

Quoted from WMSpin:

I've got an odd switch issue going on with my DH. When you trigger the right ramp enter (switch #51), switch 31 (left ramp enter) and switch 41 (Trough opto) are registering with it. 31 and 41 are both optos and test independently. Switch 51 is a micro switch, is wired correctly and has a good diode attached to it. I took the CPU out and tested it in Flintstones and switch 31, 41, and 51 tested as they should. I took the 16 opto PCB under the playfield and tested it in Scared Stiff - Again no switch issues found. Not sure where to go from here. I didn't test the cpu from flintstones or the opto PCB from scared stiff in DH because they are not in the same location. Any thoughts??
Mike V.

Are they all on a common row or column? Sounds like your issue is under the playfield

Quoted from SDM0:

I am trying to shop DH and I am not sure how to remove the warehouse (specifically the left side as you face it). Also, this post is being super annoying because it has come out of the playfield and I tried holding one end with a wrench and the other with pliers. It is on super tight. But that post is critical because it has ramp and plastic on it.

Sucks! Pliers on the bottom while wrenching the top. It’s never easy

Quoted from Biju:

Hey everyone! I was playing this game yesterday (I don't own it otherwise I'd test this out a little) and noticed something I had never noticed before: I had an extra ball and fired before you get to the choices (Load Gun, Ramp Shot, blah) but definitely after the animated dog drops to ball and got a "Secret Skill Shot" message and awarded a +1x bonus. I may have double pressed the flippers a couple times trying to get out of the animation. Curious, I tried it again but this time right away and nothing happened. Even more curious now I definitely did it after the "extra ball" words were displayed but received something else (can't remember).
So my question to the community: does anyone know the rules around this and whether there are more of these? Are they random or is there something specific you can do to get "the right one"? I checked the pinball.org rule sheet but didn't find anything about this. Maybe I was on some sort of custom ROM?

Launch with flipper button enabled?

Quoted from Junkhauler:

My gun has started moving very slow. It acts like the motor is to weak to move it.... I pulled off the white arm from the motor and the gun moves freely but seems kinda hard to rotate back and forth...
Any ideas??

Gummed up gears. Time for a tear down, clean and re-lube.

Quoted from Junkhauler:

Ok.... so your talking about the Gun Shaft Assembly?

Take the entire motor assembly off the bottom, disassemble, lube and reassemble. You can use a 9 volt to see if the motor works.

Quoted from Bam_Man:

Hello all, so I have a Dirty Harry I was in the middle of tearing down and then military life happened. I've been away from it for a bit over 6 months and didn't take very good notes or pictures, does anyone have any tear down files or notes, anything I can use to start putting this back together? Only thing I messed with on the underside of the playfield was that back magnet. It was mushroomed to all hell and did some damage to the playfield.

PM me. I have a lot of photos, just have to figure out the best way to get them to you.
