Ok, its crazy Friday which means crazy mansion time!!
Looking forward to lots of beards and alley meetings, plus some crazy building ofcourse
Quoted from pinballrockstar:The Amigos are all out of town this oncoming friday.[quoted image]
Noooooooooooo, I need my weekly three amigos fix!
Friday!! Looking forward to lots of beard, alley meetings, cool tshirts and awesome progress on your pin.
Also, you should add a callout to the pin somehow involving "Friday" as a reference to your weekly updates
Fridayyyyyyy!
Give us beard!
Give us alley meetings!
Give us all that crazy Amigo stuff!
Im hyped and ready....
Quoted from rkahr:Knowing it is very heavy when fully populated and looking through the pictures I'm a little concerned about structural integrity of the the playfield. In particular, the area on the left side marked with red lines in these two screen shots:

and
[quoted image]
I believe the pivot point for lifting the playfield is toward the rear of the machine from this point. I'm not a mechanical engineer so check my logic, but essentially every time you lift and lower the playfield you are using it as a lever and the weight attached to it acts as resistance to the motion. As it would be awful to see splintering develop, it would seem prudent to put some reinforcement on the underside in this area (along blue line):
[quoted image]
I'd guess reducing the weight of what gets attached should help too. Can't do much about coil weight but are there places where plastic or aluminum can be substituted?
If somebody following along is a mechanical engineer perhaps they correct or confirm my thinking!

Good thinking, when you mention it I too believe they need to reinforce the PF or they might end up with two main playfields . Sometimes more is not merrier
Quoted from pinballrockstar:Ha! We were discussing just that!
We need some L shaped aluminium rail reinforcement over there...yeah...we are indeed putting a lot of stress on a small piece of plywood
Thanks for your thoughts!
I was thinking two U-shaped steel pieces that goes around the edge of the playfield on both sides in that area should reinforce pretty good. Only downside would be if the metal scraped the cabinet inside. U shape is sturdier than the L shape.
Quoted from swinks:nice work, yes you don't want a floating boob in your game
But.....I like boobs! Doesn't matter where it is, it's still a great boob
FRIDAYYYYYY!!!!!!1111oneoneone
I'm ready for alley meetings, beard fashion, VR playing, finger drillin' (ouch), game tweaking (twerking?) and 100% having lots of fun.
Keep it coming and hope it never ends. The second the crazy mansion pin is done you guys absolutely must start on a new pin or you'll ruin my future fridays
Absolutely love what you guys are doing and sharing it with us.
Fridayyyyyyyy...oh snap, just realized the build of crazy mansion is over. Darn, this is depressing. Hurry and start a new build
Quoted from pinballrockstar:And be excellent to eachother
[quoted image]
You can't fool me, the game on the monitor is clearly Defender of the crown and nothing else
Such a great game, I've got loads of memories of that one.
Btw: no more videos of testing/tweaking/enjoying crazy mansion?
Quoted from smoothbore19:Yees Amigos. We need to think of a way to hook VR goggles to a pin.
No, they need to think about making next great custom pin
So did you guys ever post a longer video of crazy mansion gameplay after pin being properly tweaked and tuned in? If yes then I missed it, if no then I'm still waiting
Quoted from rkahr:That's a great theme idea. Lets iterate on it!
Scatter a bunch of ball locks on the PF. Start the game by releasing all the balls simultaneously as a multiball superspreader event. In multiball scoring SUBTRACTS from your point total because the pandemic can spread (so your score goes negative). Enforce social distancing by locking all except one - with just one ball rolling you accumulate points. Randomly release one or more "social distance rule breaker" balls that also restarts score subtraction mode where the player must lock again to stop the score losses. Drained balls are lost to the pandemic. When you are down to just one ball remaining the pandemic has won and the game is over.

This actually sounds really fun, please make it happen !
Quoted from JayDee:Shit!! I got excited when I saw the new post
Same here, thought maybe a new project started, darn.
Quoted from Zablon:We never did get a full gameplay video
I'm still waiting for this too. I think they said there were making one but never seen it posted anywhere.
I'm still waiting for that minions gameplay video you promised a looong time go, its only a year or so late
Quoted from pinballrockstar:[quoted image][quoted image]
Wohooo, greenscreen! Let the fuckery and shenanigans begin!
Also, fridayyyyyyyyyyyyy.
Quoted from pinballrockstar:But first a 420.
It’s too hot in the alley so we resorted to the back garden where the RV is parked, way cooler
[quoted image]
What, no alley meeting?!? The world is seriously wrong now.
Quoted from pinballrockstar:England is nice
[quoted image][quoted image]
Hey bro, you're drivning on the wrong side!
Oh, UK, nevermind
Your helper Fligg seems like a super awesome guy.
