Wow that's beautiful . Really well done! I need a color dmd on mine. Have one but my other 3 BW titles are jealous.
So seems the initial choice for gun, ramp shot, etc. I assume the selection should move when you press the left flipper or right no? Also on the option to pick ransom or gun shot...I didn't look into this yet but mine seems to occasionally let me select but often doesn't? Strange as Flippers work fine otherwise. Any idea?

Just to clarify, the game doesn't show the choices, or the flipper won't change which option you are selecting?

It shows it just doesn't always let me pick. Hit flipper and selection isn't moving. I doubt that's a setting but I can look didn't think of that. Of course it appears to work sometimes.

Try cleaning your flipper opto switches.

Not a bad idea I'll give that a whirl. Thanks!
Just finished up my own Harry tear-down/shop-job. In this episode;
-Magnet replacement
-Cliffys installed
-New Leds
-New rubbers (clear)
-Playfield Protector installed
-new Spotlight behind gun
-new flipper colours
-'Refresh' bumpers and flippers
-Wooden gun handles (Harry approved) (but not pictured)
I was worried the playfield protector would change the gameplay too much but imo it made the game more buttery smooth - the upper ramp seems easier to hit. Lovin it so far!

Looks fantastic. Good job
5 yr old son wants to play Dirty Harry before bed, ok. Then proceeds to load gun on every ball and hit the headquarters skill shot. Nice job kid!

I am trying to shop DH and I am not sure how to remove the warehouse (specifically the left side as you face it). Also, this post is being super annoying because it has come out of the playfield and I tried holding one end with a wrench and the other with pliers. It is on super tight. But that post is critical because it has ramp and plastic on it.

Sucks! Pliers on the bottom while wrenching the top. It’s never easy
Looking for a help if anyone knows their way around some Dirty Harry dead flipper issues. I am blowing fuse 112 on the power driver board, I was told it may be blown rectifiers under the heat sink at BR1 & BR2, changed those and still instantly blows the 7a slo on start up, it also shows 10vac on one side of F112.
I was also told to check Q1-4 on the fliptronic board and those look good, or at least measure the same.
This dead flipper issue only occurred after I relocated the machine to a new room. Started it up and at that point started having issues with the ball upkick solenoid for the gun and then the fuse blew.
Anyone have any direction for me to check next, to make Harry Dirty again.
Edit: After looking at the schematics it appears that BR3 rectifier on the power board is directly tied into F112 so I will go back at take a closer look at that unit.
Edit: F112 doesn't blow until I plug in until I plug in J104 on the power board which goes to the Fliptronic board J901, which appears to go directly to Rectifier BR1 on the Fliptronic board. And that appears to be the culprit.
Update Edit: Changed the rectifier and now the flippers and solenoids work, but are under powered. Hoping someone may chime in on where I can expand on my diagnostics.
New at Pinball Life is the gun handle assembly/shooter.

My Dirty Harry flippers stopped working, all 3 of them at once. Odd because there is no test report error, and pressing either button results in nothing at all. Ideas?
Specifically, the top left corner fuse on the power driver board. Sounds like the 12vunregated lost to the optos.
There is an option for left ball gate in test but the gate has nothing wired to open it like the right one. Is the left on suppose to open like the right so you can loop it both ways? I just got the pin so not sure if that’s an issue or not
Does anyone have the ghost rom patch, and a way to burn it ?
I don’t have the equipment needed to burn the the rom.
I have read that it is a good remedy for the gi ghosting/flickering
Quoted from Clytor:Go ghosting? Please explain.
During the game there are times it tries to dim the gi, with leds it looks
Like a crazy flicker show. I read there was patch rom made to help that. I was hoping this was an easier fix than the ocd board.
Hey everyone! I was playing this game yesterday (I don't own it otherwise I'd test this out a little) and noticed something I had never noticed before: I had an extra ball and fired before you get to the choices (Load Gun, Ramp Shot, blah) but definitely after the animated dog drops to ball and got a "Secret Skill Shot" message and awarded a +1x bonus. I may have double pressed the flippers a couple times trying to get out of the animation. Curious, I tried it again but this time right away and nothing happened. Even more curious now I definitely did it after the "extra ball" words were displayed but received something else (can't remember).
So my question to the community: does anyone know the rules around this and whether there are more of these? Are they random or is there something specific you can do to get "the right one"? I checked the pinball.org rule sheet but didn't find anything about this. Maybe I was on some sort of custom ROM?

Launch with flipper button enabled?
I just picked mine up this week and I want to get colored LED's installed. Is there a list somewhere of the bulb locations, number of each of the colors needed and socket types? - Thanks, Tom

Not that there is anything wrong with Pinball Center but if you'd rather not ship from Europe, here is a stateside option- https://www.pinballbulbs.com/kitlist/dh/dirty-harry All that said, I prefer to look at the game and count the up the different colors and order them from Comet. If you got that route, make sure you get non-ghosting leds for the feature lamps under the playfield.

I have gone through pinballbulbs before. Good company. You can contact them with special requests and they can help you.

So I got my Comet order today with all Non Ghosting. All non GI lighting will lightly strobe while in attract mode. I noticed this a wondered if any other DH owners have or had this going on as well. I don't know if its the Power supply or lamp driver with a sagging cap or what's going on?
Thanks for any feedback, Tom
Hey Tom - my game also has non ghosting leds in it and I still get a little flicker, especially noticable in the large center inserts. Ive heard that the Led OCD board is a solution, if its worth it to you http://www.ledocd.com/

Ghosting and flickering is pretty severe with dirty harry. I have the gi ocd and it makes a big difference.
Selling my Dirty Harry mint nos Playfield. Thinking $800+actual shipping. PM if interested.

Gummed up gears. Time for a tear down, clean and re-lube.
Quoted from Junkhauler:Ok.... so your talking about the Gun Shaft Assembly?
Take the entire motor assembly off the bottom, disassemble, lube and reassemble. You can use a 9 volt to see if the motor works.
Hey guys,
Strange issue with my Dirty Harry. My son and his mate were playing it today and the ball got stuck in the plastic playfield gun. Seems you can launch the ball as normal using the metal launch gun but if you load it into the plastic playfield gun, when you pull the trigger on the metal launch gun it won’t shoot the ball out of the plastic playfield gun?
Has anyone come across this before and has anybody got any ideas what to check or how to fix it?

Go into test mode and see if the opto switch is working in the plastic gun.
