Quoted from Ballypalooza:

I’m sorry. My post was a little confusing. I need the right decal for the main ramp. Marco has the left decal.
[quoted image]

Not sure if you are aware of it, but in the Ramp o Matic thread in post 398 there is a link to a tutorial on how to save and re-use your old decals.

#1502 2 years ago

Hey Supermatt, thanks, I’ll give it a try.

#1503 2 years ago
Quoted from NNJPatriot:

It may be easier to take a high res photo of it, get the measurements of it, bring it to a print shop that can do vinyl decals and have them print them off for you.

That is what I did, at least for the top decal.

The top decal appears to be vinyl, and impossible to remove via the freeze method. The bottom declas come right off though and can be reused.

How do i get to the right ramp opto sensor? Do you need to take a bunch of ramps, maybe the warehouse etc off the playfield to get to it?

Is there a backdoor method??

Any thoughts appreciated.

Slide playfield out as far as possible to see if you can get to screws on the back board. Take them out and after you take the board off should be able to get to it.

You have to do more then that, but it’s a good start. Then start removing ramps and warehouse. Then if your that far you would want to correct any issues with the magnet.

I picked up a DH a few months ago and am now ready to shop it. This thread is lengthy so could someone summarize what I should look for and common issues I should address.
I have seen a few comments about the magnet?
The LEDs that came in my game are awful, I will be upgrading those to comets.
I have a new repro set of ramps that came with the game, I was told they were prototypes for the replacements and may need some tweaking to get them to fit.
Im going with a color dmd, is led or lcd better for this title?
Coindork was kind enough to send me a few silhouette targets to replace the broken ones.

What else needs attention on this title?

Thanks

Congrats on a great pin. The teardown of the playfield is slightly more complex than your average pinball machine. Just take a lot of pics when taking things apart and you should be fine. People talk about the magnet because it is difficult to reach and is often mushroomed or distorted. Pulling the magnet out from the bottom may be hard if it is. Pull out the magnet and file the end flat and reinsert it flush to the playfield. Colordmd is a good upgrade for sure. I have had both the led and lcd in my DH and I ended up going with the LCD. I like the Dotsxl and Hi-Res modes on the LCD. If you want a brighter color screen, go with the LED. Finally, if you take off the wireform that drops the ball into the gun, make sure to pull the wire forms slightly toward the side wall when reinstalling or you will have a lot of balls fall out of the gun when loaded.

Magnet will not come out through the bottom. It will cause damage to the playfield if you do.

Definitely LCD. The only LED I bought is in my CV, because there is no room for the larger size of the LCD.

Were you able to get the ramp out?

I did mine the hard way by taking almost everything off the playing field with tons of notes, pictures.

It would have saved me so much time if I were to have known about the back coming off.

#1515 2 years ago

Scoot how much did those cost? Do you have a printer to do these?

Oh, right. I took my old ramp in with the decal on it for it to be scanned by a car detailer. It cost me $30 for 3. If you need one I can have more printed as he kept them on file. Probably can do it for $10 shipped.

I've been looking for one of these, would be grateful if you could help me out

One more quick question since I’m in the club now. Mine came with the helicopter mod installed but it actuates intermittently and not when the helicopter sound/ramp is hit. Can anybody post a pic or give me info on where the wires should be landed? I’m assuming they are not in the correct spot. Thanks in advance for any help.

Saw these on eBay. Not mine.
ebay.com link: Bally Williams Dirty Harry Pinball repro 2 piece ramp set

I put them on ebay to help international customers with possible cheaper shipping options. I still have them available for US customers at www.rampomatic.com as well, and Marco has some left in stock as of today.

I believe I sent some to Pinball Centre in Germany and I am working on getting them stocked at a distributor in France soon.

That’s great to hear. Thanks for making these up for the community they were needed. I just like to help promote when I can.

Got a Dirty Harry coming Monday via FedEx. Never was crazy about the original translite so I designed my own. Got it printed and ready! Can't wait to see it all lighted up! Also bought new side art blades and color DMD.

Finally part of the club! Already installed my Pin Stadium lights and art blades. The translite I designed looks awesome! Installed a little Harry head on the ball diverter. Next on the list is to install my color dmd.

Gotcha. That might be something you could fabricate, wouldn’t need to be perfect just a couple of bends and three holes. That part could be hard to track down unless someone has it lying around. IMO
