    Quoted from Pintucky:

You really have a great command of 'our language'.

And Americans are starting to get the hang of English as well now.
Just need to correct "gray", "color", "elevator/lift", "cookie/biscuit", "chips/crisps" etc. etc. and you'll be close to a B*

    Quoted from meSz:

I must be going to False lumberyards then as here in PA ....... no drive-thru ...... HOWEVER we do have drive-thru beer distributors. Even some Drive-thru window beer places ..... drive up to the window and order case of beer and on your way!!!

I found my first ever drive-thru petrol station. I don't really see the point as you have to get out of your car to fill up, and then get back in and drive to the paying booth as you exit. I thought the whole point of a drive-thru was so you didn't have to get out of the car at all?

    Quoted from pinballrockstar:

Hm the wood breaks...the angle gives too much stress..
Hm,we need to buy something else this week

No need to buy anything else.

Cut your template, make sure it's the right fit once it's bent and fitted.

Cut your wood and leave to soak in water overnight.
Then soak wood in BOILING water for about 10 mins.
Wood will now bend into any shape you want without splitting and give a nice even curve.
    Fix to rest of roof.
    Job done.

My cousin makes wooden rings using a very similar principle.

    Quoted from pinballrockstar:

Bad luck for Dick,he is making a shitload of deepfried doughnut balls at work...december is a horrible month if you work in a bakery..he works overtime.

I feel the pain. My dad was a baker by trade and I once went in to help him on 23rd December at 3am (he'd already been in for 6 hrs when I arrived). We didn't get out until 24th December at 4pm. The whole time all I was doing was making the pastry cases for mince pies - I now hate mince pies.

    Quoted from pinballrockstar:

And Wayne Johns from England send us a cool artpiece made with a laser!

    Glad you got it.

It is actually done with a soldering iron - the only thing I can do with a soldering iron seems to be burn stuff.

    Quoted from pinballrockstar:

Man...that guy had so much work making that...he made it with a soldering iron?
Imagine what his house smelled like
    What a nice dude...

It was a pleasure working on something a bit simpler. I've had a bit of practice

Can't believe you went to Iceland, yet didn't go to, or post any pics of the penis museum.

I visited Reykjavik a couple of years ago and had a great time, especially the waterfalls - but it was SO expensive. Our Valentines night meal was pigs in blankets in a BP petrol garage.

    Quoted from pinballrockstar:

If we do mass production we would never be able to source so many tongue depressors.

I just happen to order tongue depressors (along with everything else used in a hospital theatre) so no problems with sourcing them.

50 machines for an initial run? 60,000 Depressors on the way, just say the word

    Quoted from rkahr:

Nice - Dates are listed as August 23-25 on their website. Plenty of time for us USA folks to talk to spouses about 2019 being the year for a "special" European vacation! Maybe ask them for a trip to UKpinfest as a Christmas present! Would be awesome to play a game or three on this game we've watched materialize bolt-by-bolt... and with so many ideas/recommendations from the thread.

Also 'almost' certain to be there will be Forbidden Planet as well as a recoded Indiana Jones.

Last year we had Kill Bill from Dutch Pinball, Thunderbirds from Homepin, Mafia Pinball from Team Pinball as well as all of the latest Stern and JJP releases provide by Pinball Heaven, not forgetting the 100 or so other machines brought by private owners, plus the different seminars.
Always the most highly anticipated pinball event of the year in the UK (not in a small part due to the fact it's hosted in a great hotel which can cater for partners and children while you play pinball or enjoy the late night sessions in the bar ), which can only be improved on by having the Amigos there next year.

I'm running the Pinfest Battle, which is likely to have the highest prize payout ever in the UK.

    Book your tickets now.

Thanks for the compliment dude,we appreciate it!

    We are working full throttle!

Maybe they’ll boo us...it’s scary bro [quoted image]

You won't get booed, unless you mention Full Throttle too many times. (Heighway Pinball Joke)

Looking forward to seeing you all here this time next week, the beer will be flowing well by now.

    Quoted from pinballrockstar:

    Okay...hand me the beer bro!
We can do without the pinball machines but without beer... [quoted image]

We do have beer in England. Although Heineken is generally regarded as one of the worst.

I'll add to all of the positive things already said.
It was great to have you over here.
A number of things stand out.
Having followed the builds of Minions and Crazy Mansion on here I was already impressed with the machines, but you don't appreciate the actual detail on the tiniest things until you actually see them up close with your own eyes, the pics just don't it justice.
You were both clearly so passionate about your games and that enthusiasm shone through all weekend.
You also don't get realise just how tall Bas is from the photos - but every Durch person I've ever met has been tall
Leave the great English breakfast alone - the only way we get through a weekend of a pinball show and drinking beer until 2am is to have a good meal at 8am - and drink tea all day - when else could we fit it in?

Everyone I spoke with had only great things to say about you both, and can't wait to see the progress you have made when you return next year.

    Quoted from pinballrockstar:

Beard is done with the sideblades, they look rad![quoted image]

I'm curious as to why you papered the sideblades, and not just papered the inside of the cabinet?

    #10748 43 days ago
    Quoted from pinballrockstar:

Oh! And i thought of another reason: if you put art on the inside of the cab,it damages when you lift the playfield...so these sidblades reinforce the playfield plús we can stick our art on there.

Now I understand. So they're not sideblades in the traditional sense in that they stick to the cabinet, rather that they attach to the playfield itself - not to the cabinet.
