You guys make things COOL, a lot of purists forget that gaming is F U N.
I for one applaud you for doing this VP machine as the cost of pinball goes up, these are a viable substitution .

    #3955 5 years ago

awesome work, do you still have it?

    #3956 5 years ago
Quoted from swinks:awesome work, do you still have it?

No i sold it for a good price, i can build 4 of them for that kinda money
But to be honest,it worked excellent but i like real steel balls better

    Quoted from oldskool1969:

You guys make things COOL, a lot of purists forget that gaming is F U N.

    It is a great alternative,absolutely.
The build alone is so much fun dude!

    #3957 5 years ago

What would you guess for a build cost on one of those? I'm an idiot, but thought it may be a fun project.

    #3958 5 years ago
    Quoted from gliebig:

What would you guess for a build cost on one of those? I'm an idiot, but thought it may be a fun project.

    old cab: 50 bucks

ipac 2 board, bunch of buttons and a secondhand computer: 300 bucks

38" hd tv with one dead pixel (who cares) : 25 bucks

24" backbox lcd from thriftstore: 30 bucks

vp forums membership for one year: 10 bucks

I re used the old wiring harnass that came with Jurassic Park cabinet to solder the switches to the arcade buttons.

the 15" dmd lcd came with the secondhand computer

So to sum it up i paid just over 400 bucks to build it and sold it for 1600 bucks...

    Happy Friday amigos!

Here is a long overdue pic of my wife in her amigos shirt. One of the reasons we bought so much to help support your cause was because my wife is also battling cancer at the moment, hence the lack of hair.

She is proud to support the amigos.

So...that lower playfield...what are you going to be shooting at?? drops, or standups? Can you squeeze an orbit loop down there? Also will you use separate flipper buttons or just one set and the basement flippers only activate when a ball is down there...

We are debating just that,we are thinking about a cirqus voltaire/ringmaster kinda area layout.
    (Without the ringmaster)
    A loop with inner targets
