Quoted from JodyG:

Now that I have some working molds, I guess i can let the cat out of the bag. New release ramps number 4 and 5 are far enough along to be announced. My next two 2021 releases will be the small and large ramps for Dirty Harry! Note: these are preliminary pieces shown, there is much more work left to do on the molds before they are finished.
I have at least 4 more molds to make this month, and then I will start running production on these ramps once I ascertain initial interest. If you would like to be added to the interest list for any ramp I have announced, send me a message and I will add you.
[quoted image]

Didn't see a way to send a message directly, but please add me to the "interested" list for the Dirty Harry ramps!

I saw pbresource has the stand up targets for dh. Not sure if I was the only one not to know, but just in case someone needs them. They look good

I might be in for a right ramp too. I’ll stay tuned. Thx

Finally after 2 years, got my DH home. Been at my bro’s since I didn’t have room.
Glad I didn’t sell it. Much more fun in a little line up.

Tore down the playfield to remove the right ramp for repairs. Noticed that the left side of the ramp entrance did not have a metal protector installed,(subsequently the reason the left side cracked), even though the right side does, and the left ramp is protected on both entrance sides. I can’t tell from pics when looking at other DH’s, but can anyone tell me if their machine has ramp protectors on both sides of the entrance on the right ramp? If so, anyone have can extra protector? Thanks!

Cliffy does have hole protectors, just not ramp protectors.

This one for Tron works pretty good. If you give it a bend. And perhaps drill another hole in your ramp.

Edit- Works good on left ramp. Might work on the right.

You’ve used that on the right ramp? Thanks for the suggestion!

Sorry. No, I used it on the left ramp where the factory one was missing.

You're pretty fast! I just logged back in to correct myself.

Looking at the right ramp, it might work there too.

#1368 3 years ago

Looking like I'll start running Dirty Harry ramps late next week. If you are not already on my list, head over to www.rampomatic.com and click the "notify me" button on the listing for each ramp, and you will get an email notification when they are ready to ship. This way I will have an accurate count on how many to run.

Almost finished putting back together my Dirty Harry. Full teardown, clearcoated the playfield etc. Does anyone know what this writing means on the playfield under the apron - “001”? Do any others have any writing like this on their playfield? Thanks

Very nice! Did you strip the underside as well? Just stripping the topside is a daunting task. How was the magnet hole?

I don't know what it means, but it looks more like an 8 with an underline to me.

Thanks! Yes, full topside/underside teardown and rebuild. The magnet had mushroomed and thinned/worn down that area but not as bad as some others I’ve seen. I filled that area and installed a Cliffy ring protector. The game was super filthy. Dirtiest game I’ve torn down. Complete disassembly of all parts including cabinet parts, coindoor etc. Ultrasonic cleaned and tumble polished the metal etc. Playfield was clearcoated and polished with the 3M pefect it system. Game has been in pieces for 2 years so I’m very excited to finally play this again soon!!

The first picture is not mine but I do have writing on mine on top as well it is red. The underneath of mine is on the second picture. It has a number as well. I read were it has to do with production.I believe they would do like 80 a day. They would write the number they were on when the day ended. There is some literature out there on the net. Here is a site that talk about it.

Freaking bad design. I was gonna try something I posted back a while ago but didn’t get to it. topkat i believe put shims at the shooter lane coil and I believe it helped the situation which he also posted back in the thread.

Thanks, yeah terrible design. I just installed shims at the shooter coil and dremmelled the opto bracket above the magnet. I put a piece of 3M double sided tape overhanging the bracket damage, so if the ball does hit the bracket the foam like tape will act more like a cushion instead just bashing metal straight on. We’ll see how it works.

Almost ready to pop the playfield back into the game. I still need to order a few targets and some target foam. I can’t seem to find where this red wired connector fits. Anybody know if this connector is unused? Or what it connects to?
Also do the playfield slide assemblies need to be greased? Which kind of lubricant?

We all have that plug with nothing connected to it. Maybe for an operator to plug into to print totals or upgrades. Not really sure just guessing.

Of all the pfs I’ve taken apart, granted it’s not a ton, servicing that magnet was one of the biggest head aches...(once it’s mushroomed) To get to it you almost have to remove all the ramps, at least I did

Missed this.. when I put the shims in, I get about 19/20 balls to make it to the lanes or have the magnet grab if you choose

First time I did one, it was a pain. Second time I took the back board off first and had it out in about half an hour.

Remove the back panel first, then both buildings, both ramps, and the right corner plastics and opto. Done.

Good to know. I have to tackle this feat very soon! I have to replace the magnet and add my cliffy’s. I am thinking since I’m doing all that just doing a complete shop, and possibly adding mirror blades. Looks like it’d be a tight fit though. I’d hate to buy some blades just to damage them raising the playfield. Anybody else have mirror blades on their DH? I’ve seen some super cool ones, but wondered in all honesty is it hard to get the playfield up and down with them installed? I had some in a judge Dredd and I “Dredded” raising that playfield. It was my only experience with mirrors.

#1387 3 years ago

I installed the blades and the sticker on the back. I did use the blade protectors from pinball lift, however, I don't really need them because nothing rubs. Just make sure ramps aren't making contact. When did cliffy add a protector for the magnet? I bought the set and did not get that. I just put new mylar around my magnet.

Thanks for the info!
As far as magnet protector..I’ve had mine for about a year now, so I’m not sure...so he has had it at available at least a year. Lol
I contacted Cliffy directly and asked about the cliffys and a magnet protector. He sold me all of it. A shame I still haven’t installed any of it. I can finally work on it now that it’s home though.

The plastic blade protectors are awesome, and will protect your side art or mirrors, and fit most pins. Definitely a great purchase!!

Cliffy didn’t add a magnet protector to his DH set. He has an assortment of protectors with the correct ID, and different OD’s, made of metal or carbon fiber, that you can add....your choice. I chose one like I pictured, only wider OD. Perfect after two years still.

I could be wrong but I think that may be the connector that should have gone to the pop up target (only prototype DH games had this target).
