Try some thin MDF say around 2mm thick as it should flex enough, if you need it thicker simply glue layer upon layer with a good quality glue. Keep up the great work.

Merry Christmas Amigos. Hope you have a great time with family and friends.
Thanks for all the effort posting your awesome work over the last few years.

    Thanks mate,same too you!
Pinball is at its best if you can share the experience right?

Yeah it was actually hard not to play it...but building CM is fun!

    #2255 6 years ago

Dialed in broke down in our last game way after midnight.
    No bluetooth,no slingshots,no station 3 coil release...
A bit disappointed,i’ll repair it myself somehow...but i don’t like it when stuff breaks down out of the box..

    #2256 6 years ago

you have the worst luck with NIB.. The delivery guys must shake them up really good before they drop them off.

    #2257 6 years ago
    Quoted from toyotaboy:

That would be my ultimate goal as a technician, diagnose a machine from a distance without any information.
I know there is still a long way to go for me.

    Yeah,really sucks.
    Can’t play it now.
Ah well,i’ll play good old CV...it never let me down..
Also an annoying issue with these newer color lcd pins: the booting up takes an eternity!
If i want to play it i turn it on and make myself a cup of coffee in the meantime.
    Stern,heighway pinball,JJP... all the same.
I guess we are over engineering pinball these days.
I find them to be very complex gamewise too...

Let me know when it is possible.
    My Dialed In is broken

from reading other forums, sounds like slings and station lock 3 are all 20v coils, while everything else is 70v. Don't know if that helps diagnose at all. I would try contacting Lloyd Olson since he's jersey jack's service

Yeah we saw that too, they are on the same string.
Followed the wires to the backbox and there to our surprise was a loose connector.
The heavy wiring harness pulls off the connectors from the board.
So when you erect the backbox, the connectors are pulled off the boards.
    Put in some zip ties.
After a lot of updates, bluetooth is working with my phone too.
    Still agonising...
    Happy it works though

This was the situation in the backbox and the pins were also bent

Hm the wood breaks...the angle gives too much stress..
Hm,we need to buy something else this week

No need to buy anything else.

Cut your template, make sure it's the right fit once it's bent and fitted.

Cut your wood and leave to soak in water overnight.
Then soak wood in BOILING water for about 10 mins.
Wood will now bend into any shape you want without splitting and give a nice even curve.
    Fix to rest of roof.
    Job done.

My cousin makes wooden rings using a very similar principle.

Hm,won’t it go weird on ya when it dries?

    #2265 6 years ago

Decided to rip out this metal post from my Dialed In...it clearly is too small over here and balls hang behind the return lane switch every minute.
You then need to beat the machine severely to get it to roll through.
Tried to loosen up the slingshot post and move it over a bit but did not work..
Crazy narrow over there and the metal post is a real fat fuck.
So now i have a hole in my playfield...but it plays awesome now!
Oddly enough, the right return lane has a completely different post with a rubber on it?

Are the amigos using plywood? That trick works great on lumber, but causes plywood to delaminate...

On a side note, am I the only one who takes note of how far the blackend fingernail grows out each week?

    Hahaha...
It is not a pinball related incident!
I decided to lay down some pavement in my bike shed..bought the biggest rubber hammer money could buy and literally the first paving stone i beat,i hit my thumb full force!
Rubber hammers hurt the same as metal ones is the outcome...
So i took a deep breath, took out my keys, locked the shed door from the inside and cried like a little girl for 10 minutes hahaha.
It was a supercold day and the pain kicks in after 20 seconds...you look at your squashed friggin thumb and YOU KNOW you are gonna be in so much inevitable pain very shortly...jumping around like an asshole, holding your thumb...(it don’t help shit, but somehow humans think “one can jump the pain away”.)
The black thumb is driving me crazy, the worst place ever!
Every picture i take, the black nail is on it since i am right handed..
A few weeks ago my 10 year old daughter noticed we had the exact same thumb...except hers was peeling crappy nail polish.
    Thanks guys,lmao

Same here! I always wince when I see it, thinking of what hit it what it felt like!!! Even wondering when it was gonna grow out enough to fall off and replaced by new.

    Quoted from DennisDodel:

Let's make a contest of it. I say May 18th.

This sounds like an awesome idea. I took the liberty of setting up an online pool to help track entries and to keep dozens or more posts from derailing this thread. The link to the pool is here... http://bebepool.com/pinzap. Forgive the “baby pool”, as that’s all I could find online.

@pinballrockstar, if you don’t want to do this or otherwise think this is distracting from the thread, let me know and I can delete this post. Obviously we will need to have your participation to announce the date/time when no black nail is visible to determine the winner. Time is GMT+1:00 (Central European time?)

This is the introduction text on the pool page. “Pinballrockstar on pinside has a black thumbnail due to a rubber mallet injury. This pool is for fun to see who can guess the date and time closest to when no black portion of the nail is still visible. For the purposes of this contest, the nail falling off will constitute no black nail remaining, even if there is black residue in the nail bed.

For “your name” please put only your pinside name. No registration is required. For birth date and birth time (sorry, could only find baby pools online) put the date and time you think pinballrockstar will notice that zero black is visible on the actual thumbnail.”

    #2278 6 years ago

You could also paint it fun colors to really throw them off since they're betting on when it will be gone lol.

    No it’s superfun hahaha!
It will definately not fall off,it is a supersolid nail.
So it has to grow out on its own power!
