We are using puke green for the side blades insides.
We'll see how that pans out.
We might do artwork on the blades,we'll see.

We need to take the playfield out 'cause i need to cut some pieces of metal away, the blades hit lots of things, plus they need a lot of holes to attach it to the playfield.
    Gonna be strrrrrong!!!

    I just realised i made a booboo...
    The angle is wrong.
It has to go up steeper to the backbox.
Ah well, the dude will bend some new ones next week.
It looks real great with these painted sides,it really boxes the playfield.
Really want it to be right so swapping them this week.

    Quoted from swinks:

nice work guys... see ya next week

    You bet buddy!
    We'll be here

    #1886 1 year ago
    Quoted from paultje:

Nice work guys, have a good weekend

    U2 buddy!

    Quoted from dirkdiggler:

    Great work again guys!
    Those banana flippers are bananas!
Will the rubber conform to it?

The yellow cover is the rubber,it is molded to fit over the flipper.
If you take the yellow cover off, there is a red williams flipper bat under there.

    Quoted from Travish:

But I can't understand a thing y'all say. Except for the beer part. Guess that's universal in any language.

Lol , you gotta understand,we grew up with lots of your sitcoms like family ties, alf, married with children.
English MTV with Ray Cokes and other blokes.
So a lot of times we use english one liners in scenteses.
Weird thing is...parts of your language does not translate to dutch.
Example: if my girlfriend makes fun of me,i'll say:" i will never open up to you again! ".
Which translated to Dutch is a very weird and square scentence.
So we often use english like slang.
Come have a beer translates to: "kom je een biertje pakken jonguh".

    Quoted from zerbam:

should'nt those bannana flippers go into the minnions machine?........BANNANA!!!!!

Of course they are for the minion machine, just a joke.
I was on the skull bottle with Gerard last night after a few beers and all of a sudden the banana flippers were on the Crazy Mansion

    Quoted from Fulltilt:

    No... but maybe....

Wow that picture is wrong on so many levels...

    #1889 1 year ago
    Quoted from oldskool1969:

Banana flippers look cool, but they suck to play with big time. Re consider the us e please!
Next time try safety goggles not swimming goggles

The minion machine is a fun gimmick anyway the flipperbats belong in the theme!

The goggles were actually from my sons chemistry kit

    #1890 1 year ago
    Quoted from Peer:

    Stay in wonderland guys

    It's great here!

    #1892 1 year ago
    Quoted from Travish:

And y'all got cool cars. You have our cool cars and your cool cars too.

Now that i think of it,i only own American cars!? did not notice it
I love how usa build cars look...i am a total sucker for the fabulous fifties/sixties/early seventies.
No windtunnel created crap,my '59 Plymouth Fury front is just a vertical wall trying to plow through the air resistance.
It uses up all the fuel in the netherlands if i go on a trip...
It has some rust here and there,no plans to restore..i just drive it like it is.
My son and i named her "the Rolling Legend".
A few months back i watched the movie Christine with him and boy did he dig it...he sometimes sits in our plymouth pretending he is Arnie Cunningham.(he told me )

    IMG_6508 (resized).JPG

    #1893 1 year ago

New addition to the family is Tessa...our Tesla.(i have 49 solar panels on the pinball building so a tesla made sense)
It is a high milage 2013 car, else one cannot afford it.
I sold my left kidney, gallons of blood and worked three jobs to buy it.
But i wanted a Tesla so bad..,it is like driving the Enterprise from Star Trek.
    Also american made..
All my pins are american made too( except FT) and i collect usa space age stuff...
All the stuff i dig is American made!
I am on the wrong continent!!!!

    IMG_0732 (resized).JPG

    #1895 1 year ago
    Quoted from PAPPYBALL:

Nice! Super jealous! You need a Tesla semi truck next for hauling pins!

Don't be,not trying to show off
It is actually way more car than i should drive,i am just a simple guy.(i get reactions like:" is that YOUR car??" (They have a hard time swallowing:"but you are a moron? It can't be yours?!")
Thing is,i was willing to work crazy hard to get one.
Now i will die 5 years sooner
Tessa luckely accomodates a pinball machine,i bought the mercedes station wagon so i could haul pins...(never measured, figured it would fit)
    Well it didn't...stupid merc.
It sold well and i never missed it a second.
Seats in the merc were awful.
The Tesla seats are a big warm hug when you step into the car.

    IMG_0885 (resized).JPG

    #1897 1 year ago
    Quoted from toyotaboy:

Well it IS a gottlieb system 3 you have in there.. those are the worst case scenario among pins, the cabinets are so dam tall. When my wife drove a scion XB (the newer one), it would scrape the ceiling but would fit. Those were clearly meant to be operated with a Van or pickup.

    Oh? Did not know that?
I could not get a Ballyor Stern in too ?
Transported a brandnew acdc Lucy the same way.
The guy i bought it from thought i was nuts

Man im so excited to see what it is..

I officially own a baby pacman pinball/ video game!!
Do you guys have any idea how rare this thing is over here?
    Yes! Score!!!

    #1910 1 year ago
    Quoted from Wolfmarsh:

Yeah holy cow, I thought he would be picking up something small.

Yeah...sometimes wish i collected comic books

    #1912 1 year ago
    Quoted from Wolfmarsh:

Hahaha, no kidding! I always joke when moving games to shows that I should have gotten into something like stamps or retro consoles.
At SFGE this past year, one of the guys who brought a bunch of board games for people to play was in awe at how many people brought pinball and arcade games.

Well this thing is something else...it is insanely heavy and now i have to unload alone

Now i need to figure out why the videogame doesn't boot..
I bought it like this and i sincerely hope i can figure out what's wrong with it.
It looks like nobody messed with it so i am excited to start this repair!
The schematics are with the machine so i'll figure it out.
    See you next friday everybody!

Could not resist doing diagnostics on baby pacman:

    #1918 1 year ago
    Quoted from Dee-Bow:

I started reading the thread this morning! ..38 pages.. someone made fun of themselves as the worst follower on about page 20..well i got ya beat! Haha .great job boys! Love all the whiskey breaks! I'm nervous about that cabinet tho amigos!.(sorry!) I know ya got it in you boys to build one that has interlocking joints! Are you sure this one will hold up to abuse of hauling it around with all that weight in there?! Again, sorry to sound like a downer.. you guys are faakin deadly! Can't wait to see it flippin!

    Worst follower ever is dee-bow!
Nah kidding man, cool we are worth your time..awesome!
We'll see if the cab holds, otherwise we just build a new one and throw the playfield in that one lol...
We are used to stuff breaking and needing a re-design
Some things are so dumb , we keep that classified...but mostly we laugh and move on
    It's trial and error...good fun

    #1919 1 year ago

Funny how the people at Bally figured the plural of Pacman is Pac-men

    image (resized).jpg

    #1920 1 year ago

And these guys made a "packman " out of pacman...

    IMG_0931 (resized).JPG

    #1922 1 year ago

And there was a guy once who thought the guys from the blue/white sticker spelled it the right way
    Come on people really?

    image (resized).jpg

    #1923 1 year ago
    Quoted from Travish:

If they wrote pacmans people would be like "idiots don't know how to spell". It would be like if a pin had words misspelled on a Playfield. Oh wait never mind...

    Yeah but Packman?!
    Come on...
His name is all over the machine?!

    image (resized).jpg

    image (resized).jpg

    image (resized).jpg

    #1926 1 year ago
    Quoted from Travish:

Where do the baby pacman's come from? Ms pacman must be getting out a lot.

    Yeah,what a slut
This machine is in no way a baby btw..it is real big and weighs a ton!

    Quoted from MarkInc:

    Originally called Puckman.
Renamed Pacman to avoid graffiti artists changing the P to and F!
So Packman is some weird transitional phase.

You guys know so much, pinside is great.
Kind of makes a lot of sense cause it is a puck shaped little guy!

    #1928 1 year ago
    Quoted from Pintucky:

I'm just as amazed at your English speaking abilities as your pinball building skills! You really have a great command of 'our language'. I lived in Germany for two years and can now speak 'baby German', but I can't imagine being as fluent as you are. You know the many idiosyncracies, the double meaning of words, and slang of our language. I'm envious of your talents!!!
    Mike in Kentucky

    Thanks Mike,biggest compliment ever

    #1930 1 year ago
    Quoted from WJxxxx:

And Americans are starting to get the hang of English as well now.
Just need to correct "gray", "color", "elevator/lift", "cookie/biscuit", "chips/crisps" etc. etc. and you'll be close to a B*

    Haha,those are thin lines

    #1931 1 year ago

    Pre-friday-build footage..
I am removing this disco ball from the ceiling, the people who sold us this house left it there...and we also left it there.
On my daughters birthday party the pinata was way too close to it and a blindfolded kid hit it dead on with a bat.
So we have some missing mirror material here and there now.

    IMG_0888 (resized).JPG

    #1933 1 year ago

my girl asked me to take it down ages ago...only reason i'm doing it now?
    Yup,you guessed right...
There is a great strong motor in here!
If you interrupt the current the rotation reverses, real cool.
If eventually my girl takes it down i cannot have it anymore.(i am the manic hoarder in this household...seeing 10 other purposes for stuff instantly.) (please warn me if you see me crossing the border/stacking boxes of newspapers and plastic and such in this topic's background... )

Good to see at least one of the three Amigos already!

    Hey! Atari Daze!
    How r u doin' buddy?
Yeah,i need to tigthy up a little before we start this friday...the build area looks so bad i am not gonna show it

    #1935 1 year ago

Yeahhh...i am going to save this somewhere...cool motor.
With a relay i can totally integrate this in the crazy mansion.

    Hey Gerard!
Mic is superhappy with his cap
    Hi everybody!
Welcome to the crazy mansion friday!!!

    IMG_1060 (resized).JPG

    #1944 1 year ago

We found a real cool green metallic for the side blades guys!
It harmonizes way better with the green plexi.

    IMG_1056 (resized).JPG

    IMG_1061 (resized).JPG

    IMG_1062 (resized).JPG

    #1945 1 year ago

    Yeah...that might work!

    IMG_1057 (resized).JPG

    #1946 1 year ago

Mic says a silver layer will make the green metallic pop even better...well luckily i have brand new silver aerosols

    IMG_1065 (resized).JPG

    #1947 1 year ago

We need to grind and drill some stuff but this is only a first layer...

    IMG_1066 (resized).JPG

    IMG_1067 (resized).JPG

    #1948 1 year ago

While that dries we eat these snacks

    IMG_1069 (resized).JPG

    #1949 1 year ago

Life is great, too bad for Dick,he has to work in the bakery tonight

    IMG_1070 (resized).JPG

    #1950 1 year ago

Here you can clearly see my measuring error...

    IMG_1073 (resized).JPG

    #1951 1 year ago

We have a super expensive green template now lol
I laid it underneath the silver one and simply copy the cuts with a marker.

    IMG_1075 (resized).JPG

    #1952 1 year ago

Now that we found the little plastic skill shot ramp,we are rethinking the skill shot...we came up with a real fun idea..
The basket from space jam is gonna be "the fruit loop skill shot".
We are gonna make a giant fruit loop on the basket ring!
And we know just the item we need for the right structure of a fruit loop

    IMG_1071 (resized).JPG

    #1953 1 year ago

We stole nerf gun bullets from my kids heh heh heh
We will paint the basket plate green metallic, just like the side blades and mic will plot some decals "froot loop skill shot"
Let's make a giant froot loop!!! Haha!

    IMG_1078 (resized).JPG

    #1954 1 year ago

Mic uses black washer fluid car tubing and he wants to hot glue the froot loop on there...just freehanding..

    IMG_1076 (resized).JPG

Meantime i am grinding some cuts in the sideblades

    IMG_1082 (resized).JPG

    #1956 1 year ago

It clears what needs to be cleared..

    IMG_1083 (resized).JPG

    #1957 1 year ago

Now all these holes again...pfff...drills have no more life in 'em

    IMG_1085 (resized).JPG

    #1958 1 year ago

Mic is sanding like a madman on the basket...it is a high milage basket

    IMG_1084 (resized).JPG

    #1959 1 year ago

I pre fitted the blades and need to live test them in the cab to see if i got the angle right under the backbox

    IMG_1094 (resized).JPG

    IMG_1093 (resized).JPG

    #1960 1 year ago

    Got it right this time!

    IMG_1095 (resized).JPG

    #1961 1 year ago

I'm cutting out the original ramp bracket from the baywatch sideblade..
Weld it on our sideblade before stepping into the paint boot.

    IMG_1096 (resized).JPG

    #1962 1 year ago

Huh? I blew up my new angle grinder?

In for a black shirt for sure. Good work as always guys!

Great news,we are creating a new mailbox so everything will go smooth.

    Quoted from Wolfmarsh:

I'm definitely in for some shirts, and thanks for supporting charity.
    Cancer sucks!

Yeah let's end that crap..my father just passed away very recently in september 2017,i will never forget him telling me he was so tired, the word "exhausted" didn't capture it..
He was a blues guitarist and noticed in januari 2017 his left hand was losing coordinates during playing his guitar.
A few days later he was diagnosed super agressive lung cancer with metastases(5 brain tumors).
It has been a real heavy year and look forward to 2018.
Recently Walter Trout survived a liver transplant in the last hour,i followed his entire survival....very emotional and impressive( his wife had a blog about Walter )and so i decided to put the walter trout album on my dads coffin.
These words were so spot on.
Also his stone is in the making and will say:"the blues came calling".
Sometimes a few words can tell so much about someone.
So yeah, long story short...we are very driven to do something to make a change.

    Quoted from Wolfmarsh:

I'm sorry to hear about your dad, and the other amigo's fathers as well.
Now we know where you get some of your musical talent from. Blues is such a great genre of music, and it takes someone really talented to play it well.

Yeah,my dad teached me my first simple song "mellow yellow" by Donovan when i was 11 years old
Eventually he was like; "bas, pleaaaase go to your room and practise over there,i will rip off my ears if i hear Mellow Yellow one more time hahaha...
I had tickets for Joe Bonamassa a few months ago in the ziggo dome Amsterdam...dudes..i stood like a dork with my mouth open the entire concert, could not believe what was happening in front of me...that is when you know it's done right.
Every blues song was like i got hit with a defibrillator...boom!
Mahalia Barnes was doing background vocals and really moved me,what a voice.....at the end of the evening i wanted to marry her..
Joe Bonamassa played on stage with bb king when he was like 10 years old,he learned from the King man.

In case anybody wonders who i am talking about:(joe/mahalia)

I know this is the wrong place to post this, but I can't include a picture in PM. Baz, do you still have the tower "handrail" for Baywatch? Mine was missing when I bought it and I figured I could buy yours if you still have it. Plus, if you are shipping shirts, you can just include it with that when I buy one of those. Let me know. Thanks!

We donated that one to the Dutch Pinball museum a while ago in the topic.

My girl is an even bigger fan,but she was too scared to go in and meet Alice Cooper.

    Quoted from dirkdiggler:

Looks like front row! Nice!! Cool you shared your experience.
I met Alice shopping before a concert in early 90s too. Totally nice and approachable. Very non rock star vibe.
Your girl let's you dedicate your Friday's to hanging out with friends, drinking and playing pinball? And she likes Alice Cooper?? Sounds like a keeper for life Does that mean Spooky will be making a delivery to the Netherlands when ac comes out?

    Yeah pretty front row.
He is a relaxed guy and introduced me to "the nurses" who put him in the straight jacket on stage and they were real nice to me too,one "nurse"(in hindsight Alice Coopers daughter, she plays one of the nurses!)said she liked my leather jacket.
She also took the picture with my iphone.
I also shook hands with them and introduced myself.(ssyyyeah, like it matters who i am )
I told Alice Cooper(wow this scentence starts real crazy... )we had tickets to the show and asked him what the playlist was/if he took along the giant walking Frankenstein, which he confirmed.
Told him we don't miss a show if he is remotely close to us and we were in on the new Alice Cooper / Spooky pinball.
He was like:"you got yours already?!" I am really looking forward to that!
I said no and most likely you would have a bit higher priority to receive it than some dude in the Netherlands
My girlfriend is just as big of a fan of the Cooperman, but she was pretty sure she wanted to stay outside lol.
We were both scared shitless but it was a now or never moment,i knew i had to meet him.
    Dig him sooo much man.
Very thankful, any step in another direction while shopping would've led to not meeting him.
I had a hard time connecting our Tesla to a piece of shit public charger for example,if it wasn't for that 10 annoying minutes....we would've missed that window of opportunity?!
Hell,he wasn't even performing in the city we were shopping?!
We like to shop in Breda, netherlands and the show was in Tilburg, netherlands.
    So what are the odds?
    I can tell you!
    Next to nothing man..
And yeah..my girl is a pretty cool keeper...
She had such a great time at the concert.
But in all honesty, who can resist a 69 year old guy with a whip

    Quoted from dirkdiggler:

That's awesome Baz. Funny how timing is everything.
In 87 my dad got transferred to a new city. So on spring break he takes us to Edmonton, Alberta, Canada to buy a house. We're staying in a downtown hotel and my older brother and I are wondering around the streets and see a big purple tour bus with Constrictor on the marque in front of a hotel. My bro starts freaking out saying "that's Alice's tour bus! We have to hang out and wait" As a 9 year old I was like who cares, let's go. The hotel has a free pool table. I didn't know he had tickets to go thru my dad's new boss.
Well not 5 or 10 minutes later a couple guys come out and my brother starts talking to them, then basically the whole band is there. Took pics with my bro and signed some stuff. Let us on the bus for a minute or two. Pretty awesome that they took 5 minutes to accommodate a 15 year old long hair and his little bro. Could have easily blown him off. Made a fan out of me I remember cause of that.

Awesome story bro, thanks for taking the time to share/post.
That's the way these guys roll..
They are supernice ... they know it means the world to you to meet them.

And timing! Ever seen the Gwyneth Paltrow movie "sliding doors" ?
    (And yes..weird movie..i know.. )
You all know it for sure but i am telling anyway, the lead role catches a subway train and from that point in the movie you also see the other storyline where she Misses the subway train.
    You can guess the rest..
One way she shines, other way everything goes south.
Everytime a time window situation occurs,my girl and i look at eachother and go like:"sliding doors baby... sliding doors..." (we love to be dorky like that)
Meeting Alice Cooper was one of those obvious short time window moments.
It was a super crappy movie, but it sticks and you regularly notice it in real life situations.

Love your story about getting to meet him, that's pretty cool.

Every party i attend from now on,this is my coolest story?
Alice Cooper knows my name AND his daughter likes my jacket!
    What is your cool story?
    Hard to top that lol.
I was so happy i did not dweeb out in front of him.
Cuz that is a big thing...you confidently step up to him,but if your mind goes blur on the spot and you say something stupid, you will hate yourself everytime you think back to that moment.

It was well deserved by the way,we are the type of couple that always get pushed over by fans that lose their minds..
Didn't overstay my welcome at his table, acted cool...it is a perfect memory.

    Quoted from dirkdiggler:

Don't sell yourself short. If I met you I'd be telling all my friends I met one of the pinball amigos and the guy who built the despicable me pinball machine!
I've met a lot of athletes and musicians but none with a memorable story unless having a beer or smoking a joint with them counts? Lots of after parties back in the day after club shows. Met odor urungus (Dave) from Gwar! That was pretty awesome!

    Thanks man..appreciate that.
A friend of mine went to gwar once and took the subway so he could get drunk at the show.
He had no clue they were gonna shoot blood at him and he had to go back home with that same subway/drunk and looking like he'd been run over by a truck
    Will never forget that story.

    Ha! Found out something!
    I am gonna hotwire u10!
Yeah yeah,it is not the correct way...but it still doesn't work..
I have 2 more led flashes than before on the vidiot board ( 4 total ),so i want to keep on diagnosing.
U10 does not pass the test and on closer inspection i see corrosion on some of the leads on the socket.
So i am gonna bend these legs up and temporarily solder wires to it,very gently
I have 10 different colors here.

I have 6 flashes now,so the new roms pass the booting test!
    The 7th flash means u13 and u14 passed the test(which they don't).
1 is corroded, hard to see in the vid, cause i already sanded the legs...hoping i would pass the test.
But it is severely corroded inbetween the black so i guess it is super bad.
I looked them up on the interweb and they are fast calculating things.
They might be called 2114's...got that wrong in the vid.

Send Gerard from the Dutch pinball museum a whats app and he seems to know a dude that has 20 of these.
I can order them on ali express for a few bucks but i want them to arrive soon, not in 6 weeks!
Can't find them in my own stock or in any bally pinball.
They do appear in old commodore 64 computers but i sold mine recently...(31 years ago)...so that's no help either.
    Waiting game starts again..
    Ah well,made progress!
    6 boot tests passed!
    4 to go!
The monitor is working real well so it's just the vidiot board that fails to boot.
